Anything other than a port vale win would be a massive surprise tomorrow night

Give over

We are probably due for a win against you. Last time we did it was just at the start of the Smurthwaite protests and Ricky Miller scored twice. Since then it's not been too crash hot against yourselves.

1 loss and they are doomed! Has the Carlisle negativity hit Mansfield!

Hopefully a good game, Mansfield 1 loss in 15? Vale 1 loss in 11 so should be a good test... probably a draw but we really need to win, we can't afford to keep drawing at the moment.

As said we have a crap record against Mansfield in recent times... so are certainly over due a win in this fixture.

I swear Crawley have been that one club when you look at results and think “yeah, that ruined the season” for about 8 seasons running.

Still, if we can get an early goal, we should be okay. Kinda want some sort of refereeing controversy, just for Yems’ post match presser. Although he ALWAYS compliments us. Even if we were to win 5-0 or lose 4-0.
You should be ok as I dont think they have any centre halves fit! Both got crocked in our game.

Oddly we have a crazy record against Crawley, especially at their gaffe where weve lost only once (and we led that until we had a man sent off) and won all but one other game which was a draw... even when we've been in the middle of a horrific won we've twice had our only win in that spell at their place.

Really weird one because they've generally not been a bad side at this level and this season aside our away form is usually pants.

Not an over reaction to a loss.

I said we wouldn’t go up before we played tranmere and i maintain that now.

Hope i’m wrong of course

Easy 3 points for FGR.

Our last win was December 7th.
Let that sink in.

Its always dangerous playing a team who have just had a bad defeat, but still I can't see Crawley being as good in defence as Salford were.
Salford were indeed very good defensively and it looks like Crawley had 3 defenders go off and injured on Saturday, so I fully expect us to have more chances tomorrow. We just need to put them to the sword.

I think we’ll manage to get a comfortable 2-0 win, all being well.

One defeat in the midst of a fantastic run against a promotion rival is hardly grounds for such pessimism.

You've played consistently well since October and we are very up and down. We always seem to struggle against Mansfield and they always seem to knock it around nicely on a big pitch at vale park.

I'm expecting a very tough game. Would be delighted with a win but very happy with a point.

Pinging anything around Vale Park isnt easy at the moment, its been a right pain for us with the state of it.

If we fail to win tomorrow we will also set a new club record of 15 league games without a win.

Do Forest Green still not do programmes? Do they do team sheets or anything else instead?!

I am looking forward to this, but only because it will take me up to 90/92. Leaving me with just Wimbledon and Bolton left to visit.

We’ve done amazingly well recently. We’ve exceeded all expectations.

But Newport I think will be a step too far. They are a top League 2 team, consistent, in form over a long period, not used to losing.

A point would be an amazing result, but I think this is where we’ll come unstuck. It pains me to say this but I can’t see anything other than a Newport win.

Carlisle United 0-2 Newport

A result that should give certain fans a reality check, but at the same time shouldn’t take away from what a brilliant job Simpson has done.

Would gladly take a point. Injuries hitting us hard - lost another 2 v Stevenage in Cain and Lewis. Cain, Lewis, Cooper, Pask, Farquharson, Willmott, CBR and Ellison all out. Doesn't look like Courtney Senior will play at all this season.

Hartlepool away - as mentioned, they’re the best team/fans to visit VP this season by a country mile - as shite as we were.

Massive win away at table toppers FGR at the weekend, so I’m hopeful of another decent away performance. Morale seems to be good around the camp since Hughes arrived, and it’s become very evident that this squad and Derek Adams didn’t see eye-to-eye, following a number of interviews with players since his departure.

Hopefully we can manage back to back away wins for the first time this season. With Vale visiting Valley Parade on Saturday (expecting them to bring a few), it should be a decent atmosphere.

Sadly no programmes (allegedly digital ones will be introduced eventually, but not yet), but yes, there should be teamsheets - probably most easily available in the club shop (portacabin) .

I quite accept that that there aren't many clubs in the 92 who can rival us on the "shitty area for away fans" stakes but.....

Dread to think what the traffic jams are gonna be like going down that hill if/when Sheffield Wednesday or Sunderland visit, if they do....

Yeah the new ground is vital for you guys to progress in league football, especially if/when you go up. I think our away end is almost as bad though

As long as there’s an improvement from Saturdays performance then this should be a good game and I’m really looking forward to it.

We seem to raise our game against better sides, some of the worst football I’ve see this season have been, Oldham, Orient, (home & away) and Scunny at home.

Should be a good atmosphere if you’re bringing a decent amount also.

Hendrie was a good option for us and didn’t really get a fair crack at it. I see no Matty Daly in your prediction, is he injured or just out of favour?

Fancy pools to get a result here 2-1.

Daly has gone back to Huddersfield to assess an injury he has picked up.

Be happy if he doesn't come back to be honest.

Anonymous in each of his starts, usually substituted. Been benched for past few games, no idea how and when he picked up the injury.

The top half of the table is so open this season, are we all as crap as each other, or has half the table simultaneously elevated themselves to only mildly crap this year?. Anyways, enough of the philosophy and deep thinking, Exeter really need the points tonight with some tough aways around the corner. 2-0 City

That’s a shame, young lad with bags of potential looked really good for us at times just needed more consistency really.

Aye, bit of a barmy move by Huddersfield, he was finally getting a good run of games together at Pools, now they're back to square one with him.

FWIW I liked Daly, still had a lot to learn but was decent, probably wouldn't get back in the midfield now if he was here with the signing of Bryn Morris.

Bare bones central tonight. If report are to be believed Jack Payne, Mandela Egbo and another Centre Back in Jake O'Brien are injured and missing after picking up knocks in our game on Saturday. This means our centre back pairing will be Baudry and Conroy which spells absolute disaster against a direct and physical team. Really fearing the worst tonight even though Sutton are in a poor run of form.

We are indeed down to the bare bones and I'd also take a point at Carlisle. Not sure we'll have seven on the bench, but somehow that's preferable to still having a whole load of journeymen on the books for this eventuality who don't then contribute when they are called on.

I was really impressed with Daly when playing for you at Valley Parade earlier this season and was looking forward to seeing him play for us. Not sure why it has not worked out for us to be honest. It's not that he has been poor, just very anonymous, if that makes sense?

Unbeaten at home since 9th October (10 matches) but only won 3! Nowhere near enough, probably another bore draw. The performances are turgid and I leave most matches bored. Can’t wait for this season to end now.

Sometimes just a bit realistic. i said if we could get 8 points from the 6 (this being the last one) and still be anywhere near the playoffs would be a cracking effort, we’ve got 8 points from 5, so anything tonight would be a bonus.

This league is crazy, and if all of a sudden like yourselves can pop into the playoff picture from a good run anyone will feel that they can (we’ve done the same)

If you offered me 7th now i’d snap your hand off.

Unsure of which players are available tonight.

I thought Swindon in the first 30 minutes of the game at GGL were the best team we’ve played all season (and tbh they were great at controlling the game for the remaining 60 minutes that night), and I’m expecting another difficult game tonight.
