Not sure what to expect from Donny, I was expecting a better start from them considering the love-in for the signings and new manager.
Not sure about the signings we all know we need more in midfield but McCann yeah. We’ve been outplayed by Newport and looked like a bunch of individuals who have just arrived at the club, got beat by Harrogate who were slightly better than us but won with a penalty that wasn’t. In between we outplayed a strong Hull side.
I honestly can’t see us getting anything against you but I am hoping that McCann at least puts a team out that is competitive

Unless we bring a decent forward in today can't see us winning tomorrow. Mendy been our best player so far is a doubt with a tight hamstring.leaves us with a serious lack of pace.
Missing Mendy, Hayden, Tunnicliffe and Mullin. Would probably all start for me.

Danny Johnson always impressed me when I've seen him.

2-1 Walsall

It’s never that simple but if we play as we have done the first 3 games…..

I’d be looking for at least 3 points from doncaster and grimsby away.
No worries mate, you can have 3 from Donny and 0 from us, deal? :bg:

Sutton away for us. Tricky opponents, and judging by their summer activity they've built a side based on physical attributes (pace, height and power) rather than actual footballing ability.

I'm pleased Harry Smith will be out, he's a very capable forward in a side that puts the ball in the box an awful lot. We dealt well with Accrington's team of giraffes on Saturday, so hoping for the same here. Another win would be fantastic, but wouldn't be miffed with a point to be honest.

1-1.

I don’t really know anything about the current Morecambe team, so no idea.

Saturday felt more like the Notts of last season, though, so hopefully we can carry that on and write the opening day off as an early red card ruining everything. We did say we’d be the entertainers and eleven goals overall in our first two games is a strong start. Let’s guess 2-2 for this one.

They were absolutely dreadful Saturday, got to be looking for back to back wins.

Good lad Dem - 300 apps for us and would run through brick walls for the cause. How’s he settled in? Scored v Mansfield …

He doing well, slotted in nicely and hopefully his experience and the way he conducts himself will start to rub off on the others around him in defence. Seems a decent lad off the pitch as well.

If Mendy is out were surely going McClean at left back.

You want to be putting them to bed, they were terrible. Of course from our perspective it was a 1 off performance from morecambe in our eyes and might be the anomaly.

Stockport (a) - tough one!

We’re still adjusting to the 343-532 formation. I weren’t impressed with us against Colchester on Saturday.

That being said, Stockport are still chasing their first win of the season. However, I understand they have been incredibly unlucky in all their games thus far.

Good time to play them or a good time for them to play us - I think it’ll be the latter on Tues.

Jamie Walker went off injured - shock horror. Suspect he may miss this one.

Lewis

Platt - Stobbs - Kelly

Oyegoke - Pattison - Smallwood - Gilliead

Smith - Cook - Oduor

3-1 County - 1,400 City

In completely shocking news, Nick Powell is apparently injured.

To be honest, with the comments Challinor made about him and how he has started, it could well be a blessing in disguise. If Croasdale, Collar, and Sarcevic are all fit to start then my optimism for this game increases ten fold.

Hinchliffe

Wright - Horsfall - Touray

Knoyle - Croasdale - Rydel
Collar - Sarcevic

Madden - Tanto

So far we've completely controlled our way to a 1-0 defeat and a 2-1 defeat so I'm hoping Bradford come to town, give us the run around and we go away victorious!

We need to settle a back 3 that's going to stay nice and solid and not give away the kind of easy goals we've given away so far this season.

We also need to figure out what the hell we're doing with Powell as he's not looked to be in the correct position at all this season?! He looked good in a traditional No9 vs Preston in pre-season, so I think I'd try him in that role tonight but don't spend the whole game battering the ball long to him. Complete waste of time!

Starting XI for me (assuming a all are fit) would be:

GK Hinchliffe
RWB Kyle Knoyle
RCB Akil Wright
CB Fraser Horsfall
LCB Ibou Touray
LWB Ryan Rydel
CM Ryan Croasdale
CM Will Collar
CM Antoni Sarcevic
STK Nick Powell Paddy Madden
STK Louie Barry / Tanto Oloafe

Bench:
Tanto Oloafe / Louie Barry
Connor Lemonheigh-Evans
Jayden Richardson
Neill Bryne
Cody Johnson
Ethan Pye
Jordan Smith

**Edit - per the comment above re Powell Injury

Haha yes I've seen that a few times too, even from some on here. Absolutely no chance loads of away fans are flocking to Wrexham to get a glimpse of their owners.

Saw a comment on twitter regarding their tickets going on sale for their game next week at ours asking if we are still part time and train once a week.

I wouldn't say we've been unlucked Firthy, shot ourselves in the foot at the back and despite domination of ball and territory, we're just putting the ball in the box to nobody first couple of league games. All of our own doing, no luck involved sadly.

You coming over the pennines tonight?

Stockport are my favourites for the league, I just can’t see a team of their quality losing 3 league games on the spin especially at home. They’ll likely be desperate for a reaction and have a wounded animal feel about them so we need to match that. I’d bite your hand off for a draw pre kickoff.

Echo my fellow Bantams on here. Not particularly confident about tonight's game - stockport are clearly a good side who just haven't clicked yet meanwhile we're bang average at best. Albeit we've been improving with each game. Hopefully it's a good time to play them but I also wouldn't be surprised if we lost 3-0.

Can see Hughes going ultra defensive and picking Halliday/Ridehalgh over Oyegoke/Gilliead at wing back which should be a sackable offence and will not go down well this end.

The biggest game of my nearly 40 years of following Walsall.
Only time we have played a bigger team was probably Arsenal in 1933

We’ve had loads more possession, shots, attacks, corners and higher XG than both the two teams we’ve played. Had two goals disallowed for offside and hit the woodwork.

Yes our attack is too one dimensional but I think you can also argue there has been a lack of luck involved as well.

Hoping DJ can score on this massive occasion for Walsall FC against the Welsh galacticos because I’ve got BTTS.

Biggest game, or biggest team?? ;)

I've read you're meant to have some escort in from Prees Heath, which is way out the way and nowhere near the bypass! Surely not, surely?

What is that all about? There isn't any history of trouble between our clubs that I can remember? Always quite liked my visits to Walsall-first place I ever had a chicken Balti pie. And my first glimpse of Lee Trundle.
