The red card at vale was never a red more crap refs at vale proving that there against vale. There's no point appealing it as it won't get rescinded intact I think what will happen is they will give Curtis an extra game ban for failing to leave the pitch and coming back at the ref 5 mins after he was incorrectly sent off. Also I'm expecting the normal bull shit fine for failing to control your players crap that they will dish out. The fact that Curtis is now banned and tolaj and stockley injured I think I'd have preferred to draw today than have him banned as we got nothing but crap play upfront against Tranmere next week. We have had that ref twice now and both times he has sent a vale player off and given a penalty and all the times he was straight to his whistle basically wanking himself off as he was giving the decision.

We’re above Chesterfield . . , . We’re 10th . . .
This sounds like a good photo opportunity…..

In your first post following your 3 points today you couldn’t wait to mention us fella so stop pretending you don’t care.

Oh and are you still comparing us to Bromley who we pumped 3-0 a couple of weeks back yeah?
Well done you, you’ve clocked they’re above us in the league at the moment (having played a game more), but once again, you’ve failed to acknowledge all of the other points I made about the unprecedented adversity we’ve faced this year that might (possibly) have played a little part in us picking up just the 8 points in the last 30 available.

Anyway as I said, Stagsnet is waiting for you, get yourself signed up, you’ll love it there.

You are looking far too deeply into it. After surviving our game today and seeing that almost everyone at that top won I checked the league table and was surprised how far I had to scroll down to see chesterfield FC that's all.

Far from it I acknowledged the ongoing injury crisis at Saltegate but yet you fail to acknowledge the comparative squad spends. They ain't for a fleck, madden, Grigg wages have they? You are allowed to, but you don't have to if you would rather ignore.

Both new to the league right? Cancels each other out?

Yes you are correct we are most likely outspending Bromley FC, well done you for figuring that out.

But once again, as I’ve pointed out, many of those high earners you talk of (Grigg, Dunkley, Fleck, McFadzean etc) aren’t & haven’t been available for some time.

So shall we keep going over this again and again or do you think your big brain can process it this time?

Unbelievably we've had 4 red cards in the last 10 games. Maybe 1 of them deserved.

It's getting ridiculous. There was 8 red cards across 3 leagues today alone. It's ruining games. It should only be used as a last resort but referees have seemingly been instructed to give red cards for anything.

Additionally, salford feigned injury on 4 separate occasions today in order to have a team talk. If there's an injury, the players should be instructed to stay where they are or get booked. It's another tactic that's ruining the game.

I agree about the feigned injuries and team talks. Our keeper has played every game this season but has needed treatment on his calf in about twenty of the games. It's cheating and the refs just let it happen.

I'd like to see us go like rugby league and let the trainers attend the injured while the game carries on unless it's obviously a real and a serious injury. It would keep the game flowing and as they're be a man down they'd all stop doing it.

No need to try and be so condescending. Most likely? Thank you for kinda recognising the assumed vast spending difference.

High earners - not available - all well over 30. Big brains and small brains have worked that out.

Happy to stop, as you clearly have about your club's injury crisis :ohy:

MK were exactly how I thought they’d be - Prima Donna esque, tippy-tappy, non-effective football - despite having an extra man (ref again).

Nothing much else to say, other than I hope Patto and Crich are alright.

Up the chickens!

Despite our injury crisis it was good to see the promise in our three young January signings in the second half.

Sounds like we were awful today. Season over now.

Just seen a video of collision which injured Tyrone Williams, not good at all. Boot was signalling for help before he reached ground as were Swindon players who were next to him. Broken neck I’d imagine. Hope it looks worse than it is.

In other news, and apologies if it’s already been posted but seems Matt Sadler won’t be getting a Christmas card off Derek Adams this year… :animatedf:

Utter knob that bloke his team are fighting relegation he is just deflecting the blame elsewhere no one likes him except Morecambe fans and he would drop them in a heartbeat if a better offer came along.
He calls us a long ball team has he seen there pitch? How the fook are you supposed to play football on that surface in high winds? Clown

Solid win for us. Amazing what happens when you're forced to give younger players a chance after serial underperformers (Tracey, Williams and Cooney) are out the side. Played football on the deck and dominated the second half. Defence solid thought JKL in particular stood out, covered a lot of ground and played brilliantly. Midfield had a bit of rhythm about it with Lowery in the side. Good to see both January signings scoring and a solid cameo from Agius setting up Holicek for a deserved third.

Penalty wasn't a penalty imo. It was certainly a foul but looked outside the box to me and having seen it on the highlights my view hasn't changed. Nonetheless, Barrow looked toothless and Pressley wasted two good chances for them in the first half. Second half they offered nothing really of note bar a missed sitter in an offside position.

