We seem to have lost our way a bit after the great results in December. Heres hoping that there are still a couple of players coming in.
It seemed to happen before when we lost to Mansfield despite playing well we were then awful at Lincoln and failed to beat a dire Yeovil on the day in the cup and it took a poor Cambridge to see us win followed by the remarkable effort at Yeovil in the replay to see confidence and belief come back.
Harsh defeat against Notts Co after playing well, followed by a dire performance at FGR and an even worse one yesterday. We seem to need a ‘boost’ each time before setting off on a run.
Two weeks ago we destroy the league leaders with excellent attacking and stout defending... ten of that side two weeks later put that in yesterday against a far inferior opponent to Luton where we defended poorly, hoofed aimlessly and barely threatened... let’s not forget we barely laid a glove on FGR who conceded more than anyone.
Makes no sense really! From the Coventry and Luton games against top of the league opponents to playing two of the poorest sides in the division and the performances are chalk and cheese.
We seem to have a few ‘confidence players’ too. Harness was diabolical yesterday after some very good performances, same with Monty. Took Worrall to come on to give us some threat. Whitfield was absent again yesterday too which is a little worrying.
