What a performance compared to Saturday. We’ve actually started a game properly and look a genuine threat.

By no means perfect as we could do with being tidier in possession, but night and day compared to Saturday. Long May it continue. Hope we can keep it tight second half.

I didn’t think it was possible to do but Efete has got even worse

Who's this team we're playing against tonight? They're absolutely shit!

I hope Simmo is able to address a few of the issues, there's playing the role of an away team, conceding possession and looking to counter, but that was conceding a little too much possession and makes turning around a two goal deficit look very achievable for Grimsby

Now Mellish possibly a new addition to our whopping injury list

Second half much the same as the first, except Grimsby have scored and we haven't, but we're hanging on. I can see we're doing the away team thing but we're not particularly comfortable.

Will always be comfortable against a side that doesn't know how to score goals.

Tough match that, fair play Carlisle. Came and did the job. Second in the shithouse table after Northampton mind.

Not particularly worried despite back to back home defeats, we're looking like a midtable team but one with potential and I'm fine with that for this season. Could slump down to lower midtable but if things click and mistakes are ironed out then upper midtable could also be on the cards.

We’re just so slow.

Taylor needs to come out, we looked miles better without him

I'll take that... not a great performance, dogged, lucky on occasions. Hopefully we're only resorting to those sort of tactics because of the amount of first team players currently missing, good to get an away win.

Well hellogregory..

We're 10 games in now, we're 8th in the league and have only lost 1 game despite having an injury crisis since the start.

Are we still going to struggle to stay up? lol

That was much better than our previous away showings.

Dodgy spell midway through the second half aside, a competent away performance which stops the rot away from home.

It’s great that we’ve accumulated so many points in our first 10 games, because our tougher fixtures are ahead of us. It’s been a good start in terms of points, but we can still play better.

I, unlike Carver, will not settle for drab performances even if we do get points, and will always demand improvements. Tonight wasn’t drab, but I still want us to be better.

10 games in, 5 home and 5 away.
3 points picked up at home.
12 points picked up away.
What the actual fuck?

What a difference it makes having an experienced Championship defender playing for us and also having an apparent 'wank' striker who keeps banging them in!

If it wasn't for all these injuries we've had we would be well up the top end of the table.

That ‘wank’ striker had that goal tonight gift wrapped for him courtesy of Michee Efete.

No injury according to Simpson.

Yes but he still had a bit of work to do after your defenders cock up.

Sorry, but players like that are all you can ever afford.

Losing to the worst team in the EFL, but there is definitely no difference between L2 and the National League.

How long until McAtee is back?? Sure the last I heard was November? Or is it more like Christmas? Start of the season that massive crack was papered over but we're starting to feel it now.

Yeah that's fair on Dennis, it wasn't exactly a tap in, thought he did well to score.

Has anyone said there is no difference?

Wow we had 67% of possession tonight, how did we create so little with that much of the ball?!

It felt like more than that after that second half.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen us give the ball away in a 30 minute spell as often as we did from 60 minutes onwards tonight.

It’s something we need to be much better at.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Carlisle seem to have been very solid all season, had a few games where sides had a lot more possession but most sides score at best one goal with it.

That doggedness has been vital with the injury crisis which really should see Carlisle down the bottom but players who maybe would be but part have stepped up to the plate.

Players coming back later in season doesn’t seemingly mean we will suddenly get better……….may rock the boat.

Hopefully they keep being solid then others come back for larger range of options and stronger squad

Yep exactly this last night, 67% possession and 18 shots (against 5) and we only scored the once.
Sadly for us similar stats have happened a few times at home this season already where we have tons of shots but can’t hit a barn door.

Was a weird one... you can have less possession and still be solid and look threatening, even dominant, but there's a level of possession below which it feels concerning. The team with the ball are the team more likely to attack and score and the amount of the ball Grimsby had, never felt comfortable for us... we defended well for the most part but would have been nice to not have to do so much defending.
