Would be happy with a point as conker says, still never made it to forest green, don’t tend to bother with places unfortunate enough to be south of birmingham unless there’s a weekend in it or it’s a big saturday game.

I read somewhere (sorry if wrong FG fans) that you’re best when sides drop back and give you space, that’s not going to be something we’d be doing - we’d be closing down the very second you’ve got the ball and not averse go physicality.

I do appreciate we’re away to top of the league and it’ll be very challenging given our away form isn’t great - though recently it’s improved with 4 wins out of 5, wins at sunderland, stevenage, doncaster and crawley with a soft loss at sutton.

Bloody hell Adam, talk about part time supporters this is eleventh time you have had a chance to get to TNL, it isn’t though we never play them.

I just find it utterly hilarious we’re in the playoffs, it’ll never last but it’s fun while it lasts

I was going to advocate us changing to a 3-4-3 for this game and starting with Politic on the left but obviously events have taken over from that.

Really want to see some urgency from the start tomorrow. It starts with the captain also, Conlon is the best midfielder in the division for my money but it’s time he starts taking control of the game again as he hasn’t been quite at it since Bristol Rovers away. I think we’ll win though 3-1, I reckon Wilson will be fired up to prove a point to them.

I was disappointed in Conlon on Saturday. I've read how highly rated he is and i'm sure on his day he is a great player but, like the rest of your team he was very flat. As a captain, you want to see him berating his players and asking for more. In my opinion Louis Reed is the best midfielder in the league, but of course I get to see Reed the same amount as you get to see Conlon so here we are!

His interview after I thought was awful as well. Seemed angry which i get but didn't come across well.

Good timing to be poor, at least no one will poach him this January if he plays like that! He was notably out of form this time last season too.

One his day he is a level above but Saturday he was bad, equally as bad as Pett who's been outstanding this season. I would drop one tonight to make a point that its not a given you get to play.

True there was a lack of aggression or intent from us all game and let you play the game on your terms. By aggression I don’t mean Covolan Enter The Dragon style but just closing down the opposition and letting them know we were there. Not sure why it was the case but that’s what DC is paid to figure out. Normally we follow up a bad performance under him with a much improved one so we’ll see how it goes tonight.

I have a feeling you'll see a much better performance tonight against Salford somehow!

Our record on a Tuesday night at home following a home weekend match is awful!

I don't think you will find many of our fans who consider it unfortunate that we are south of Birmingham...the West Country is a lovely place to live...and, before you ask, no we will not consider moving to make it easier for opposition fans to visit...we are not MK sodding Dons!

On your other point, yes we have struggled with teams that have tended to get into our faces a bit...our only defeats in the league were against Port Vale and Swindon who tended to adopt that approach. However, the last of those was back in October which suggests that we might have worked out how to counter teams who play like that...anyone who adopts that approach now might find they struggle to contain Wilson and Cadden who love exposing the space left by teams who play a high line.

Either way, should be a good game this evening between two on form teams who play pretty decent football...think that might have just consigned us to a boring 0-0!

Don't let this form table stuff kid you into thinking we're a good team. We are not.
We've been very fortunate of late, catching teams on really bad days, getting fortune with teams skying penalties, dubiously disallowed goals going in our favour among many things. We are still an utterly terrible team with next to no creativity and a distinct lack of pace at the back and in midfield.

We should have lost comfortably on Saturday (pleased we didn't!) and if we play like that again tonight then I think our luck will run out.

Hartlepool's away form is poor for a reason, but I think they'll be seeing tonight as as good a opportunity as anything they'll get, so with that in mind I'm expecting a frustrating low quality game of football where a well up for it Hartlepool team grind out a narrow victory.

Carlisle United 0-1 Hartlepool United

I used to like you!

We've been lining up as a 343 lately (3421ish) and doing well with it. Yems has stated that we are playing without full backs but Tilley stated that he is enjoying getting his tackles in at right back...you pays your money you takes your choice.

Stevenage is a team that is always a struggle for Crawley. We do win but it's never easy. I can see Tisdale setting them up well and causing us problems but Yems did work with him at Exeter for a good long while so knows his mindset and I would expect him to come up with answers.

1-2 with Nadesan keeping up his recent run of goal scoring.

Always interesting reading other team's forum b4 match.
The Mansfield faithful are fairly confident on their prediction league with 17 forecasting an away win, 16 for a draw and just 10 for a FGR home win.

wouldn’t go wasting your time going off that pal.

Folk always likely to be more with the heart than head on an internal message board.

Do i believe we can beat you, i really think we can, but i also believe you can beat us and are more likely to do so

I've seen Mansfield twice and FGR once so my view is slightly skewed but I was more impressed with the stags than FGR. If Mansfield can continue to adopt the high press they have dangerous enough attacking players to cause a problem. That said, I think it will be a draw tonight.

<HG>Hartlepool's away form is only so poor because they're yet to travel at Brunton Park. Tonight they'll win by such an impressive margin that they'll jump to the top of the away form table while the EFL will be left with no option but to expel Carlisle who will be instantly relegated to the Unibond league.</HG>

It's certainly been the high pressing sides that have put the wind up us, so I'm by no means confident but certainly got the wherewithal to win it if everything clicks. Inconsistent lower league teams, innit.

I trust (hope) we will see a reaction tonight. Can see a few getting dropped.

Personally I'd be tempted with walker (for pett or conlon) and Edmondson to start for Wilson who just looks so unfit.
Of course gibbo too but it sounds like he is dropped pending a move sadly

2-1 to the mighty valiants

If this is you whilst being 3rd in the form table, I would really worry for your welfare if you were a fan of Oldham.

Hartlepool will control the game against our 1 man midfield tonight.

Bewildering team selection from Millen.

Glad that conlon is ‘injured’ not been at it for a while.
Believing his own hype a bit I think.
Glad gibbo is playing.
We need to stop the rot, I would happily take a draw

Wouldn't be the worst result I guess. Conlon when he gets back needs to go back to doing what made him in the first place and stop thinking he's Zinedine Zidane or someone like that.

Forgot that Alex Hurst was still on the books for us until saw his name on the subs bench.
