"We have a lot of foolish people".:fl:

I'm getting to the stage that I actually want him to win, just to see it all unravel.

The target of Donald Trump's bitter anger: the Internet (seen below in this library photo from 2007)
internet_machine_papercraft.jpg

'The Internet' machine has stood the test of time and although there were talks of upgrading the Internet to a bigger machine in 2011, with 8MB of memory, double the capacity of the original, the 5 people tasked with managing the Internet couldn't agree whether this extra memory should go on the left or the righthand side. So the upgrade was skipped.
'The Internet', incredibly, is still located in an anteroom alongside Bill Gates' old office at Microsoft, although it was moved to temporary accommodation in 2002 for 3 weeks when Bill Gates had new veneer flooring put in.

You're one of the 200,000 that signed the petition aren't you?

I see Hillary Clinton is offering to fund Donald Trump's travel and may contribute to his campaign.

Erm...

Who knows?

Thousands of Syrians just walked into Europe. No one knows who's who. But #RefugeesWelcome fuck off.

Your views and his seem very similar, so if he's a moron, I assume that makes you one too?

Much as Trump is a complete wanker, I thought the fact an SNP MP actually called for Trump to be banned from the UK during PMQs today said a lot. Pathetic from a party whose modus operandi is to try to silence anyone it doesn't like.

One says ban all Muslims from entering a country.

One says stop migrants from entering without checking exactly who they are and what their intentions are.

It's not hard.

How do you "check what their intentions are"??

"Are you going to be a terrorist and murder people?"
"No"
"OK, you can come in. Next!"

How do you think decisions get made on asylum claims and visa applications?

Adding insult to injury - poor bird has to put up with being chained then share it's space with prats

Posted here because the Donald Trump thread is such an unsavoury place.

The unregistered voters included are those who intend to vote in the Democratic primary

Their inclusion requires no commitment, so it's not a very good poll really. Many will have just been Republican voters who may well have just been deliberately messing it all up. Possibly similar with many unregistered voters saying they will vote for Trump...because really they are going to vote Democrat.

You realise registering as a Dem or Rep also requires basically zero commitment or effort, it's not the same as here where you join a party and have to pay a fee to become a member, in most states you can do it online in two minutes. Also the reason there are significantly more registered Republicans and Democrats than there would be Tories, Labour, Lib Dems, SNP etc., here (think something like 50-60% of American were party affiliated last time I checked, compared to a few percent for all those UK parties here).
And it you're going to say that about this poll.. you could say it about them all, but more often than not they're correct or at least very close.
You are right though, Bernie does tend to do better with independents, not really surprising however considering he is (or was) the longest serving independent in congress' history and only became a Democrat this year in May to enter this race.
He will win New Hampshire, I am sure of it. Winning a caucus in Iowa will be more difficult.

Yes, understand the mechanics.
Interestingly, the NYT believed (in October) that he will do well in Iowa precisely because of these independents.

Just watched the Republican foreign policy debate.

Slightly less bonkers than previous debates. Chris Christie is a bit of a nutter though. Strong nights for Rubio and Cruz. Bush was slightly better than he has been but basically still a bit of a wet fart. Fiorina was much weaker than previous debates. Kasich was again the most reasonable and likeable person up there but didn't seem to connect with the audience.

Trump and Carson were absolutely abysmal as always but no doubt their followers will have loved them. I remain mystified by the whole thing, I must confess.

Astonishingly little focus on Trump's comments on blocking all Muslim immigration.

The Republicans have changed their nomination process. Before March 15th, voting at all caucuses and primaries will be proportional (and so a number of states have moved their events forward to be in that window). This means the nomination process is more "bang" than a drawn out fart of decreasing intensity.

Impacts? Who knows? By shortening the schedule, doesn't it make it more likely that fewer candidates will drop out? Or conversely, does it mean that covering more states in a short time frame - combined with more proportionality - will mean less likelihood of a clear leader early on so (and so more drop outs?)
But with these changes and with each state GOP determining how proportionality works, is there the possibility of legal challenges becuase of the increasing complexities of the process. After all, several of these candidates are believed to be quite wealthy.

Also, does it mean that traditional ways of looking at candidates are irrelevant?

The process is genuinely interesting, and I'm surprised Walkley isn't already preparing statistical tables.
