This is the stuff me and my guitar buddies would (try to) play when we used to have our jam sessions at uni..... well, this and other stuff too. I missed her gig at The Royal Albert Hall when she appeared with BB King and (husband) Derek Trucks, but I've seen the video and it was one bitchin' show.
Was looking for some Motorhead-influenced bands and stumbled across these guys. They're not exactly 'influenced by' but more like a cover band, but I like!
These guys are also clearly influenced by the mighty 'Head.
Struggled to find any contemporary music/bands that stirred the blood on our travels but did pick up a bit of nostalgia when seeking present inspiration in Fopp yesterday. In addition to some Atomic Rooster, I picked up a Ladysmith Black Mambazo double CD offering. Ignoring the obvious Paul Simon stuff, it's all nice and calming.
