Fully expecting a defeat up at Bolton and we’re struggling a bit at the minute, some players just look absolutely knackered and we can’t keep scoring worldies to get us out of the shit!

im hoping hoolahan plays as he’d love the playing surface as would the boat, but I’d be surprised to see hoolahan play, just hope it’s not a midfield two of may and O’Neil.

Yep I’d take a draw. On the other hand, we’re finally playing a team that will come out and attack us so it might work in our favour - it’s hard to say how good we are when we play someone who doesn’t sit back all game as we haven’t done it for so long.

I doubt Wes will play but we’ve only got one more Tuesday game after this so he should play nearly all the rest of the season (though I guess he might miss one of the Easter games too). So I’m relaxed about him missing Tuesday as we’ll be seeing much more of him.

Boateng has to start for me. We need to be basing our midfield around him when he’s fit.

I don't think anybody could ever envisage this match where the 'little club at top of hill' play regular relegation dodgers as an early promotion 6-pointer.
Although FGR have suffered two defeats in last four games they remain near top of table; their win against Grimsby was one where the team played less well than they did when getting defeated.
So Morecambe must be confident of a good result. Especially that FGR's back line is on the treatment table.
FGR do have a small squad and are being found out with so many injuries but in fairness to the team the replacements have generally come up to the mark, even when playing out of position.
Draw probable outcome, but I will place a home win on Oakie's Prediction Competition.

Need to win again on Tuesday, it's the lack of consistency that is keeping us where we are. The good thing is that we seemed to be saving ourselves in the last half hour yesterday, so hopefully we can choose the same side. With a few teams at the top playing each other there could be some big changes this week.

Newport away, in Cardiff. Mentioned that the change of venue (on a decent pitch) may be a leveller, hoping so at least.
We’ve played the same 11 (apart from swapping Rowe and Cook) twice a week for a while now and feel this could be the game we freshen up after a leggy display against Bolton.
Hopeful 2-1 win.

Getting into must win territory for us really, three home games then Colchester away so a huge four games to try and get out the mess. Need to win 2 of those four I’d say.

This is going to be a must win game for us against Tranmere. We need to start scoring some goals and picking up some wins and start dragging teams like Colchester and Port Vale in to the mix.

We will certainly have you on the back foot. Would love for you to come out and have a go at us
Last time we played at home against barrow they parked not only a bus but a submarine.
Two banks of 5.Thankfully the was no crowds to witness such dross.
For your Hoolihan we have Kieron Lee who we wrap in cotton wool. He may be missing Tuesday
Thomason will take his place if Lee is missing. Another player who will cover 12km
Bradford tried to play against us yesterday and completly got over run [outplayed]
We just cannot kill teams off.
Expect a triple substitution around the 65min mark to keep our high pressing game until the end.
Players have come off the bench to score in 5 of the last six games

It’s a good time for anyone to play Rovers as we try to adjust to life without James Vaughan. I don’t think would start Nugent for the away games, he’s coming back to match fitness but a different more traditional striker than Vaughan. Probably a front 3 with Woolery central the best option. Kieron Morris likely to be available again. Southend in something of a resurgence, can’t say am feeling confident about this one, but after the weekend disappointment it should show whether we’re capable of getting back on track.

Night on the sofa for us, as ourselves and Walsall decided to move our game back to Friday as we both had a free weekend due to the Domino's Trophy. Will be nice come 9pm to be still out of the relegation zone.

Crawley are in a run of losing Tuesday, winning Saturday. I have no idea why. Our manager probably has no idea why either but I bet it's annoying him.

Salford seem to be under the radar as they climb the table. Genuinely not sure how they play but if we carry on our form from Saturday we will win.

Cue 1-3

You were better than us yesterday. As others have said we are starting to look tired - though our results vs the higher teams in this league recently should tell you something about how we have been playing up to last couple of weeks.

