From the Championship, it was looking like Wigan, Blackpool and Huddersfield but with the decent recent form of the latter, QPR's absolutely dire run of form for what feels like about 25 games and Reading's points deduction, the final spot is all up in the air.

Wigan and Blackpool look done, but the final place could be anyone from Reading, QPR, Huddersfield, Cardiff or Rotherham.

From L2, Orient aren't too far off being promoted now. Looking like two of Northampton, Carlisle, Stevenage or Stockport for the two remaining automatic places with three of Bradford, Mansfield and Salford battling it out for the final two PO spots.

No-one is in great form in the top 8 of L2 with lots of draws.

It would be a disaster for us to be relegated with Orient coming up along with possibly Stevenage and Northampton. We’d miss out on so many local games.

QPR’s fall has been incredible. They were top of the league just a few months ago. Fear for Gareth keeping his job there if they drop. Reading would be all down to financial mismanagement if they fell, how much that would spill into next season remains to be seen.

Orient clearly up, the rest it’s shaping up like last season where there were multiple permutations going into the final day. I hope it’s Mansfield though, another midlands team and their fans were pure class at Wembley before, during and after the game.

When Ainsworth took the job, QPR’s own fans were saying that they almost wouldn’t wish the job on anyone and that whoever got the gig would have a hell of a fight to whip a bunch of unmotivated mercenary journeymen into shape.

Man management is one of Ainsworth’s biggest strengths, I’d say, and I really thought he could change QPR around, but yeah, sure, given how trigger happy their board are, I wouldn’t bet against Ainsworth getting the boot.

I think qpr will go down.
And I would give that a swerve next season. Not a great ground from memory and the parking was crap. And overpriced.

Yeah same and I normally love London away days. Think the robbing bastards charge over £30 a ticket there. Thankfully Orient will be up which is far more enjoyable to go to. The pie and mash they serve there is great even if the heathens put that green shit on it rather than gravy.

Don't bank on the food being any good at Orient...at least in the away end.

I went there last season, when we were in League Two, absolutely no sign of the food you describe. I was told that they weren't allowed to cook chips because the Fire Brigade wouldn't let them...I'm not sure if that is a reflection of their cooking skills or because the away stand is largely constructed from wood and it could be a dangerous combination, but it did seem like a bit of a cop out. I opted for the vegetarian pie and am sad to describe it as one of the worst things anyone has ever served me and described it as food...dry and rock hard, absolutely disgusting!

I did that on a Tuesday night in 03/04… was going nuts when Adrian Littlejohn equalised with seconds of injury time to go… only got them to score 15 seconds later!

They definitely did it when we played there. Main reason it stuck in the mind was it was one of only two noteworthy things from that game as both ourselves and Orient stunk the place out in a 0-0, the other thing being a fox invading the pitch and stopping play getting the biggest cheer of the day.

Definitely a more old school type away stand with the supporting pillars but we can’t say anything on that as three of our stands are the same.

Just had a look at the Championship table, can't believe Huddersfield are out of it for now. Be nice if one of QPR, Reading or Cardiff went down, rather than three northern sides.
Our games with Cardiff were always a bit tasty, but I haven't been to the new stadium and it would certainly beat Newport!

I had the pie, mash and liquor at Orient and it was bloody good tbf. The stewards wouldn’t let me even look around the corner to see the pitch whilst eating it though, which was a bit odd. It’s liquor not alcohol ffs.

Unlike at Mansfield where they sell spirits in the away end and turn a blind eye if you stick them in a coffee cup and take them into the stand.

If we’re still in this division next season, the following would be excellent in terms of easy trips/bigger allocations:

Down from Championship:
Wigan
Blackpool
Huddersfield

Up from League Two:
Carlisle
Stockport
Bradford
Leyton Orient (new ground for me, so I don’t mind that)

If you are into Pie, mash and liquer the best one i have ever had was Arments, just off Walworth Road, near a pub called Liam Og's. Fantastic. I love liquer , you can't get it up north, or I have never seen it.

The pie and mash and liquer at Orient is one of the culinary delights of EFL stadiums, and the kind of regional flavour that I wish there was more of (like the faggots at Burton or I suppose the Scotch pie at Carlisle, c'mon Port Vale sort out some oatcakes). Well that sounds far too poncy, but it's good.

Good to know you can still get decent PnM in London itself, I think the best I've had was probably in the Rumford Shopping Hall in Romford, but have had very decent ones in Dagenham, Hornchurch, Pitsea and Southend as well. Definitely have not encountered liquer beyond the cockney diaspora of South Essex and North Kent though.

We have sold them in the past. Be good if down the line we can do a deal with a local company like High Lane Oatcakes and have them back on sale in the fanzone at the least.

You can get all sorts in the fan zone if you’re prepared to pay £7-8!

Our pasties now are really good now that Chunks have taken over. You won't need an evening meal

Apparently north of the border (Scotland) the latest rage in food at the footy is a Doner Kebab Pie, which sounds pretty tasty...would be a great import to England if someone up there can be bothered!

You must be mad if you want Cardiff to come down.

Hoping Mansfield come up - it’s local, we would take a good following, and our nige is there. Plus Lucas Akins our old club legend.
Orient is a trek, Northampton would be decent - and Stevenage would be good as we can leave our manager there and drive off quickly.

I'd sooner Cardiff comedown than say Wigan, It'd be a big game for Pompey. Too many Northern teams in L1..
No disrepect to any Northern teams but Accy and Morecombe PV and Burton for me.

Funny i think there were too many Southern teams this season. Plymouth, Ipswich ,Portsmouth, MK Dons, Charlton, Bristol Rovers, Forest Green, Exeter, Chelmsford, Wycombe, Peterborough, Oxford, Cambridge, even Derby took 4 hours to get back from as the trains were so bad, Unfortunately I think QPR, Orient and Northampton will replace Plymouth Ipswich and Forest Green

Peterborough is North.
Try getting there from Devon on a Bank Holiday Monday, I'd gladly replace them with someone else. Though Ipswich is Southern, its another long trip for us. There definitely should be a quota on teams from Lancashire too

No real change in the Championship today. QPR were in the bottom three at one point but came from 2-0 down to draw at WBA whilst Reading lost in injury time and Huddersfield let their lead slip in injury time.

I think I'm correct in saying Orient could have been one win away from promotion with a win today but they let a two goal lead slip.

Salford were 2-1 down at AFC Wimbledon in injury time and managed to miss a penalty, equaliser, then score a winner!

Looking at that L2 table there’s still an outside shot of Barrow making the playoffs. Supporters of some of the bigger clubs in this league would just love that away end

Bradford seem like they could just sneak into the top 3. We’ve both spent a huge amount of time sharing the same division so it stands to reason they’ll probably go up this year.
