Really surprised Molyneux hasn't kicked on for you lot.
He’s been gash for the most of the season but you can say that for most of the squad. I really fear for next season because Schofield wants to play a style we don’t have the players for and we won’t spend enough to get those type of players in unless the current board sell to someone who will.

Strange how one person sees things one way and another...

I thought Donny had some decent players but were drilled to sit deep and prevent us from scoring. Not what I'd like to watch week in week out but they almost got a win. When we try it we let in bucket loads of goals ( not just this season).

I can see why the fans are frustrated but I can also see why they are not in the same dirt pile as us.

Saving all your goals for when you come to us no doubt.

Not kidding when I say we should’ve scored 5, McAtee has been absolutely everywhere

Another truly atrocious first half performance by Mansfield, particularly defensively. We have created chances and Oates basically messed up a 1 v 1 but Grimsby have had atleast a dozen really good chances fortunately a shocking lack of quality in that final third means the game is still open. McAtee looks predictably dangerous but then buckles at the final hurdle.

Another half of that and you imagine they will start going in the net for Grimsby.

I’m not even sure most have been bad finishes though, 2 very good saves & 1 sublime lob hits the inside of the post. Other chances have fallen to Waterfall & Smiths feet and the finishes have been predictably awful.

The lob looked like a cross to me, he did fumble one in the penalty spot late in the half, Pym did make one really good save to be fair.

Biggest issue for us is lack of midfielders as I’ve been saying recently, not got one fit player that can hold the ball and distribute.

If we’d have been playing anyone decent we’d have lost long ago, what a miserable performance

A cross?!

Predictable second half that, should’ve put them to bed which recently we’ve been doing.

Must be so frustrating being a Mansfield fan, spunking a shed load at it every season and it panning out the same way. They don’t seem to have progressed at all in the past few years based on that.

Should have put to bed an awful Mansfield side but that’s what having no goalscorer does to you.

I reiterate that was a dreadful, insipid performance and with respect had we played anyone decent we’d have got battered.

Clough once again insists on playing boateng so it’s like starting with 10 men, we’re caught down the wing time in time out.

That was dreadful from start to finish, rode our luck in the first half and didn’t look like scoring. Not sure how our fans can justify the awful job Clough is doing this season.

Tbf Boateng worked his nuts off second half to go man to man on McAtee which reduced us to feeding off scraps

We are a mid-table side with the current players avaliable and it won’t get better till the injured players return.

Saying that just like at Stockport, another side unable to finish off a poor Mansfield side without 10 players. This league is rubbish and we play a great part.

I’d have took him off earlier, the problem with boateng is even when he works hard and does something he gives it away once more straight away, the lads a complete and utter fraud.

Same for us, if we’d played against anyone decent we would’ve been punished for missing so many chances.

I said repeatedly on this forum we are currently there for the taking, not our fault nobody wants to take it.

Defence is shaky out wide due to playing strikers in those positions, not one single midfielder is available that can get the ball down and play it about, now Oates is back we don’t have much of a excuse for being so pitiful upfront to be fair.

Despite playing him on the wing and then putting in crosses and no-ones there. We’ve got a shocking injury list but i still expected much better than that.

Play anything like that on saturday against sutton and their “interesting” take on football and it’s all the makings of a stinker, thankgod i can’t make it!

Yes and after that first half the sort of game we usually lose 1-0 with a goal on circa 81 mins following a defensive, so in that respect a decent point.

Seems an awful lot of wrist slashing from Stags fans considering still all to play for.

Amazing how we all see a game differently isn't it? Thought we bossed the first half but missed our chances.

Second half was mostly Mansfield as we tired, poor finishing by both teams ensured it stayed 0-0.

Hurst certainly 'went for it', but we just were not good enough in front of goal.

I hear he was close to tears after the stinging criticism of the Brighton performance from Cumbria’s top football pundit and responded with an “I’ll show him” line-up…

I believe we were looking at either 10 wins and 2 defeats or 9 wins and 3 draws out of our last 12 matches in order to the make the playoffs. Hurst is obviously going with the latter option and looks like he's getting the draws out of the way first.

Does anyone happen to know if Adam Stag thinks we're decent, by the way? Don't think he's mentioned it?

On a serious note, three back to back clean sheets sandwiching an absolute battering at Brighton over the weekend. I'm happy with that. 8 points from the last 12. Most of our defence and midfield are contracted next season. Get those attacking spots sorted out/upgraded and we'll be in the mix, I'm sure.

We aint decent but will happily take the points of you in our next two games after Saturday. Especially love to put one over on Clough for his ' never have to play Crawley again' comment

We have our own injury problems and Lynch will probably be missing for these two games due to concussion protocols (got a knock v Donny and chucked up on the pitch). We didn't gave a centre half to replace him and v Waterfall that could be a problem.

Getting the draws in early give us a chance of securing the Mid-Table Cup as a consolation...

The last 3 games we’ve only had 4 shots on target, it’s been 3 pretty depressing performances going into the business end of the season. Obviously we’re not out of it but unless we magically start getting our midfield back to fitness or teams start gifting us goals we’re going to struggle to keep up with the pace.

I thought given your performance sunday you were brilliant yesterday, it’s just my point was had we played a top side we’d have got battered (as we did in our last home game against salford) we should’ve lost really.

Yes we’re riddled with injuries but clough contributed massively last night, once again far too late with his subs - the changes in midfield should’ve happened on the hour mark, yet clough decides to wait until the 83rd minute - utterly ridiculous.

His love in with boateng is tedious, the lads an absolutely fraud

I was extremely disappointed that there was no mention of ‘Teams like Grimsby’ from him in the build up too.