Yesterday was indicative of the couple of games before it in terms of performance levels, but frankly you are better than Mansfield and Walsall. 1-0 win for you would have been about right. ‘Completely overrun’ though? Give over. I know we’re all partisan etc but that is pushing it somewhat, you’re trying to make it sound like you’re Barcelona!

You had very good fitness and Lee was the best player on the pitch IMO. Beyond that, the game felt frantic a lot of the time and didn’t have huge reams of quality from either team.

Cannot disagree with most of what you say.....Lee is the best player in the league been saying it for the last 6 weeks.
We certainly are not the finished article even for lge 2, can see both teams kicking on next season no matter this seasons outcome.

Its going to be a interesting 2 months

After getting spanked 1-1 to the mighty Bolton with their 3 shots on target we now move onto tinpot Newport so should be an easy win. That’s how football works isn’t it results always go with the bigger club?

Newport destroyed us earlier in the season and are still the best team I’ve seen this season but seem to have slowed down a lot since then, another draw wouldn’t be bad here as I’m worrying about our fitness levels we just don’t look sharp atm.

He gives the impression he gets annoyed if nothing is annoying him. Prefer the type of manager who has a bit of passion to be honest.

whoa hold on dont just brush over 3 shots on target.......lets look at the FACTS
5 wins on the bounce against our 6 against the dregs of the league.
You was at home
less possession 42% against 58%
less shots on target 2 against 3
less shots off target 4 against 5
less corners 4 against 6

you was at home.....if that was a boxing match weve done you on points

Another very tough game. We were outclassed at Cambridge but managed to win, we were then better than Salford but drew. Will be interesting how this game goes.

I can see Van Veen being dropped for us. We were all begging for him to return from injury and he's been the worst player on the pitch in his 3 games back.

You’ve just brought up stats that are close, so it doesn’t fit the outclassed rhetoric you keep spouting. You were the slightly better team and kept possession a bit better but rarely threatened and were fitter that’s about as complementary as I can be. Even the pundits on quest said it was a crap game which it was.

I said we was the better team against another team in fine form....i keep saying our team is not the best
our squad is......hence why 5 have come off the bench in the last 6 games and scored

True.

How are you and the other Rovers posters on here thinking about this game?
Its normal to be a down after a defeat and poor performance, they happen enough at this level. I think Keith Hill is experienced enough to adapt to Vaughan being out but if you look at the teams we have put out in the Pizza Trophy Vaughan has rarely appeared so we are capable of playing without him. We never had a recognised striker in the wins against Peterborough and Oxford and scored 4 goals against League 1 sides with a fair number of 1st team players compared to us. Another weird stat is that 6 of our 7 home defeats have been just before a Pizza Trophy game so thankfully thats out of the way next week.

I prefer cautious realism to bizarre outlandish boasting for certain. I cannot recall a single post on here where a Tranmere supporter has claimed we will win the division or are certain to be promoted. Could and should at best.

Very difficult to predict what will happen on Tuesday night, as it depends on the tactical adjustments Hill makes in the absence of Vaughan. If we simply pretend he is still up front and don't adjust our approach, as we did yesterday, we will struggle, but there is still more than enough quality in the players we have available to beat Southend.

It sounded from the post-match interview that Keith Hill is going to be looking at different tactics going forward, and is realistic to accept that there's no quick fix, as the team adapts without Vaughan. Will be important seeing if players who picked up injuries on Saturday and Morris will be available for Tuesday

Charlie Jolley might get a chance on tuesday because he is cup tied for sunday and Nugent might rested. Could start with Danny Lloyd. No chance of working it out from his pre match interviews because he gives nothing away.

Yesterday we looked like we got some of our mojo back and best we’ve played for a while. Having said that Colchester were weak which wasn’t that surprising given their recent form but we usually get well beat at their place. Tuesday will be interesting for sure. Tidy pitch so no excuse there. Full squad to pick from. Narrow home win, Podge late winner.

We could go with the Pizza Trophy tactic of playing without any recognised striker so their defenders haven't got a clue who they are supposed to be defending against.
