Near rivals happy with their starting lineups. Bad start to the night for us.

Going rogue with starting line-ups again.

I mean, we probably should change things during such a poor run of form, we have some depth to our squad and should use it, especially with the fixture congestion. But to what extent and how often?

_______________________Farman_______________________
Hayden______Bennett_______McDonald______Armer
Riley_________Charters_________Guy_______Dickenson
______________Alessandra_____Patrick________________

Bench: Norman, Anderton, Mellish, Furman, Walker, Toure, Zanzala

So... Tanner and Kayode are missing from the squad, presumably injured (Kayode did have to come off with a knock against Morecambe)

Furman, Mellish and Anderton drop to the bench and Bennett, Charters, Guy, Armer and Patrick all go into the starting line up.

Admittedly three of those would normally be considered part of our strongest eleven while Armer is a forced change, still, looks like we're going 4-4-2 again, could be 4-3-3 maybe with Dickenson playing in the front three. Feels a long way from the time in the season when you could underline 11 players who would definitely play if fit.

Still missing Gibbons who missed the reverse but Montano as well who was outstanding that day.

Worrall is a huge boost, best assist record other than KBD in the 92... Manny and Amoo will probably come on after 75 minutes play 15 then not been seen again for a month.

Great news Worrall is back. I just hope he lasts through it ok. I'm wondering if we are going to play him centrally and have the two genuine strikers (and Guthrie) up front in a 4-3-3.

Nice to see Manny on the bench though just got no confidence at this point in his body holding up. Always wince the first time he takes a tackle.

In fairness his absence over Xmas was personal reasons as his Mrs was ill after their daughter was born premature but yeah came on at Orient, their lad went in hard and wasn’t seen since!

These players staying fit are crucial to our chances, especially with Pope surely close to a return now.

Yeah fingers crossed they do. I'm pleased DC has at least decided change things up by sacking the last strength and conditioning coach and bringing someone else in so hopefully that has the desired effect. At some point it stops being a coincidence and becomes something we have failed at as a club.

May well need some patience tonight so if we have our usual solid start if we don't get the lead it's crucial the players don't lose heart quickly as that has been a pattern for a while now.

This is the most content I’ve been with a starting XI all season

Agreed, if we don't win tonight with that line up and against the most out of form team in the division, then my hope for staying up will be officially zero, instead of the 5% it currently is!

Already lucky not to be behind. Grimsby score straight from a corner and it's been disallowed for a foul on the keeper. Not sure it was a foul, think we got away with one.

These are gonna have us on toast

Absolutely raging. Need to see that again. We're not getting anything at the moment.

Exeter score a good free-kick.

Well we won't win now as we haven't won from behind since August 2018 but we may be able to get a point

Bright start from Vale but we always do this. We are playing at a nice pace so far. Hope can keep it going.

Lively end to end start at TNL and we've just gone ahead with Aaron Collins doing the returning old boy routine. Sounds like more goals to come though and the aforementioned Kettle to add something weird at some point.

We just don't stand a chance against this Exeter attack with all of our defensive injuries, they're very good
