We welcome new boys Harrogate to Cleethorpes for a 19:45 kick-off. Most games seem to be starting earlier though. They seem to have began their first season up here very well and are above us in the league, however: We have a game in hand and have really kicked in over the last 3 games (6 goals and 7 points in 8 days, all away). I expect our recent improvement to continue and we gain another 3 points.

Tough one for us at Cambridge in a battle of the best attack v best defence.

These have tended us Askey to be the games where we do well in so hopeful that kind of form can continue but will be far from easy and we will have to be at our very best to get anything as they will be full on confidence.

We were much improved Saturday and hopefully our later win against Salford will ease some of the confidence issues we seem to have had up front. One positive throughout the season has been how solid we have been, 2 goals conceded in our last 7 league games (1 pen) and 0 with Smith in the team (5 games) so hopefully we can deal with their threat.

Got a few injuries so not sure if any are likely to return for this so imagine the same set up and team that played Salford, maybe bring Theo in for Rodders.

Point would be ok here with their form but with Vale we will probably win this then lose at Oldham!

Actually genuinely excited to be parting ways with a tenner to be watching Town. Nice to have that feeling. No idea what our XI will be as we're now fully into Saturday/Tuesday games for 13 out of the next 14 weeks I think it was Holloway said.

I watched Harrogate at Bradford last week and it's gonna be a tough match, they're very well drilled under Weaver but hopefully we can get on the front foot early and cause them problems like we've done in the previous two matches.

Colchester are clearly looking forward to welcoming us tomorrow, they've even launched a special kit ahead of the game.

Walsall at home! Tough one - they seem to have improved a lot since last season.

Although the performance/result away at Mansfield was convincing, I’m sure we’ll make changes.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Bryce Hosanah
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Anthony O’Connor
LB: Connor Wood

CM: Elliot Watt
CM: Callum Cooke
CM: Harry Pritchard

CAM: Billy Clarke

ST: Clayton Donaldson
ST: Lee Novak

I’d probably take a draw, but we’re more than capable of taking all 3 points - especially being at home.

Prenton Park isn't a ground we do well at, we usually lose there. Plus we cannot defend.

This could end up as another 3-2 either way or another 2-2 for us, I look forward to us creating chances and maybe scoring a few only for my expectations to drop as we concede for fun as usual and pick up more silly bookings due to our poor team shape.

Both managers are under a bit of pressure here, I'm not confident we'll win but if we're lucky we may sneak another 2-2 draw.

Crawley away at Exeter.

A team we seem to do well against regardless of the current form of each team...not to say we always get points just it always seems to be a proper game.

Nadesan went off injured on Saturday but Watters, his replacement, changed the game and got two goals. I'm not sure if Watters has the fitness to last the full game as he joined us from non league so the forward line up is anyones guess after Tom Nichols who is Yems' favourite at the moment.

Midfield looked a bit lightweight v Morecambe but Hessenthaler and Powell should keep their places but we may see new loan signing Jake Hesketh get some time but probably from the bench. The defence has been the same four since the second game. Morris will be in goal.

2-1 the Grecians (sadly).

Crawley at home, who must be our bogey team at SJP. Think we’ve only picked up 2 points in their last four visits...

Crawley are dangerous up front, always rated Nadesen and Nichols will undoubtedly score.

Hopefully we will keep our mini run going and get another 3 points. I will say we may just sneak it 2-1 but it won’t be easy that’s for sure.

5, 6, 7 who knows how many we will lose by?

We conceded 4 two weeks ago, 5 on Saturday, I think we will continue the trend and concede 6 this game.

If Salford have any potential managers watching tomorrow they will be wanting to sign up immediately as I'm sure we will make them look the complete side and a certain promotion contender.

I still can't believe whats happened to your team. I remember a couple of seasons ago you were near the bottom of Div3 and you went out and bought a lot of reasonable players ( well i thought they were reasonable anyway) .I thought well thats Scunthorpe saved anyway and for a few weeks you were going great guns. Then you dropped like a stone and been in free fall since. What happened?

Tbf - we're shit at home since getting walloped by Northampton in the playoffs.

We "should" win tomorrow night, but I wouldn't put any money on it.

