Well, unless a miracle happens, we're heading down to Conference South... so on a selfish note, I'd like Ebbsfleet and Maidstone to stay put... if, and it's a bloody big IF, we manage to pull off the biggest escape in the history of the world then I'd like to see Ebsfleet and Maidstone go up from Conference South and Daggers and Yeovil to drop down.... it'll give United a 'localish' derby against our Somerset neighbours and give me 3 more do-able games.

*Edit: I cannot believe I just typed that I'd like Maidstone to get promoted!

Yes. Shame on you. :D

60% hard standing. Drab. Low elevation and poor vantage points. Lacks character. Fully out of town and out of walking range of any pub. No atmosphere.

Not an attack on the fans or even Solihull Motors as a club, as I know you have loads of junior teams and are really active in the town, which is fantastic and one thing where we fall well short. I also appreciate Motors have invested well with the likes of Bogle coming through, rather than doing an AFC Flyde. But I swear Damson Park is a rubbish ground.
So not so much the designing of the ground. Just the lack of money to build on the two undeveloped sides. There are plans to build a new stand behind that goal at the end of the season. I don't see what the problem is with any of the other two stands. I agree, it would be better if the ground was closer to the town centre.

Has Solihull Moors got a sugar daddy? If not how come you are so good?

From L2,York and another, though now Newport have been playing Danny Holmes again, hope they stay up.
Would like Harrogate from NLN, no strong feelings about the others, but maybe a Midlands side.
Neutral about the NLS sides, Truro can stay down until they move back to Cornwall.

Daggers and York down please. Would consider Yorks relegation Karma for recalling Jason Mooney from us before our crucial game with Welling last season. For him to go and warm the bench!

Solihull and Harrogate up from the North. Maidstone and Ebbsfleet from the South

Because a team in the National League gave them a decent bit of cash to buy their star striker to play the odd game or two, then warm the bench up.......

I'd like York down with Daggenham, York mostly because it's a good away day and we have far more chance of meeting sides that drop to the conference, Daggehnahm because they will come down and won't be arrogant about their place relative to the conference and we can forgo the normal "piss this tinpot league"/"none of our fans were serious about it" cycle of crap.

For those not picked - Stevenage is a shit-hole I wouldn't wish on anyone (terrible place for a day out, nobody has ever looked forwards to an away game there), Yeovil is far away from anything useful, I also kind of like them being in the league for no apparent reason. Hartlepool, as well as being ridiculously far North, would be another team who argue if they are the biggest down here or not (which is a very boring conversation we could do without more of). Newport have only just escaped and I'd like to see them have longer to try and sustain league football.

To go up - not Fylde from the North, not overly bothered by who joins them, though Solihull seem to deserve it for their outstanding season. If Alfreton could sneak in to the playoffs it might be nice for DSL, though I'd suggest winning games in the North would be preferable to a very likely relegation battle in the national.

From the South, I think Ebbsfleet will do it, but I'd like Sutton and Maidstone in the premier. I want to see what you all really make of football on the artificial surface when you actually see it in person, and I find Sutton to be a very likeable club. Nothing against Ebbsfleet but spending your way to promotion is relatively boring for a club I am otherwise neutral on.

I'm obviously far more interested in the promotions and relegations lower down. If people are interested (depending on how busy I am) I may try to do the round-ups I had a go at last season (steps 2-4 promotion and relegation issues, looking at step 5 promotion - though that is so complicated every year I may not be able to keep up!). A decision not to be made for about a month or more though.

If you are up for doing that again that would be fantastic. Really enjoyed your work last year. :)

And to go down from this division - Kiddy, Torquay and Welling look to have too much to do, and I hope Boreham Wood join them although anyone but Alty would be ideal.

I sincerely hope you're proved wrong....

This league is starting to shape up to be very Northern next season.
Either (or both) of Cheltenham and FGR are going up. And Torquay, Kidderminster, Welling and Boreham Wood all look in a lot of trouble.
Leaving pretty much just us, Woking, Eastleigh, Bromley & Dover.
Add into that two from York and Hartlepool from L2, 2 from the Conf North and then 2 from the South (anyone but Truro please) and it's looking like we're going to have a lot of long away trips next year.
Hoping for Yeovil and Dagger's to get relegated, not bothered about who comes up.

We could quite easily have a couple of teams from Kent/Surrey replacing Welling and Boreham Wood, or even one from Hampshire, coming up from the South. As for the North, it could easily be Solihull and Nuneaton, both of whom are in the Midlands. If we end up in the play-offs we will probably blow it again and you might be saying cheerio to Grimsby...so, your awaydays next season might not be as bad as you fear!

Bignot spent the money wisely. If we had Bogle this season we would be miles ahead at the top.
How's he doing for you?

Has obvious potential, but at the minute he doesn't get a long enough run in the team to show it.
Sometimes guilty of trying to do too much, but by the end of his 3 years here I expect the goals to be flying in for fun from him.

It utterly sickens me to post in this section again beyond neutral interest, but, we're back.

Daggers v York is now a preview for next season.

Karma for taking Jason Mooney off our hands with 2 games to go last season for him to go and warm the bench. A move that pretty much sent us down. :p

Nah, we're just perpetually shite and absolutely determined to go bankrupt and disappear in this hell hole ;). Mathematically we are of course not out of it but, we have no defence whatsoever, so it completely ruins any effect our attack has and we'd need a literal brick wall in goal at this point.

EDIT- Also, that was Russ Wilcox who recalled him and he's the guy whose destroyed us with a little help with Worthington.

Looks like its Dagenham and Redbridge plus one other then from League Two.

I would feel sorry for them, but they signed Kane Ferdinand and Matt Richards, and frankly they deserve to go down if that was the level of player they were thinking would improve their team from last season.

As much as I enjoyed visiting York on Valentine's weekend last year, it must have been the most abject Tranmere performance I've ever seen (and that's saying something after our early season form!). The thought of going back brings me out in cold sweats!

York down then. Would be great banter if Stevenage managed to go with them too. Scum.

Drinks for all, will ensure an early start on the beverages whenever we're playing them.

I'm quite looking forward to it, it would be nice to shut the York fans at work up with six points.

Dagenham I'm wholly indifferent to.

Don't worry, you'll smash us on our way to inevitable bankruptcy and permanent obscurity.

We won't be a threat next year, we'll do nothing before gradually fading into the history books.

Join the club ...

Although if it's any consolation, you won't be the only ones to always lose to Lincoln. :bye:

feels like ages since i posted in the non league bit!

play offs are looking tense. anyone down to Eastleigh still involved. would like to think wrexham have an outside chance and i will still believe until its mathematically impossible. only downside is that 6 of our last 10 fixtures are against those in and around us. lose any of those and they are the proverbial 5 pointers. a particularly nasty run is grimsby, cheltenham and Forest green after one another around easter! we win those and we deserve a play off place!

would ultimately prefer cheltenham to win the title instead of forest green, athough cheltenham are doing their best to fuck it up!
