Let’s see at 9.30. Think Luton fans have greater concerns of getting out of Luton to be honest - cars got stranded on the A505 between Hitchin and Luton last night.
Absolutely - although this incident has now cleared. I said half of the ticket holders attending would be a good result - I'd now revise that to a third (800). I need to use that road in a few hours.

If the thaw forecasted comes to fruition, they should delay the inspection until midday.

Game is on. I suspect that Ian never had much doubt that it would be, provided the forecasts were near accurate. He's one of the most experienced and best at his job in the country - at any level.

I realise that numbers attending may be affected by the weather but what did you think would change at the Abbey between now and midday?

I think Ian and the team deserve a chant from both sets of fans - before we get started and the goals are rolling in so that one of us is less than pleased that he made sure the match was on.

That’s an incredible effort. Game on!

Now whether we’ll put in another decent performance on the pitch is a different matter altogether.....

Agree top effort by the groundsman. At least now we have an excuse or two if we lose. Pitch too hard, arrived late at the ground, too cold, had to alter our game plan! :bg:

Trains are running fine from London as well. Most of the roads and paths were more or less clear that I saw so hopefully Luton and surrounding areas has coped similarly.

Be interesting to hear what NJ says about the pitch if we don’t win today!

Great effort from all at Cambridge to get the game on.

Just seen the team. Berry top of the diamond in assuming? But Lawson D’ath as one of the midfield 2? It’s a no from me I must say!

It’s alright, Elito is starting so we’re effectively a man down.

Well this is shit, comfortably the poorest match since Dunne took over.

Btw, poor support from Luton's 800 or so (source - Kenny End) away fans.

Do like the sub tho to push another defensive midfield in there assuming Rea steps forward. Gotta not sit deep

Incredibly frustrated with that, weathered a first 10 minute storm and then we were the better side. Should have been more than a goal up then the idiotic Collins get himself sent off. I assume for back chatting the ref minutes after being booked. Been coming all season that as he is always moaning and back chatting them. Just stupid and has cost us.

Very well may have fucked us for next week too as Hylton looked injured going off. If he misses it we are suddenly thin on the ground striker wise

You wouldn’t call him an idiot if you seen him in Cov, let me assure you of that son.

Luton having a little bit of a wobble. Not a massive one and they are unbeaten in 5, but only 1 win in 5 and if Accy beat Morecambe on Tuesday, then suddenly the gap at the top is only 1 point.

Wow! Haven't seen a side self destruct like Luton did today for a long time. Comfortably better than us in all areas of the pitch - as they bloody well should be - until Collins' dismissal. LOL. And what's more we could well have got another goal if time didn't run out.

Still, for all of their nice passing and general dominance, Luton could only muster a couple of decent efforts on target and we all know what usually happens in such cases.

Sorry lads but.....ahahahaaaa

Just annoying, Jones needs to get a grip on discipline, it’s been shit since he became manager.

But seriously, while I would like to thank Collins for his sending off while his side were cruising, I really haven't got any time at all for that kind of sending offs. I mean if you're on a yellow card then why push your luck with unnecessary chatter? Entirely different to a couple of yellows in quick succession for a couple of mistimed tackles.

Like I said it’s been coming for him all season. He’s always having a go at refs and I’m always surprised he gets away with it. Not today though.

Normally drawing away games isn't too bad when pushing for promotion but we need to win our home games which we are struggling to do. The fact that teams behind us are putting runs together makes us vulnerable at the moment. This means when we are winning games and looking quite comfortable you need the players to be disciplined. So Collins sending off was unecessary especially if the second was given for backchatting. I'm sure he heard the Cambridge fans cheer their goal from the dressing room and hope he feels that he has let his teammates and us fans down. Now he'll miss the key game next Saturday and with Cornick absent today and Hytlon going off early we could be down to the bare bones up front next week. I thought despite our comfortable position when one nil up there are still areas of our game we need to improve. We are too easily pushed off the ball and when having to play deep when down to 10 we look panicky and to be honest it wouldn't have been a surprise if Cambridge had got the winner at the end. We really need to work on the mental side of our game in the coming weeks to get the promotion which our season deserves. Doing it the Luton way is not good for my health!!

Agree with the assessment of the mental aspect of the game. Consistently found wanting in big games or games where we can push ourselves ahead of others.

Next weeks 1st vs 2nd game has got all the hallmarks of a trademark Luton fuck up.

Collins you tithead.

Despite his goals I just get the impression he isn’t happy and hasn’t quite fitted in. Everything he does is just... awkward. Don’t know but something seems to be frustrating him about how we play and I think that is the root of today’s idiocy.

Another who doesn’t look like he is fitting in is Jervis. Not sure what that signing was all about to be honest, looks way below the level let alone League 1 quality.