I will, you lot are 100% going in my midweek acca. Should be an absolute banker, no offence to Scunthorpe. They really are terrible.

It's a strange one. We seem to bring in relatively good managers and sign good players yet they just don't work out here for whatever reason.

Our chairman often falls to fans pressure which is another huge issue. Football fans are incredibly fickle and emotional, we want managers sacked just cause we've lost 3 in a row. It happened with Stuart McCall the season you're talking about, he wasn't going to take us places that season but we'd have been well clear of safety. After a bad run of form our fans called for his head and he was sacked. We didn't win another game all season and went down.

Same thing happened with Hurst last season.

We're in freefall right now. A lot of our fans are calling for our chairman to leave but they fail to realise this club will never have people queuing up to buy it. If he goes we go.

He looked good on Saturday.
Like a lot of players he seemed behind on his fitness levels and that led to some positional faux pas but hopefully he is back up to speed now.

Pre match interview on youtube with Yems. As usual he is full of praise for Exeter as a club and town. I think he fell in love with the place when he was Tisdale's assistant.
He also said Nadesan is injured. After the performance Saturday Watters should start but I would expect to see Rico German at some point..

I don't think you know how bad we truly are, we would lose to most national league sides.

Port Vale at home which will be tough. I suspect we’ll change our formation again with Hoolahan coming in for Ironside which is harsh on him having scored two at the weekend.

For once we have a squad full of players who deserve to start so a bit of a selection headache for Bonner.

............Mitov.................
Knoyle Taylor Darling Iredale

Hannant Digby Boateng Dunk

..............Hoolahan.................
..............Mullin.......................

I see your point, but it's a very Cheltenham thing to do.

I'll never forget 04/05 when we went to Cambridge, who were bottom, and lost 1-0. 10 days later we went to Kiddy, who had replaced Cambridge at the bottom - and lost 1-0!!!

Looking forward to the challenge tomorrow! Mansfield have started well obviously! Hannant for us was pretty average (he always gave 100% and was a likeable lad though!) but he seems to have really come on for them. Ironside played for then local rivals Macclesfield and had a pretty poor record, but seems to be part of a good partnership up top with Mullin. I looked at the starting 11 of Mansfield in their last game and didn't see anything to really fear, but clearly they play and work as a team, and although Mullin is probably just in a purple patch right now, going by his previous, they will pose a big threat.

As for us, I said before a ball was kicked this season we'll have one of the best defensive records in the league this season. 6 games in and just 2 goals against backs up my claim. We are struggling going forward though as Askey is still trying to find the best formula. Amoo has been a big miss and his comeback will make a considerable difference. If Askey can't get a tune out of Amoo, Montano, McKirdy and Worrall out wide with one of Pope, Cullen or Robinson up front then he's doing something very wrong.

Best defence against the best attack currently in League Two tomorrow, so something has to give. I fancy us to take something. I know for certain Cambridge won't be putting 5 past us though. 1-1.

Are you playing Mansfield or Cambridge?

I remember we used to be so reliant on Amoo but he was always bloody injured. I do hope he isn’t fit tomorrow though.

Such a shame we can’t be at the abbey tomorrow to give Legge a warm reception.

2-1 to the U’s.

Am sure Mitch Clark will be delighted with the news Kettle is the ref. Suppose we were always going to have him do one of of our games at some point. Just need to be smarter about how we play him.

Be a tough game and generally in the past when playing Cambridge it tends to favour the home team so would edge towards them but I was encouraged by our last effort against Salford. We won’t hammer anyone as we are not that sort of team but looked more of a unit than the team that looked like strangers against Carlisle.

We’re starting to see the benefits of having a massive squad, 2 very different sides managed 3 goals in 2 tough away games so confidence is high.

A win tomorrow would be huge for morale but Holloway seems very wary of how good Harrogate are

All this talk about how awful Scunthorpe are and yet they have beaten someone, which is more than Barrow can do.:lol:

Cambridge one of about 90 grounds in the football league we have a shit record at. Trevor kettle as ref might aswell not bother now expect penalties and red cards. Aslong as we win 1 of these 2 away games then I'd be happy it's better than what most would predict 2 draws from cambridge and oldham.
