Huddersfield play Sheffield Utd on Thursday who have nothing to play for - could be all over before the final day

Ah yeah was looking too far ahead there. Both home games you’d expect Hudders to get the point they need. Colin might end up calling in a few favours from Sheff U to seal it off there.

Hoping Northampton clinch third place because that is a very northern play-off.

Co-sign it on Northampton, only about 20 minutes on a train for me which will be handy if MK go down this weekend.

Congrats on your promotion yesterday. As much as he’s a dislikable character, Evans has clearly done a great job there and your promotion looks fully deserved as you’ve been in and around the automatics all season.

Thanks. Evans has done a great job, from keeping us up last season, to promotion this year. A couple of decent cup runs thrown in for good measure. Really couldn't have asked for a better season all things considered.

Could be curtains for Reading tonight if Huddersfield avoid defeat at home to Sheffield United.

Reading down, please. League Two was ridiculously Northern this year, so would be nice to avoid the much-travelled path to Huddersfield. Very pleased to be swapping the Surrey clubs & Crawley for Charlton and Pompey.

Are Reading going to have a huge budget if they come down? Without the 6 point deduction they'd still be a Championship club, so a bit concerned that they're going to have loads of money to flash about. Or are they I'm financial difficulties?

I was surprised at how low their average attendance is, 14k pushed up by a big one for the last game, always assumed they pushed 20k but then we haven't played them in donkeys so assume they'd get 10-12k with lower away followings and a lower league down here.

Reading won’t have anywhere near the budget some of the bigger clubs have had this season, weren’t they already under a transfer embargo for breaking FFP rules before the points deduction?

They broke some rules in regards to their business plan or something but unsure if that was in place due to difficulties or just a standard the clubs have to put in place as part of FFP

Reading away sounds like a great weekend to wash the cars and do some housework.
It’s always the club I forget about when you do the name the 92 quizzes!

Delighted with Reading! 45 mins away for me and will be one of the easiest journeys for those travelling from Bristol. Assuming it’s played at a decent time, can see 2/3k going

Wonder if Andy Carroll (the man made of glass) has a relegation clause to escape the humiliation of the third tier.

Anyway, geographically the closest league club to us, but it’s a pretty “meh” fixture all in all (and I’m sure their fans would say the same), so it’s another Not A Local Derby for us, similar to Oxford.

I do hope they play their epic club anthem before kickoff though, should send the atmosphere through the roof.

Wigan aren't paying their players again - what's that, fourth or fifth time now?

Reading down are a bit 'meh', but that's the same for the other two as well.

Not a fan of nursing a Sunday morning hangover by the sea whilst being catcalled by vomiting Lancastrian hen do attendees waving their gunts about?

Reading will have many a sub-10,000 crowd next season.

Averaged 11/12 thousand in recent years.

They’ve no money either, so I can’t see them challenging.

Good luck to the Cobblers today, I felt bad for them how they missed out last season so be good if they get it this time. I suspect they are going to have to win this game as though John Askey will have Hartlepool competing I expect Stockport to handle business in their game. Hoping for a minor miracle for Mansfield to get into the playoffs. Of the two above them you’d think Salford and Bradford would get what they need but don’t think either Orient or Gillingham will roll over so there’s a chance.

Anyone but Salford but I would like to see Northampton do it for geographical reasons.

It does feel like a southern league next year?

Northampton have an early goal so fingers crossed they see it out from here. Orient, Stevenage and Northampton is a dream for us. If Mansfield could sneak in and win the play offs then that would work better for us than the others too.

Northampton to me look like they need the second goal to settle the nerves as seem to have dropped off a bit after a great start. So far so good for the Cobblers though.

Carlisle down to 7th but their GD is such that not even their fans would have them in any danger of missing the playoffs. I think Mansfield need some help from Orient or Gillingham second half. All good fun when it’s not your team nervously checking all the other scores.

All done, welcome Cobblers. Was tense just watching that as a neutral.

Cobblers v Rovers might have a bit of spice next season.
Northampton normally go straight down though.

I think if any of Bradford, Stockport or Salford going up will have the resources to bother this League more than any of the teams that went up in automatics. We're going on 55 years in League one or two and are perennially either battlling to go up to League 1 or stay in it, so will probably be the same.

Unlike last time, pretty much all the first teamers are under contract however, which has pros and cons as we'll probably not lose all our best players like most promotions, but also dont have a lot of ability to look at improve.

Still, good to enjoy a few bigger games again without dealing with covid restrictions this time.

Reading have always had shite support. I'm pleased they are down though another southern club.
