Yeah Evans normally has our number so I’m expecting it to be really tough. But we’re playing very well at the moment and should be a cracking atmosphere - gutted to miss it.
Yep half expected, a typical performance by an Evans team. We didn’t know how to cope with it or what to do.

Write it off, move on. Fortunately we only have to play them twice this season.

Was a fiery game and lost Janneh in the first few minutes of the game, massive blow as he's been a huge part in our initial start and has been a revelation for us to be honest.

Conceded a soft goal, and once your behind against a Steve Evans side it gets very hard to come back. Managed to do the hard thing and get the goal back and then the game was snatched away once more. Overall disappointing performance, don't think we deserved anything from the game so a fair result in that respect.

Have a couple injuries already now, which is a worry.

Have to give Stevenage credit, tactically spot on against us and we really struggled to break them down and create many decent chances, we huffed and puffed but felt we was out battled tonight which I can’t say to often with bonner in charge, jenneh being taken off after 5mins didn’t help.

Frustrating evening but we move on.

KTF.

What a second half that was!

After we scored, we should have been out of sight. We missed an open goal, and had it cleared off the line twice. Then suddenly we decide to start gifting chances to Charlton, they equalise and they're absolutely all over us.

The game evolves to be end to end, probably with Charlton looking the more dangerous and we've got away with a certain red card, in my opinion as the Charlton player was through on goal, although he was being caught.

To go and grab the winner in the 98th minute is unreal.

5 points and undefeated from our opening games of Pompey, Barnsley & Charlton. Absolutely delighted with that

Well RIP to the abbey stadium 23-24 invincibles despite being huge favs against everyone at wom. Any stattos know what the record is for longest winning streak at home in league one? Their 1 game must have gone close.
I'm a bit confused and concerned about why fans of such a prestigious club like Port Vale seem obsessed with tiny minnows like Cambridge. I guess we should feel blessed to have your interest.

Stevenage are a horrible team but very, very effective indeed - they work unbelievably hard, there's always someone right on top of whoever from the oppo has the ball.
We gifted them the first goal with a defensive mix-up, worked our balls off to level it up and promptly switched off from the re-start to allow their lad space for what was a cracking strike.
That's five on the bounce they have beaten us - even when they were bottom and we got promoted they did the bloody double over us!
Credit where it's due, Stevenage will upset a lot of teams this season...

First half I feared the worst. Wigan looked like a big strong fast side who were just ahead of us to everything. I think some of our players are still adjusting to League One, you can't try and fanny around being patient because the ball will be taken off you.

Second half we improved massively and were probably the better team over the 45 (sorry, 55)... still need to improve but the signs are there.

Meh, silly mistake for the goal and their keeper makes a worldie. Difficult to win without a decent striker

Really tough one to take. We dominated but with no cutting edge and then capitulated after Rovers first goal, they should have seen the game off there and then. We then really should have found a winner with May hitting the post before a certain red not being given allowing Rovers to push forward and grab the winner.
For us: no squad depth, shakey at the back and not clinical up top. Another season loitering around mid table unless things somehow drastically change

Frustrating not to see that out especially 2-0 up with 5 to go. We were not smart enough, just inviting pressure.

First half i felt it suited us. Northampton with a lot of the ball, but we looked comfortable. A ridiculous finish from Hackett-Fairchild and the end of a great passing move. Northampton only really able to threaten from long range, except for the header close to HT.

We changed formation to go 4 at the back and extra body up front for 2nd half. Hopefully Kennedy holds his hands up, that did not work. Northampton all over us for first 20-25 mins 2nd half.

Sorensen coming on helped to stem the tide and we scored through O'Connor. Was he offside? Either way Northampton players just stopped for some reason.

Just as game petering out, Northampton manage to get through our defensive unit. Game on, especially as you don't know how much extra time added on. Min 6 mins, Northampton score last kick of game to equalise. Very much deserved.

Quite enjoyed Northamptons commentary, very fair except for the odd mistake, such as Brian House and Reece Hackett Fairchild playing for us apparently

Felt referee actually gave us more than Northampton. Certainly looked a pen against Roughan too. Hoskins going down was a defo dive though.

Best of luck to Northampton, you've got a good side there.

Disagree about not really threatening you too much and only from long range. Pinnocks one on one, the rebound follow up, the two blocks off the line, the header off the post from Sherring etc

Agree about the first half, we had the ball a lot but in front of you and only really threatened when we dialled it up and went a bit longer. I don’t get why you were so passive second half, you had 30% of the ball and only one shot (the goal) in the second half. Could have done some damage against our tired legs.

Not sure about the offside, everyone around me up in arms but to quote Mr Wenger I didn’t see it.

Entertaining game though and hopefully the kickstart we need going into the derby.

