Can’t say I necessarily disagree to be honest with you.

We are still well short in the playing department though.
A good attacking RB, and Campbell and Leaburn back from injury and we have a really good starting 11. Squad depth is a huge issue though (as these injuries are proving)

Is there a deeper reason behind Bristol Rovers releasing a mug to celebrate the win or is it just because Charlton are massive ;)

I actually don't mind it much, since Castore took over the club shop we'll be lucky to get any decent merchandise
This one? No idea but its been a while since we scored a last minute winner, I certainly wont be paying £9 for it

Evatt will be on the bench on Saturday after climb down by EFL, no one before has ever been sent off for misuse of technology , still think that could have been a penalty from the footage

It couldn't be a penalty as it appears (from that clip) the Ref gave a free kick for a prior offence by Charles.

Fun to watch, that. I'm expecting many more similar incidents this season. Am I the only person enjoying this referee clampdown?

I'm an old git and can remember when the manager used to sit calmly in the dugout and let the officials ref the game. He might have a word at half-time or full-time if he saw something he didn't agree with, but that would be it.

Those days are gone obviously but I much preferred focusing on the players rather than the pantomime going on off the pitch. Mourinho and his backroom staff took it to extremes last season at Roma, with his backroom staff taking it in turns to intimidate the officials and get either booked or sent off. Simeone has been doing the same for years in Madrid.

I'm not saying we're any better. Mousinho and Harley now (and the Cowleys before them) are no strangers to the dark arts and they will no doubt find themselves in the stand at some point this season. I just hope the refs stand firm on this and don't ease up.

Yeah, no doubt. From what I read online, a real lack in depth?

Admittedly its from one game, but your LB & LW were immense, CDM was great. CBs had a solid game. You've clearly got pace, power and flair - but they're just missing that gel and direction. Whilst you were sharper last night, the 3 chances you had came from a freekick (the goal) that was harsh IMO, Alfie May being gifted a chance (ironically like you gifted us the goal last season) and Blacket-Tailor producing a great run in the 1st half.

Tbf there may have been more, but the point I guess is that you lacked direction in the final 3rd.

Will be interesting, if you ever sign some players again, how you'll develop. Your first 11 (Payne excluded) is definitely top 10.
A definite lack in depth.

Agree with your assessment of us, Edun looks good , Blackett-Taylor is a problem at this level but his final ball let’s him down and Dobson is brilliant, I think he’s gone up another level this season already.

Payne is a waste of time, hoping Garner comes in for him.

Thought your lot looked pretty solid and well drilled. Think you could be around the play-offs, look a well coached team.

Another striker is a must too.

Bit late to the party on this one, sounded like Northampton were deserving of something from the game on Tuesday night but we've got to see the game out at 2-0 up with 5 mins plus injury time to play.

Kennedy didn't half drop a clanger with his switch to 4-4-2 at HT (a formation we started with last season and dumped very early on) and his sub(s) only to then try and change it back again but the personnel damage was already done. He had a right brain fart with that one, even if he must have seen something. Doesn't help when your CB heads the ball into the danger area either, mind.

Not really, look how the Ref points and his reaction when he comes in shot. Also, I have a vague recollection from the ITV highlights show that it shows the keeper taking a free kick from this incident in his 6 yard box.
