There you have it.

We are garbage.

Can’t keep blaming injuries - we have almost a full 22 man squad available now?
Just awful business in January, and well before that tbh as well. Duffy and Sparkes look decent enough but the rest..... woof

Crap performance from us tonight, crap result from us tonight, yet we gain on the play offs.

Footballs really stupid sometimes isn’t it?

Draw seemed fair though a stupid handball penalty from Turnbull got Grimsby the point.

Just back from the game. Thought Tranmere did ok first half but once they went ahead they resorted to 100% shithousery. Not blaming them, it’s what happens in modern day football.
We huffed and puffed but lacked any real quality. Imho, that is were we are. Lacking the quality for a promotion team. Having said that, it seems that is the case with the entire division, with Bradford being the current exception.
We are still in the mix for the play off’s and if we can take our chances into the last couple of weeks of the season I would see that as huge, and unexpected progress

A tremendous result against Crewe. Inconsistency has plagued this season.
6-2 away at Walsall, followed by beating them 2-0 at home. 4-1 tonight against Crewe
Mediocre results playing teams nearer the foot of the table, all of which adds up to a mid table position Shame Pete Wild didn't come in last August.

We’ve had that result coming at home for months. Been dreadful again and again, was going to catch up with us eventually.

Been through it a million times, but I would struggle to have any less faith that a manager is the right man to take us forward.

I think our best XI, in our current formation on a decent pitch are a match for anyone in this league. Unfortunately, our squad is especially thin for this formation - no cover up front, hence have to resort to Barrington second half, relies on Tharme who may now be injured, and our style of play isn't at all suited to the state of our pitch, which is more suited to Hull KR.

First away win since September or something. Battling response to recent performances. Hopefully another 5 points should be enough.

Mayer charging in to a 50/50 with ridiculous force at shin height, Tracey both feet planted. No foul given, no card produced, nothing.

In all honesty, I don't think he meant to injure Shilow - but it was a stupid amount of force for a half way line 50/50 in the 10th minute of the game.
That's a fair comment mate, Danny Mayor has never come across as a dirty player but these things happen. Adrenaline and all that, hope your guy is slright

That’s because the League, in all honesty, is poor, competitive, but poor

About as bad a night as we could have got. Just as things have started to look up for us, playing decent, winning games and getting players fit, that all took a 360 tonight. Even before the Shilow injury we didn't look on it tonight. But then compounded with that injury. How the ref gives nothing there I will never know. Its a red card all day long. Mayor plays the ball, but when you follow through stood up into a players leg literally snapping it in half, how can that be anything other than a red. It must meet the threshhold for Endangering an opponent and excessive force. So obviously once Shilow is stretchered off, I can only think that Bell has been told by physio ect that Bogle or Long can only play a maximum of 45 mins, as bring on Powell and don't play with a striker for 30 mins until half time when Bogle comes on. In that time Fleetwood score one of the most offside goals I've seen given. We huffed and puffed 2nd half to get back in the game, but then Weirdu fouls and injures Lowery, again nothing given and he has to go off aswell and Fleetwood add a couple more to rub salt into the wounds.

A bad day all round, only slight relief was that pretty much no-one else in the play off hunt won either.

Terrible game on a sub par field - ref was awful tonight and the lino they managed to somehow miss a goal that was a good foot over the line for Tranmere before luckily they scored to even it out . Draw probably fair score for me there

I keep trying to support him but I keep thinking deep down he's not going to succeed. Still time but we're flawed, just so passive.
Our wingers first thought is to lay it backwards, Palmer who I've been a massive fan of wants to endlessly recycle the ball eight yards. It's like we're playing six a side, all very tight and pretty but all in front of the opposition and at a snail's pace.

Would have preferred a jazz festival instead of tonight to be fair. Hopefully Derek changes personel and shape because it's clearly not working against the better teams, despite showing a bit of battle. The less said about last weekend the better though. Hopefully Wimbledon are complacent enough still for us to shithouse a 1-0 win.
You were saying?

Our manager has no clue how to tactically set us up to play at home. 10th multi-goal home defeat of his tenure and he's only had 53 league games. We were horrendous from minute 1, Fleetwood battered us and it's becoming a theme of home games. We perform well one in every 4 or 5 at Gresty Road and whilst we might get results, they are often done through inconsistent processes.

I don't think the challenge from Mayor is anything. It's a 50/50 coming together, really unfortunate that it'll likely rule Tracey out for the rest of the calendar year and he's out of contract at the end of the season.

As others have said, only saving grace is lots of other promotion chasers dropped points, several against strugglers. So most had a bad night. Just got to hope our players can put this out of their mind and get a result at Salford on Saturday.

****ing hell Wimbledon thanks a lot!

Promotion contenders my arse. You'd better be as shit as you were tonight against Morecambe when you come up here.

And Grimsby can **** off tonight too.

It’s taken us a month to turn Whitaker from a dangerous looking second striker playing right around the edge of the opposition box to a guy constantly dropping in to lose the ball in his own half.
