Crewe have only lost once at home since February. Yet to concede a goal this season at home in the league and have scored 9 goals in our opening 3 home games.

Port Vale haven't won an away game in 2018.

Absolutely reeks of a 1-0 Vale win off Pope's arse in two weeks time.
And you say us Vale fans are obsessed

Today was much better, certainly considering FGR play some really good football.

Performances are improving IMO but we need to form a settled XI and formation to give the team identity.

A another draw, but this time a fair result. As predicted, today heralded the start of a very long process of searching for a line-up to make-up for the loss of Doidge, which will go on for a long time, well January at least! Expect to see us slide spectacularly down the table as our Champagne players shy away form a scrap. Sob,,,

I can only comment on today obviously but observing FGR I would say:

One of the best footballing sides you’ll see at this level in terms of knocking it about but lacked penetration, wasn’t much threat and that will be a problem when your at home and away teams sit in and let you play the ball about in front of their banks of 4. At times I was chuffed as an away fan watching you knock it about between your back four as it allowed us to organise. You will miss Doige for sure as didn’t have much holding it up although Brown looked decent.

Once we figured FGR out we were able to gain control of the game somewhat, close the keeper and he will launch it into his left channel and we then were able to read it. Keepers massive by the way!

The main issue FGR will have is the winter when the pitches go heavier, under Bruno we tried to play football and it was great until October! So you will need to mix it up to stay up there, pinging it around your back four like that when the pitch is heavy will be asking for trouble.

You’ll be far better than last year though that’s for sure.

Fair result.
Had to laugh during match when Aspin's 'bodyguard' tried on two occasions to dictate to referee where FGR free should be taken.
He stood motionless for a good thirty seconds with arm out-stretched - comical.
What made it hilarious was that he was correct and referee wrong. But what the heck FGR gained 10 yards but did nothing with it.

It's usually our players who are motionless , on a serious note Aspin comes across about as inspiring as Steve Davis talking about his favourite wallpaper so his coaching staff are more animated than him

Sounds like Brabin, no tactical ability, but great at arguing with referees and fourth officials.

Can't argue with that, Vale deserved a point they rattled us second half. Miller's still an annoying little bastard, but he's a handful for defenders and always does well against us. Him and Pope aren't nice to play against, will cause a lot of teams problems. Thought Vale's no 8 (Oyeleke?) looked decent as well, very busy seemed to be everywhere always available for the pass.

No arguments on the pen or the red. Annoying cos thought Rawson had got away with one what with only getting booked on the pen, but then a few minutes later he flies in 70 yards from goal. Pure stupidity. Other then that gotta say overall the ref and main stand side lino were utter shit. We seem to be getting utter clowns every week atm.

Add the fourth official to the class of ineptitude. Those of us sat in the main stand, within earshot, were unfortunate to hear constant uses of the F-word throughout the match from the Vale manager, assistant and bloke in a blue tracksuit from the bench. If one of us sat there were to do the same thing we would probably find ourselves being ejected from the stadium by the stewards or Police. Why didn't the fourth official get involved and tell them to stop when the displeasure of the fans was patently obvious.

Other than that it was a pretty enjoyable game, we looked brighter in the first half but didn't get involved in the second until after the sending off (fair in my opinion, just glad the other player didn't appear injured, I have seen a career ending leg break from that sort of challenge in the past), we also gave away our customary penalty. We might have nicked all three points with a couple of chances at the end, but still fairly happy we didn't lose the game, last season we probably would have in that situation. Despite being a little disappointed that we have drawn all four of our home games, having been ahead in three of them, I am still dead chuffed that we remain unbeaten after seven games.

Come on Greenacres fruity language is the norm like it or not.
Or does Cooper stand there shouting what a spiffing shot and Cor blimey linesman that's a terribly caddish decision young sir ?
unbelievable

We take great pride in being a family club, much of the growth in our attendances has been from families with young children, many of them sit in the same part of the stand that I do. I accept that it is virtually impossible to avoid some bad language in social situations, but the question is what you deem acceptable. When we played Swindon their manager used an obscenity, which was met with displeasure, he apologized and didn't do it again. Yesterday the management from Vale set a new low.

Almost as low as Cooper in his interview calling that disgusting potentially leg breaking tackle as worthy of a yellow card only .

Yeah to be fair bad language is part and parcel, I used to sit behind Brian Horton years ago at Vale and crickey! Every other word was an F word! Even at the fans once! It’s a passionate game so no issue with that.

What I neglected to mention was how immense Manny was! We’ve missed him massively and he was head and shoulders above again.

Either way he walks as he was booked for the penalty which could of been a red in itself as last man.

I disagree with him, that was a bad tackle and my view of it wasn't much different to his, haven't seen the highlights yet though...but doubt if I will see anything to change my opinion.

Yeah we're a family club but let's not pretend we're angels or something. Constantly hear a fuck load of bad language from our own team and fans, especially the bods.

DV has even sworn live on BBC Glos when being interviewed before! And our club secretary made wanker signs at Lincoln fans last season lol. This ain't rugby or cricket.

I accept your comments Chris, but there is a bit of a difference between hearing it on the terrace behind the goal, where there are probably very few watching under the age of 14-15...that is fairly typical of most clubs. However there is a general acceptance that if you choose to sit, or watch in a family stand, you shouldn't be subjected to continuous obscenities. One of the people who I sit with brings his grandson with him, who I guess is 5-6 years old, doubt if he wants the little lad to go home and start using the new words he learned at the footy.

In fairness surely that’s down to FGR to locate the family stand away from the dug out?

Here I must disagree with Greenacres and support the PV point of view.
Bad language is endemic in society. Kids adapt to it and know when and where it can be used. And yes bad language at FGR is as bad as any club in land.

Wasn't a straight red imo. Studs down, one footed and on the ground. They're actually kinda fun to be on the wrong end of tbh.

Have to say thought the same after I saw the highlights but he'd be gone anyway for second yellow. Wonder if we'll appeal for the shorter ban?

In fairness Tom Conlon who was nailed by the challenge has had his say in this growing debate on twitter and says he felt the red was harsh and a second yellow would have sufficed.

It was Whitfield who took the challenge wasn’t it?