Yeah god knows why we were so atrocious 2nd half. I meant you didnt threathen us too much first half. 2nd half was a different story. Bizarre tactics from us. Subs helped to change the game Saturday in our favour, at half time today it messed us up big time. I thought we'd weathered the storm as we changed it up to make us more balanced midway through 2nd half and scored a 2nd. Nevermind! At least we didnt lose.

Just spoke with my mate who went to Bolton. Different class and clearly bound for the Championship. Everything is relative, the whole of the population of Fleetwood could fit inside Bolton's ground, they have quality players athroughout the squad and in every sense are a big club
I've said it on here many times, for Fleetwood to be in league 1 is a tremendous achievement in its own right. We've got off to a bad start but we don't just become a bad team overnight. The bulk of this team is the one that finished very respectably last season. Now we find out the mettle of the team and indeed Scott Brown, looking forward to the challenge.......

17th - nosebleed.

I was *playing* shite football for most of the evening rather than watching it, so I only caught the last 15 mins of us v Orient, but it sounds like it was an eventful game.

Plenty to work on still from our side by the sounds of things, not least the defence - shipping 8 goals in 3 games can never be acceptable - but hopefully we can at least drag ourselves a bit out of the doldrums from here.

Credit to Orient though, I said originally I thought whoever went behind would crumble, but they put in a shift (even down to 10 men) right till the end, those who played the 90 (or 100 if you include stoppage time) must have been blowing out their arses by the end.

Or, based on the reasoning for his red card tonight - you can’t talk to officials at all.
Yeah its ridiculous. Every time Barton seems to talk to a referee he seems to get a ban..

Good point that at a team that will surely be in the top 10. First half we were the better team, second half they came back into it without ever looking like scoring. We had the 2 best chances of the game..with a proper striker I think we'd potentially be a surprise package.

Funnily enough, we're on the same points as the team that beat us by 7 ten days ago. I'm convinced that was just an absolute freak result.

I’m fairly sure that I’ve just watched the worst Derby County performance in our 139 year history.

The Warne experience is done. He probably won’t be sacked just yet, but it’s done. The tides have turned. It’s a matter of time.

Good win tonight at Cambridge. Thought we played fairly well in the first half, had a couple of chances off set pieces before we opened the scoring. A route one free kick, flicked on and Roberts nipped in before the defender and keeper to poke home for 1-0.

Cambridge offered more threat second half, they didn't really work Ashby-Hammond but looked the more threatening, we offered a threat on the counter attack and should have doubled our lead through Jamie Reid but his one on one was saved by the keeper. We were punished 10 minutes from time when Fejiri's wayward shot turned into a great cross that took out our entire defence and keeper leaving Kachunga free to tap home.

Great response to conceding, almost instantly restored the lead, a great strike from Jamie Reid, scored a few like that now. Always seems to step up in the big moments for us, off the bench with another winner. Draw probably would have been about fair on the balance of play but we'll take the wins however they come.

Seems it was for messing around with the technology whatever that means rather than anything said to the officials.

Basically just saw a replay on the bench of the Charles incident and told the 4th official it was a wrong call.

EDIT: Sorry just seen your post above.

If they don't want managers etc watching replays then they should ban Ipads etc from the bench but that would probably upset the Premier league managers!

Probably one of our better first 45s in a while, even though we didn't score we pinned Exeter back. 2nd half fair play to Exeter changed it around and their RW was especially dangerous. Nombe is a cracking focal point forward and caused us no end of problems. Our press was very clever and give Bishop a sniff and he'll punish you. Got to say Norris had a worldie tonight and won us that game. Robertson unlucky not to bag a goal. Lad has a huge future in the game.

Thought we played well tonight. Much more comfortable than a 2-1 score line suggests, albeit Burton scored in virtually the last 60 seconds. I usually never moan or slate attendances, but I have to say that Burton’s away following tonight is an utter embarrassment and disgrace considering Shrewsbury is an hour and a bit away. I was expecting atleast 600 of you.

Warren Feeney is some player, no idea how we’ve got him but I’m not complaining. Bayliss, Perry, Kennah, Udoh all played very well tonight also. Think we’ve got a tidy young squad down the Meadow this season.

We desperately need a new striker in for Saturday unless Mata finally has his clearance to play sorted by those twats at the home office. Can’t take a striker off who’s been a willing runner to every ball and pressuring the opposition into hoof ball to go five at the back/midfield and invite pressure.

6 out of 9 points, buzzing with that. Onto Lincoln on Saturday.

Who's crying? You were utterly ruthless on the day but I called the fact that you're not actually as good as that scoreline suggested. An absolute one off result that wouldn't happen if we played that game another 100 times.

Decent start that. I must admit I had you guys down to struggle but credit where it's due. In mitigation, you've had a very kind fixture list so far. Cheltenham at home is an absolute dream of a first fixture, Stevenage away (although they've started the season well) is a pretty kind first away game and then Burton at home who have had a nightmare start and look all over the place. I would have hoped that we'd have taken 6 points from that. Interesting to see how you get on at Lincoln.
