You will be after Messi surely. He seems to like it at a club that doesn't pay its bills so should slot in easily.
pot calling the kettle......have you been bailed out with taxpayers money in administration...now jog on

i think our realistic aim against cheltenham at home is to have a shot on goal and go from there.

Maybe they might not turn up and we’ll be aim to cling on for a 0-0.

still cheltenham are nearly 2/1 so £25 has gone on that

Stevenage at home. Got 0-1 snoozefest written all over it. Hopefully iFollow will have some long, lingering close-ups of Jobi so I can tug one out to cheer myself up.

Guthrie needs a goal, he just looks completely devoid of any confidence, nothing like the Guthrie that took us apart for Stevenage a couple of years back. Problem is in our position we can’t afford to persevere with it.

Swan came on and did more than all our other strikers in 15 minutes have done in 5 or 6 games now. Turned the game, scored one and made the other. He must start, shove Rodney out wide to target Oldham’s full backs and hopefully we can cause problems.

They had a few out at the weekend not sure if they have any returning nor us for that matter...

It’s a huge game, must not lose but need a win. Bolton will be a toughy in their form (although similar form to when we last played them) so this game, Newport and Colchester are huge games. We simply have to start winning games or we will get sucked in.

Not sure if the Kewell situation helps or not, seems an odd decision but they are basket case level so hopefully helps us.
How long can you as fans cling on to one game Guthrie had years ago? I keep reading it, it’s like a comfort blanket rather than denying how bad he really is his attitude stinks and he hasn’t scored since when? 18 months ago?

Only thing I disagree with Bradford fans is those who've said he is lazy or has a bad attitude. He's actually just really shit rather than that. I can't see what he brings to a team at all. Can't head, can't run, almost never in the right position in the box and the one time he had a big chance to score against Cambridge resembled a deer in the headlights. I will be amazed if at the end of this season he gets another EFL contract.

swan has to start for me, we're that desperate for goals and he has done more in 5 minutes last saturday than gurthrie managed in 10 games or whatever it has been.

that being said, guthrie is far from being our wrost striker which is why we are where we are i guess.

I’ve cooled off slightly from Saturday, the reality of it was that we played much better and would’ve got a point had it not been for an absolutely horrendous refereeing performance. That said, Paul Hurst cost us the second half and it’s the 3rd game in a row he’s been almost exclusively at fault for a loss.

I’m hoping Hurst saw what we did, a better performance and he picks the team. If Joe Bunney is anywhere near that XI I’m not buying it, I’m not exaggerating by saying of the 40 (!) plus players who have turned out for us this year, Bunney is the worst by an incredible distance.

Swan starting against Oldham is not even a question in my mind. The only one is what to do with his strike partner assuming we go back to 2 up top. Rodney looks like he needs a rest as he seems to have hit the wall at this point. If we play him against Oldham he needs to sit out against Bolton I feel as with his style of play and that VP pitch we have to manage him a bit better. I'd be tempted to have Swan and Cullen up top and work the channels more.

But can you drop Dave against Bolton when he tore Santos apart at their place? I’d try and put him out wide. Need to try and get him through until Amoo or Woz is back really.

Swan has to start he looks a talent and hence why he was around Forest first team.

Guthrie as said we’ve judged him on one game. He hasn’t been lazy for us but he looks completely shot of any confidence at all. When he went clean through against Cambridge i didn’t get up out my chair thinking it’s 1-0 here... whereas with Rodney or even Robinson I would have been. Just looks shot and we can’t afford to waste more time on him in the predicament we are in. It’s no comfort regardless as we need players in form right now!

Cullen has looked ok in cameos recently so might be an option. We need to find something that clicks and stick with it.

I’d be 4-4-2 tomorrow Rodney and Hurst wide possibly? Without wingbacks 3-5-2 is pointless and we need goals. Or even 4-3-3 with Rodney and Hurst wide.

Another very tough game. We were outclassed at Cambridge but managed to win, we were then better than Salford but drew. Will be interesting how this game goes.

I can see Van Veen being dropped for us. We were all begging for him to return from injury and he's been the worst player on the pitch in his 3 games back.
We need to win this to keep our hopes of pushing towards the autos. We will hopefully keep a settled side from Saturday, maybe one or two changes at the most.

