If we get any games on in this league tomorrow I will be amazed. This weather is the last thing clubs needed this season!

Our game at Salford has been brought forward to 5.30 tomorrow evening “to avoid freezing temperatures later on Tuesday night”. So we’ll see if that helps....

Our game against Morecambe *should* go ahead due to our undersoil heating (it’ll probably break now that I’ve said that).

Despite how bad we’ve been this season, I’m desperate to see some Horwich Wanderers football after having our two previous games postponed

Scunthorpe away - this fixture has already been postponed a few weeks prior. I think they’ve had to call off their last two home fixtures, also(?). I’m not sure if this game will get the green light tbh, and I wouldn’t be too bothered if it doesn’t go ahead - it gives us time to get some bodies back at least.

Although, having said that, our local reporter has said Danny Rowe is back; Andy Cook and Gareth Evans might also be fine. Billy Clarke (hamstring) and Novak (knee) still out.

GK: Sam Hornby

RB: Finn Cousins-Dawson
CB: Anthony O’Connor
CB: Paudie O’Connor
LB: Conor Wood

DCM: Levi Sutton
DCM: Elliot Watt

RCM: Oli Crankshaw
CAM: Callum Cooke
LCM: Charles Vernam

CF: Danny Rowe

2-0 City

Why not just play the matches indoors somewhere, doesn't really matter where matches are played as long as they get played does it?

Or we could just play water polo instead?

Five aside games indoors, with players using those bright yellow hi-vis training top bips as part of the kit.

I think this fixture will probably still be on as these parts haven’t had much snow, just a few sporadic bursts throughout the day but not enough for it to settle.

It's not all that cold here, so we should be fine.
It’s fucking freezing here. I’m glad we’re not at home tomorrow night as I think we’d struggle to get the game on and we barely ever have home games postponed.

not sure what's going to happen in this one - we might still be without Platt who failed a fitness test before the Cambridge game, and 4 others went off injured;- Quigley, Chris Taylor, Devitt and Beadling, so there may be quite a few changes.

For any Exeter fans that know who deals with the club website can you point out that their preview is a load of shit...

1) well the Barrow league history part of it is anyway. According to Exeter the following is true;-

"In 1921, Barrow AFC were briefly elected as original members of the Third Division North though it would not be until 1958 until the Bluebird’s return to League football and Division 4"

when infact Barrow joined Div 3 North in 1921 and were members of the league from 1921 to 1972...
It isn't that hard to get your facts right.... Amateurs....

The only thing that happened in 1958 was that Div 3 North and Div 3 South merged and changed to Div 3 and Div 4...

2) In your played for both section there is a piece on Tony Morrin

"At the end of the 71/72 season, Morrin played in which was most likely his most poignant fixture in Red and White. Already relegated Barrow came to SJP on the final game of the campaign,"

Barrow were not already relegated - they didn't even finish in the bottom 2 of the league - In fact they were not relegated at all - they failed to get re-elected at the AGM.

It's been sunny today, with a light dusting of snow and a real chill in the air but nothing terrible. Will be pretty cold overnight for sure but it was cold last night too and it's nothing like we've been seeing on the news in other parts of the country. I've been outside today and there is no frozen ground.

Carlisle game now kicking of at 2.30pm. Good decision, more decisions like this need to be made to get games played.

No fans so it shouldn't matter

Depends on what arrangements operate for season-ticket holders. At TRFC, we sold a number of those and get Ifollow access for home games in part compensation for not being allowed in. If our game was moved to that time, I wouldn’t get to watch it as I’m working then.

Watching us lose whilst working at the same time for me tomorrow afternoon it is then :woo:

The irony for me because I was meant to be in the office this week, but because a colleague got covid 3 weeks ago I had to go in as cover for 2 of those weeks in a row so now I'm WFH again. If I was in the office, I wouldn't have been able to watch properly if at all.

This certainly makes sense to play it in the afternoon, although I can see large chunks of our fanbase are already pissed off with this, but in these strange times it makes sense to try and get the game on as best as possible.

If only Carlisle produced programmes - this one would be a collectors item.

Terrible decision with no consideration for fans who are working and thus denying them the chance to either watch on ifollow or listen on local radio. If I was a fan I would be livid and would rather see it postponed

It's been snowing fairly heavily here non-stop since first thing yesterday morning and below freezing - if we were supposed to be playing tomorrow it would already have been postponed without doubt.

Would imagine a lot of Carlisle fans will look at the bigger picture. Adding to their fixture pile up could wreck their season. If it were me I'd take missing the game as long as it goes ahead. Plus a lot of people are working from home, so you could probably keep a sneaky eye on it anyway. Or just take a late lunch break.

I’d struggle even with WFH if it was Vale...

“Good afternoon... fuck sake Vale!” Wouldn’t go down well...

Its not difficult to phone up and say you have covid symptons and get 2 weeks of work nowadays. Used to be just 2 days for D&V!

Can't speak for every Carlisle fan but I'm sure most just want to see a game on, even if they don't get to see it. We've only played twice since the 2nd of January and we're almost out of days we can play rearranged games that won't see us playing three game weeks.

Seeing as it looks like we have a game tomorrow I may as well write something constructive.

We've not won away from home since November, our home form has mainly carried us this season. The new signings we've made have improved us in our last two games, both have been 0-0 and we do look better with Adam Thompson and Nick Freeman in the team and harder to beat. We're having a sticky patch in front of goal and Johnson is just coming back to fitness.

We've struggled to manage games away from home for a few months, we tend to like to dominate possession but we do piss around with it too much at times.

Another 0-0 wouldn't be a terrible result for us against the best home record, we're not good enough at full back or dymanic enough in central midfield to really push on this season.
