Walsall at home! Tough one - they seem to have improved a lot since last season.

Although the performance/result away at Mansfield was convincing, I’m sure we’ll make changes.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Bryce Hosanah
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Anthony O’Connor
LB: Connor Wood

CM: Elliot Watt
CM: Callum Cooke
CM: Harry Pritchard

CAM: Billy Clarke

ST: Clayton Donaldson
ST: Lee Novak

I’d probably take a draw, but we’re more than capable of taking all 3 points - especially being at home.

Home advantage has diminished for most clubs this season, more so us with our large following vocally backing the team. There has in fact been one more away win than home win in this division so far this season.

We lost at home for the first time in 12 months last week, and then went on and won for the first time away in 12 months a few days later.

Going for a tight 1-1 tonight. Hopefully tinkerman McCall doesn't change formation and selects an unchanged side from our last outing at Mansfield. Not holding my breath though as he seems to select teams and formations to counter the opposition instead of selecting a side for the opposition to think about us instead, the Harrogate game was a classic example

Draw at best for us tonight. We just can't score more than once and don't keep clean sheets either.

notloB at home for us - the game all Barrow fans looked for when the fixtures came out (no not because they are a big team Maisy). Annoying we can't watch in person and have to resort to iFollow.
We've drawn all 3 home games 1-1, but should have won all 3. If Quigley and Reid both play we'll win this one... 3-1 to Barrow, hopefully.... and hopefully followed by a great read in the Bolton (relegation) thread.
Yes it is your biggest game of the season simply because of Evatt.
And again a shame you dont have a chance to make a few bob from fans attending......We would shift anything you would give us for this 3000 easy.
I would expect a reaction from Saturday. Simply not good enough but the way we play does not suit the personal we have.
Injuries...Politic [season] Edwards long term.......Tom White Gethin Jones Nov/Dec
Shaun Miller two weeks May have Lloyd Isgrove tonight.
If he plays the Same team System as he did Saturday you will beat us.
If he goes 442 and Brings in Darcy, Tutte and Isgrove we will turn you over

Whilst yes I agree these are all in their own way decent players it’s hardly Askeys fault that Pope took an absolutely abysmal penalty against Carlisle or Rodney misses an easy header from three yards out.

His job is to organise the team into a solid unit where everyone knows their role within it and by and large he has done that during his time as manager. The onus is on the players to do what we pay them to do so as far as I’m concerned it’s on them not the manager if we fall short.

When you're randomly choosing games to drop Conlon and Joyce for Whitehead and Burgess, while also changing formation for no sensible reason, then that's on the manager. I do agree that he's got a lot right in his time at the club since he joined and long may it continue. But you can try to sugarcoat it any way you like - 5 goals in 6 league games is nowhere near good enough and that needs improving asap! It's not realistic or fair to expect our defence to bail us out game after game.

The Carlisle performance is on John to be fair making the decisions he did in terms of selection and formation, have to respect Carlisle may have won regardless and played well but he dropped a huge bollock with that line up and system.

We've never beaten Crawley at home in the league. I'm hoping we can rectify that today as I've put quite a bit of money on a 4 fold and Exeter are in it.

He's a lower league manager and he will get things wrong sometimes. I get that. Though I don't know one other Vale fan that would have put out the same 11 as he did against Carlisle. But we shouldn't be as incompetent going forward as we have been in these first handful of games. For me it's ridiculous to keep playing Rodney out wide, the kid is a rookie learning the game. And also it seems Worrall makes the team regardless of how he's performing based on what he's done in the past which simply shouldn't be the case when we have a strong squad.

Once Amoo is back it should be him and Worrall on the wings, Montano as an attacking left-back to add pace to the side with either Pope, Robinson or Cullen up top, depending on the opposition. With Rodney and McKirdy used as impact players for the time being. If we don't start to score goals soon with that personnel then that's on the manager. We have the players to score goals and gets shots on target, he needs to get a tune out of them.

I like Rodney but agree, bags of pace but very raw. I think we've struggled to create with the lack of pace out wide who can deliver, Rodney has the pace but isn't a winger and his decision making is not good enough yet.

Worrall has been off the boil so far this season but he isn't about pace so missing that to compliment, maybe similar to the position when we had Hannant the other side, with Amoo we have something else, put Monty there and its a bit better though.

I don't think to be fair to Askey the strikers have really hit form yet, Cullen did well got injured. Robinson had been good in patches, Pope banned and Rodders played out wide.

I am sure we will get there with the form and line up but is frustrating at the moment. Hopefully with the confidence from Saturday we will see further improvement tonight.

I hadn't realised Tom Nichols now plays for Crawley. That's at least one goal nailed on for them then. Our ex-players always score against us. And as he was an academy product, he'll probably get 2.

All this talk about how awful Scunthorpe are and yet they have beaten someone, which is more than Barrow can do.:lol:
Just all the more annoying that is was us. They were certainly pretty poor against us, but we couldn't find a way through against a keeper who is apparently normally shite but played a blinder against us; made a couple of defensive errors, one of which resulted in the only goal of the game.

If the game had gone the way most of the play did we'd be two points clear at the top of the table right now.

Any other clubs having problems with iFollow today? Usual page where you buy a pass, or in my case enter my season ticket code on the club website just comes up with an error. Trying to determine whether this is a problem with club's website or a wider iFollow problem.

They always start well, then go on a 20 game winless streak... then win 10 in a row and repeat!

What's the camera like at Cambridge in regards to iFollow? I don't want to order again if the camera angle is the same as it was in the Morecombe match away. It was an absolute abomination, so much that after 5 minutes I turned it off. (Not that I missed much in the end)

You mean like the old Highbury on Match of the Day used to be like!

Our starting 11 is just pathetic. A CB playing LB, a CM playing RB.

I can't pretend to know Cheltenham's side too well but I am sure it's better than ours.

Oldham away tonight. On current form we should win, but we got hammered there only a month or so ago. They’ll probably have the psychological edge for that reason and will be boosted by their win at the weekend.

Don’t think it will be 3-0 again, but I’m going for a tight 2-1 win for Oldham. Hope I,m wrong and we can continue this momentum.

Not only is our team terrible, our manager and assistant won't be at the game.

Our assistant Mark Lillis is awaiting a Covid test and our manager is obviously been in close contact and is isolating.

What a season this is.

Might help you improve....

Look at the other Irons when Moyes wasn't there.

You'd think until you find out our manager for this evening is our manager from last season, Russ Wilcox, who is an awful manager.

You should be fine as it’s literally 20 foot up on the half way line. It’s possible you might not see the two corners on the same side as the camera due to the overhang of the stand (can’t remember) but the rest will be perfect. Oh and we have the best pitch in the league too so you can gaze in its wonder on ifollow.

Think we can be cautiously optimistic tonight even with the absences, the others lads did OK Saturday, they have that game under their belts and we have Winchester back too. Colchester seem to have stuttered a bit but surely have it in them to get it together, so might go tits up but hopeful we'll at least continue the unbeaten start.

Theo Robinson in for Rodney the only change and Cullen makes the bench. Sensible change Theo caused problems when he came on at the weekend.