We got a stuffing at Glandford Park last season and we do sometimes struggle at Scunny. That Eisa looks to be a real player and I imagine that Rory McArdle will be put up against Ryan Loft. Rory has been getting better the last few games he’s played but he’s slow so playing against a big old unit should suit him.

Being optimistic and going for a 2-0 win. Bowman and Jay for us.

Loft has been injured for the last two games, not sure if he will be back for this or not.

McArdle putting on a clinic while we have one fit CB will just sum this club up really.

Definitely attitude - there's a half decent League Two footballer in there somewhere but he can't be bothered and is always standing around having a strop.

Just been watch vale train for half an hour. Pope was running about abit but puffing and panting after a minutes running. The strikers were practising shooting but most of the time hitting it way over the bar or wide and the rest of the squad must have thought it was Saturday at 3.00pm as they were just standing there doing there normal sod all.

Any sign of any of the injured lads aside from his holiness?

The guy who is top of the prediction league on the Grimsby forum has predicted 1-0 to us. I hope he's right.

Based on how we played the first half of the season, we don't deserve to finish in the bottom half... obviously based on the second half of the season we totally do but I think there have been extraneous circumstances that have affected our performances and it's not simply a case of the players being bottom-half standard. Hopefully once this season is over we can keep the best parts of this squad together and a lot of players and the manager will feel they have unfinished business, and a point to prove next season.

We will have one fit CB tomorrow meaning our RB will have to fill in.

Will be a backs to the wall kind of performance, can see Exeter dominating as we will put everyone behind the ball.

I’ve just read billy big bollocks Clarke’s press conference.
No longer is he blaming askey ( then blames askey) the buck stops with him.
Sooner or later this bloke has got to put some beef on the bap, he’s taken a poor team and made them worse.
Seen some comments earlier about Guthrie, yep he’s cack, but he is still better than Robinson.
Says it all.
We need a win, I doubt we’ll get it.

That was a nuts game back then but I don’t think it will happen again against Santos. We were awful defensively all season in a 3/5 at the back and he just wasn’t comfortable playing it. Since we switched to a 4 (which the fans were calling for along time before it happened) he’s been arguably our most consistent player (between him and Kieran Lee). He’s just been given a new 2 and a half year deal and he’s one that I think can be in this team all the way back to the championship if we can do it - he’s that good. Think you’ll see a very different side on Saturday.

Imagine Pope maybe for Colchester...

Manny would be idea for Bahamboula like we stuck him on the Exeter lad early season. Massive massive game tomorrow.

Newport away - neutral ground.

I don’t know much about Newport. Michael Flynn is well liked around these parts. Matty Dolan has seemingly done well for himself; when he left us in L1, I was confident he’d get found out in L2 and end up somewhere like Ossett Albion.

I thought Nicky Maynard might’ve faired better since arriving on-loan from Mansfield. Admittedly, I’m judging him on goals scored; scoring on his debut, then nothing. There could be more to his appearances, though.

I’m sure Newport and our lads are looking forward to playing at Cardiff’s manor. Not so much because of the stadium, but because of the surface - it’s arguably going to be the best surface we’ll play on this season (barring Wembley ;) ) - Barca-esque football pending.

Surely, T and S have to consider rotating the squad. As I’ve said for the last 3/4 games; some of the lads are extremely fatigued.

Once again, hoping Gareth Evans is back. Billy Clarke came on in the second half against Bolton, so he could start. Can see Callum Cooke and possibly Charles Vernam rested. Danny Rowe likely to get nod over Andy Cook, given he’s scored in consecutive games. We might even sethe young lad Burrell get a run out.

GK: Sam Hornby

RB: Anthony O’Connor
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Niall Canavan
LB: Connor Wood

DCM: Levi Sutton
DCM: Elliot Watt

RW: Gareth Evans
CAM: Billy Clarke
LW: Ollie Crankshaw

CF: Danny Rowe

Our record against Welsh opposition is poor. The last time we faired alright:

Cardiff City 0-2 Bradford City - 16th Aug 2003

Anyway - I digress; I’d take a draw! Carlisle away this Saturday looks to be a far more winnable prospect.
