Avoided a midweek trip to Stevenage by missing three penalties against Wycombe. Played.

Playing the reserves on Tuesday, obviously I am boycotting it but will be interested to see if we can beat 'the best Academy in England'....

First ever cup tie between Shrewsbury and Rochdale.

They're a division higher, but have had a poor start to the season. Our young lads and loanees are starting to settle in, and three of them got their first FL goals on Saturday.

If we play sensibly and keep concentration, we should be able to win this tie - here's hoping, anyway!

I don’t think I’ll bother with Shrewsbury tomorrow. Not particularly fussed if we go out or not, so long as there are no injuries. And an extra game might be good to help give the squad more minutes together. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we do win given Shrews seem to have had a really poor start.

Winner of our game against Harrogate will go third in the league.

We'll likely make one or two changes after Saturday, Aaron Drinan is injured and Connor Wood apparently out of favour already after a falling out with Jackett, so I'd expect Shadrach Ogie to fil in at left back.

Wood seemed like the least argumentative person around when he was here, but although I don’t have any evidence an interview he did last year he just seemed down and I think he’s had mental health issues during Covid. He talked about being isolated and away from home and the struggles, tbh he wasn’t the same player for us post Covid as he was before. It was like a spark had gone out, I thought moving back south would help but maybe there’s more to it. Long term I can see him being one of those players who never fulfilled his potential which is a shame.

Hoping for a physical game with a few sendings off :-)

I wonder if Lewis 'wanting to play at a higher level' Page will be fit for this one?

Indeed, he was taken off in the last home game against Exeter, I was under the impression he had a minor knock as this had been done a few times before in pre season and the first game, but Jackett said in his interview Saturday that only Drinan and no one else was injured.

But Wood apparently didn't like it and made his feelings clear right after the game and Jackett is now stamping down his authority on the team , think he's done this sort of thing before. Our left back selection tonight will be very telling.

Good litmus test this for the season, at home to Harrogate on a Tuesday night is the sort of game we really should be winning if we realistically have our eyes set on a top 3 spot, or indeed top 7.

Have to say I don't know too much about Harrogate, but they've obviously stabilised well to league 2. We've got a great record against them so hopefully that can continue, a few injuries to our already-limited forward line won't help either, but Smith looked good when he came on against Carlisle so hopefully he can do it again.

Reckon it'll be a tight game, 1-0 Orient.

You don't know much about Harragit, Well let me tell you not many
people in Harragit know there,s a football club there.
And if clubs had to live within thier means Harrgit would be NLN at best.
Enjoy the game, you really should win this one.

Brentford will be tough but an enjoyable game + great away day, they’ll rotate so we’ve got half a chance.

We’d sold 550 tickets on Sunday apparently so should be a decent following (for us) tonight.

I was going to go to this one myself this evening, then our game got rearranged for tonight. Think they'll be a decent crowd there with alot of ground hoppers getting their 92 grounds back!!

I don't care about this tournament at all but we desperately need a win to build momentum. 2 wins in 24 games is abhorrent and we need every win we can game regardless of this being a sham of a competition.

Villa at home tonight and as we'll pick up around £200k overall from the match that's already a win.
As for the game it probably depends what team Villa put out - a decent performance and a goal would be good.

Good luck to all the L2 teams competing in the league cup tonight. Looking forward to seeing Barrows game on Sky. Also very good luck to FGR, hope you get the win and your players run themselves into the ground in doing so (unapologetically selfish reasons from a Vale perspective).

See Oldham fans wasted no time in starting the protests against their owner. Good on them, hopefully they can force that clown out.

Harrogate in front at Orient. Thought they might be an under the radar type who could do alright this season. Obviously a long way to go in that game though.

Surprises me that Jason Taylor still gets in the barrow team. Is he in due to injuries or is he first choice?

Sad to report there are 1669 watching our kids against Chelsea kids tonight. The boycott has ended (not for me).

Maybe a final between Chelsea and Manchester City under 21s is exactly what this competition deserves
