I see nothing but a Port Vale win tomorrow, unfortunately.
Please justify that forecast.
The bookies don't share it.

Hope the pitch plays better tomorrow, it was awful Saturday. Looks fine on the eye but it’s bobbling all over the place again. Similar to last season… great finish from that bobble to score Walsalls third!

The bookies didn't share my confidence in Brexit, but look where we ended up. Looking at the squads, it says it all. Port Vale have a much superior squad than you and I've already given extensive reasoning and justification on why I think you're nowhere near as good as the table shows.

Well then FGR are doing bloody well for a poor team.
Others must wish they were as poor as us [I think not]

If we do have a superior squad (not so sure on that) most of the best players in that squad will be sat on the treatment table tomorrow unfortunately.

I consider James Gibbons up there with their wing backs as the best at this level (especially this season)… he’s out. Conlon out. Proctor who got both at their place out. We had relatively kept pace with FGR and in Mid November were a goal away after 65 minutes against Bradford of over taking them but since then we’ve flopped for various reasons.

FGR have had the luck needed so far injury wise but you have to credit their consistency. It’s phenomenal for this level. Sure they will slip up at some point but they will win the league by 10+ points at least.

Brexit has been superb hasn't it. How is your food and fuel bill looking this week.

Thanks for the insight. All that said, as long as you aren't more than a goal down at half time, you will come away with at least a point.

We have a horrible habit at Valley Parade of sitting very deep in the 2nd half trying to protect a 1 goal lead, we are usually unsuccessful.

The first 'Adams out' chants heard yesterday which will only intensify if he persists with his dreadful tactic of sitting deep after taking the lead.

It's got 1-1 all over this game
I really don't think you appreciate how awful we are.
2-0 at least.

You tore us apart at our place.. Exeter had 1 shot on target at home against us. Think that says it all.
Yes it says that we have needed a striker since November, and FGR didn't have a shot on target against us at home, so...

Exeter really should be in the play-offs this year, they are one of the few teams to have successfully shut us down this season, in both games. Really skilled and tactical. But jeez their fans really hate Jordan Moore-Taylor!

Port Vale for some reason we've tended to struggle against, especially away (although thinking of that beautiful Reece Brown goal in the final seconds of a game a few years ago that really cheered our return from Burslem), and they're obviously a capable squad, and I think they could do us over....

We were certainly depleted by both injuries and a suspension (of Adams) when we played them earlier in the season (the whole team had put their bodies on the line in the EFL cup game against Brentford earlier in the week), and I don't think we'd quite got our defense working togther fully then, either. I'd expect this game to be close, could go either way.

Given that Vale went on to play Brentford in the FA cup, losing 4-1, whereas we lost to them 3-1, I think my money would be on 1-0 to FGR, just about. But let's see.

We actually have a much better record in this fixture away than we do at home. 3 wins away in all comps, 1 at Vale Park. Although we’ve shared a fair few draws over our meetings.

Remember that 0-2 game mainly as we’d just dug ourselves out the relegation mire only for the chairman to threaten to throw us in administration in an explosive interview at 2pm on the day of the game! Wasn’t a happy place that day, especially as he had bidders (thankfully he didn’t!)

We also got Michael Brown sacked after the ignominy of Vale only drawing 1-1 at home to us in a relegation 6 pointer in 17/18.

We’ve had several managers lose their jobs after the embarrassment of losing to us in the past, not often been a draw that’s finished them off!

We got Dave Challionor the sack from AFC Fylde after they failed to beat us in October 2019. The match had been postponed.

One shot on target at your place, which was what I was referring to. You were definitely second best that day.

100% you were by far the better side, but we ground out a point when miles off our best, which says a lot about why we’re doing so well imo. On paper we don’t have a particularly outstanding team, for example 2 of the players that shone at Tranmere on Saturday were on the bench at Stevenage this time last year, but the organisation and work rate has been brilliant.

Sum greater then the parts for sure, but we do play good stuff the majority of the time too, which is reflected in our goal difference.

Consistent results not performances. Consistently dreadful based on the 3 times I've seen them anyway.

Yes, because as our resident real football expert points out, everyone knows results and performances are entirely unrelated :D
If we had been better on saturday and FGR had not been as good and we had scored a goal and they hadn't we would have won. Unfortunately that did not happen. However Devon Lad only sees what he wants to see, so unlike the rest of us his world is different. Bullshitland to be precise.

I think that was more the relegation followed by 6 straight defeats that finished him

I do think a win might have kept him in the job a little bit longer at least?

https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/port-vales-colin-garlick-says-479078

It would no doubt have bought him slightly more time but would only delay the inevitable as he was out of his depth. We were horrible to watch with our ancient midfield of Kay, Tonge and Pugh and peoples patience had already run out. Will give Brown one thing in retrospect and that was he did sign Worrall.

Casey did get it wrong - Torres scored the winner against Derby County in the 3rd round - but we did beat you 3 - 2 after extra time in the replay in the second round after a 1-1 draw at Crawley - it was the season we got promoted to the football league from the conference. It was the coldest night ever and was surprised that the game when ahead -
