Port Vale fans claiming they’re off down is surely nothing more than dramatic attention seeking.

I think it’s realism.

Our form since beating Southend 2-0 on October 31st excluding paint pot

P17 W2 D4 L11 GF22 GA33 PTS 10

Over a season that equates to what around 26/27 points over 46 games.

February we have an awful run of fixtures into March also by which time the damage will likely be done.

lets not forget that scunthorpe fans were convinced they were going down 7 days ago and now we're level on points with them and they've got a game in hand.

if we continue to gift goals then we're in massive trouble. two defeats in 4 days and at least 4 awful goals to concede is unacceptable.

The squad is better than this. I think we'll be ok because i think carol will be forced to hire a manager if things don't change.

How's Guthrie playing vale fans?

no idea if he's any good yet, i think he's had about 3 passes to him since we signed him.

he did get fouled v Walsall when he was about to have either a free header or a chest down in the 6 yard box in fairness.

He's physical, we may as well play him compared to Theo Robinson who offers nothing.

Maybe we should try him at CB.

You must be forgetting the ease in which you dispatched us a couple of weeks ago, you have some truly awful teams between you and the bottom.

It’s like the rich kid on a night out moaning about how ‘skint’ they are. The genuinely skint ones are sick of hearing you moan about it.

1) He doesn't receive passes as he never moves into good positions.
2)If someone comes near him, he tries to make it look as though he has been fouled
3) Don't play him at CB as he is not very good at heading a ball.

I could be wrong but I don't think Grimsby, Southend or Stevenage have experienced that many injuries or have the flexibility to sign many new players.

We've won the last two games because two new signings in George Taft and Jem Karacan have transformed the spine of the team. We've also been very much injured, we're a bad side but if we'd been able to field our starting 11 at least once this season I think we'd be at least slightly higher up.

I can't imagine those teams I mentioned suddenly turning it on and stringing a few wins together.

Could be wrong, hope I am not as I would very much like Grimsby to struggle.

So, Gary Neville has said Salford are refunding us for the late postponement. Can’t complain.
Don't Club's have to anyway in the case of late postponements?

We’ve been told we have the room for signings and the money, it’s just been seriously disappointing so far. Our fans will say ‘people don’t want to come here’ but we’re in a very similar situation to Scunny in terms of location and league status yet you lot have maneuvered well enough and we haven’t.

Our fans are so accepting of dross that we almost deserve what’s coming.

We've had Hanson out for the whole season, Kyle Bennett started hitting form and is out for 6 weeks with a hamstring, hamstring for Morais as well but not sure how long, loads of niggly ones along the way, Max Wright and Harry Clifton have had a few 2-3 weekers each too now, Edwards was out for over a month almost immediately after looking like our best player, Scannell has been out all season...we just don't bang on about it every other post like you do. Hanson being out the entire seaosn pretty much so far has been massive. Bennett and Morais finally started looking like the types of player that could offer service to someone like Hanson and just as Hanson gets fit again they both do their hammies. Couldn't make this shit up. 27th Jan and we haven't had Hanson and anyone that can cross a ball in the same lineup yet.

Edwards injury at home to Harrogate was the catalyst for our free fall imo. He came back nowhere near as good as before the injury and I can’t remember one decent game since.

If James Hanson is massive to your team then you deserve to be relegated, he's fucking terrible.

Yeah, he looked crap after coming back. Might well have happened either way but we'll never know. The likes of him, Windsor and Williams looked great in that little tiny run when we beat Leyton and Cheltenham. The contrast and drop off between then and now is really frustrating.

Terrible take. He's not gonna bang in 25 goals a season, but a fully fit Hanson in this division causes plenty of problems for most defences.

Sounded fully deserved too. We don’t like Derek Adams for obvious reasons, but we have to admit he’s done a superb job and you’re definitely in the promotion hunt. Got some good players too...That Phillips looks great and Mendes Gomes too.

We’ve hit this rubbish inconsistent spell we seem to get most Januarys. Same happened last year which scuppered us. Our young players who were so good at the beginning of the season have burnt out a bit too, so hopefully Taylor will address that with another signing or two as the squad needs freshening up a bit.

Not looking forward to our trip to Carlisle on Saturday but this may be a kick up the arse and hoping we put it right with a good performance.
Adams is a hard man to like in terms of personality, but he knows at this level what to do to get points. I note he brought in this week another player. Kyle Letheran, he has worked with before.

You’re the same person who claims Mattie Pollock is shite, forgive me for thinking your opinion on players is bollocks. The fact you posted about us ‘not having many injuries’ is a sign to ignore what you say in itself.

I've never said Mattie Pollock is shite. I am simply making fun of SOC claiming he will play in the Premier League like he does anytime someone says their player is above average. Are you new to the L2 section? Anytime anyone says "This player is the best player in the league" or something along those lines they are met with jokes about how the team has signed Pele etc.

On the other hand, I am not joking about James Hanson. He is truly dire.

Oh that's what that was all about. I have revised my opinion now just for the record and I am now saying Mattie Pollock will play in the Championship. I got swept away in a wave of Holloway rhetoric initially.

Say what you will about Hanson, but I've watched him in League Two for the past season and a half (well not so much the half) and you'd rather have him in a dogfight than most strikers in down in the bottom 6/7. Injuries/fitness the main concern with him.

The whole Carlisle squad will, in my opinion.

Im glad you haven't forgotten about us since we've not played any games for a month now and when we come back we'll prove how terrible this league has been without us.

Why? Because we are better than ALL OF YOU.

Guthrie can hold the ball up but that’s about it really, I’d like to see his partnership with Rodney but we need a goal scorer. His record shows he’s not that! I’m not writing him off but you don’t sign a free striker in January if he’s firing in goals

We currently have 10 or so players out.