Really fancy us to get a result at Chesterfield next week. Their season looks to be petering out and we may well have a few bodies back up top for the game too.

Watched all the highlights this morning of the other games and I see Thomas Kirk is back to his old tricks reffing the club he so obviously has an affinity to, Salford City. Baffled how Curtis was sent off for Vale and that card will easily be rescinded I'm sure.

For 30 mins yesterday it looked like Newport-Cheltenham was a nothing game going to be 0-0 and we'd all go home feeling like it was 90 mins of our life we weren't getting back.

Then we scored, a little against the run of play, and absolutely battered Newport for the rest of the game. Our second came from a massive mistake by the Newport keeper and Archer rounded off our best away performance in years in the last 10 mins.

I know it's a big if, but, IF we beat Walsall on Tuesday night and then Grimsby next Saturday, we're suddenly in playoff contention. And I haven't even been considering that all season.

So happy for Michael Flynn (and Liam Kinsella), got a lot of time for him.

Going to be a good game Tuesday - was going to go to the original fixture but can't make the re-arranged fixture unfortunately,

George McEachran take a fucking bow son. What a strike for the opener. Another quality performance all round from him. Really hoping we see him in a Town shirt next season but I'm starting to think the only way that happens is if we go up.

Had to grind it out a bit yesterday but I think that other than the start of the second half we generally dictated proceedings. Great resolve to go back up the pitch and immediately regain the lead after Fleetwood equalised thanks to another assist and goal from Hume and Rose respectively. Three months ago Fleetwood adding a second and beating us would have been a massive likelihood but something is definitely clicking and I don't think it's a system or style of play thing, it's a mentality thing.

Could tell Fleetwood were missing a few, including goal threats. I thought they looked alright at times though. A few decent additions in the summer and they could challenge next season.

Yep big one next Saturday. Hopefully Walsall can tire you out. We'll no doubt be looking to play high energy from the off. If Flynn is doing his usual Flynn stuff I can see this being a bit of a fiesty one. Wouldn't be unusual for a Cheltenham/Grimsby match.

Strange game yesterday, a complete lack of quality, but in a way that it made it quite entertaining in a public execution sort of way.
I thought the first half was very even but then we bossed the first half an hour of the second half until we seemed to think that a point was good enough and sat back
The most noticeable thing was the complete lack of confidence in front of goal from both sides.
That’s twelve without a win now. God, I will be happy when this shit show of a season has finished.

Bit touchy aren`t you? Long ball so what, you have done very well and in my opinion, know when and how to foul to stop the opposition without attracting yellow cards an underestimated skill.

Thank you. I knew a Crewe fan would understand our frustrations given who the referee was. Wonder if Uncle Mark was happy with the decision he gave? Joke how he's even allowed to officiate their games.

It really is bizarre that he's allowed to ref Salford. I seem to remember there was a Facebook post from him at Wembley with his family supporting them against (I think) Wrexham.

As for Crewe yesterday. Lowery is a game changer, and is already transforming our midfield. Tabiner is clearly a winger and I can't believe none of us realised that in the preceeding 3 years. Holicek looks very comfortable out wide as well, which is probably because he played most of his academy Football there.

We need to stick with the 433/4231 now. Yes, it means we're a bit more open, but I think we've got goals in us with Long, Lankester and Bogle returning in the not too distant future.

Also a shout out to Callum Agius. That touch and run for the 3rd goal was excellent. Somebody that has that type of quality needs to be involved with the 1st team, and he should keep his place on the bench even when we have players returning. A criticism I have of Bell is his reluctance to use some of the academy players. Agius should be further along in his development, in my opinion.

I do like the little rivalry our clubs have - certainly better than the fake one with FGR.

I have always seen this so called rivalry as very odd,and very one sided.

I recall a night game when a Cheltenham fan, dressed in smart suit and tie, spent all the game gazing at the visiting fans and making hand gestures from start to finish. Looked to be in his late 40’s. Very bizarre.
We then had Harry Pell taking to Twitter to try and ignite rivalry and Wright stamping on our keeper for a laugh.
Tbh, Cheltenham isn’t a rivalry in NE Lincs,

The rumours aren’t great all. Fear the worst given the pretty much media blackout post the game

It was only after the Wright incident that I was even aware of it. The meltdown on here from Grimsby fans after the Wright incident was more glorious than Mozzavale's on here this past week over league 2 referees. The hatred for Pell has always made me laugh as well - I'm still not sure what it's all about (something about him being rubbish when he played for you, but it must be more than that given how much he's despised).

For me there always seems to be a bit of an edge to the games even though there's no malice between the supporters - I've never had an issue with any Grimsby fans, in fact I'm quite vocal in my fondness of the ones I saw after the playoff final in 2006.
