most sides in action on Tuesday with postponed fixtures.

we face forum banter kings Mansfield (although I guess the banter is really just with Wrexham and they probably aren't arsed about us) who are in inconsistent form and could be a cheeky bet for the mid-table trophy this season.

Sure to get the backlash from Birmingham on Tuesday. Can see a heavy defeat sadly. Let's hope if they do score Stanno gets one.

Out of form and missing Lee gregory it’s an interesting one.

We’re better away by some distance, losing only 2 - deservedly so at lincoln, and wt wrexham despite being the better side.

We’ve a league run of wycombe away, huddersfield home charlton away, rotherham home, peterborough away, reading away, bolton at home and lincoln home - a run that will almost certainly put pay to a position that maybe we’re fortunate to be in.

I’d be delighted to match a point a game in that run and expect nothing at wycombe tuesday.

We had any update on Gregory? Desperately missed him today.

Yeah not expecting anything Tuesday against a Wycombe side that will stay in that promotion battle I think, we are usually a potent threat offensively (excluding the last two) so I think we will get back to scoring goals I just doubt we can keep them out.

I heard it was a scan on his knee, nothing more.

Could (and hopefully is) bollocks, but if he’s out for a while it’s going to be a massive loss with a capital M.

Evans was poor by his standard today but has to take the lead if this comes to pass with gregory, as said on stagsnet it was perverse that akins came off when Waine came on as he’ll need either akins or boateng to feed off - the lads too slight to do anything on his own.

Like you i expect fuck all tuesday night and would eagerly take a point now

Wycombe being top is something I don't think will last, but how they are there is some doing. Is it top quality players they have? Some would argue no, but the coaching staff are working miracles with them. I'd go to Adams Park wanting a point due to their current form.

Very possible, if not probable, we won’t last in the auto spots, but I’d be disappointed now if we didn’t at least get a playoff spot.

Wrexham fans who’ve only seen us on the first day of the season and thought, hang on, they weren’t that great - well, can’t blame you.

But I would say that back then there were a good few new players that had not bedded in yet, and the manager didn’t yet know his best first XI.

That’s not the case any more.

Two strengths:

Multiple goalscorers - we’re not reliant on a single lead scorer where if they get broken, we’re screwed
Strength in depth - we can rotate most positions and still have a decent side, as opposed to having to rely on squad players who’ll do a job, but you’re not that confident in them.

What can still go wrong:

1) Loanees going back.
Ipswich are unlikely to want midfielder Humphreys back (he’s been excellent for us, but EPL level? Probably not).

Similarly I can’t see Caleb Taylor getting in a West Brom side going for promotion.

Bolton’s Morley is a bigger question mark. Evatt doesn’t seem to rate him, but may recall him anyway so as not to give a L1 rival any more of a leg up.

2) Players getting nicked in Jan

Financially I’m not too worried about this, we have a billionaire sugar daddy. But that’s not the only reason players get their heads turned, it’s a short career and if a bigger club comes in for anyone, you could understand the temptation of playing for bigger crowds, it’s not *just* the £££.

3) Manager getting nicked

We’ve already had speculation about Bloomfield going to Coventry. If we keep winning then bigger clubs are going to come a-poaching.

But I think Bloomfield may feel he’s got a shot at the Championship anyway with us - and a lot of the types of Champ clubs who may be interested are the basket case ones like QPR.

Or of course we could just choke for whatever reason.

But I think we’ve shown potential to beat a variety of teams, from the promotion contenders to the strugglers - we don’t only turn it on for the big games, but equally we don’t crumble when faced with a top-end side.

Wycombe didn't look amazing opening day but you didn't look bad and there was a lot of good stuff about your play so I'm not surprised to see you improving and doing well. Kone also looked a handful so again not a surprise to see him doing well.

For a newcomer into the league the surprise is we were told the jump up in quality was huge from League 2 to League 1 but, this season at least, it isn't- Birmingham have a great squad but some problem with consistency but apart from them everyone is much of a muchness apart from a handful of poor teams down the bottom (and even they can improve as Shrewsbury have shown).

certainly seen the gap at the top and bottom come closer together.
Yesterday first half was a complete shitshow and a continuation of how we played against Stockport.
Second half we scored two hit the post and had a perfectly good goal disallowed........Chalk and cheese.
We are getting a few players back but he is still going two in midfield to get McAtee in his starting eleven.
On paper the 11 who started yesterday was a very strong 11 for this league yet because of how Evatt sets us up we can be woeful.
We will be like this until at least January when we will hopefully have both Dempsey back fit and Morley recalled from Wycombe. Tuesday that starting 11 should brush Cambridge aside but because yet again he will set up the same. The is every chance we will get rolled over.

Stockport County.
Wycombe are no fluke at all. Very good all round team.

Injuries could effect them but that's the same for every team.

Our run in is a bit sickening over the next month and a bit and it starts Tuesday.
