I can't believe I didn't wake up to reports of him being fired today, with Giggs taking over duties for the Chelsea game. How much further does Woodward want the rot to set in? You'd have thought he'd have learned to act more swiftly after waiting to fire Moyes after it was mathematically impossible for finish fourth.

Perhaps Woodward knows what the rest of us do. Namely that putting Giggs in charge for the rest of the season would almost certainly rule out top 4. It would need to be someone else with experience or they may as well wait until the end of the season.

Who said anything about putting Giggs in charge for the rest of the season?

So, do you mean Woodward should sack Van Gaal without a replacement lined up? I doubt any serious contact between the club and Mourinho has taken place, regardless of how much the press would love it to be the case. Who else could be in serious consideration? Ancelotti and that's about it.

That's exactly what I'm saying. The players have given up on van Gaal and he's having a detrimental effect on the club. An interim can be hired if Pep is a possibility or Mourinho can be brought in.

Ancelotti as an interim is a shit idea for me. Get someone who might be out of work next season and so have something to prove, not someone who already has a plush job lined up and would probably spend just as much time tapping up your only decent players as actually trying to get results.

I guess not, both in terms of results and style. He might even get Rooney to pretend he's a professional footballer again.

Plus Carlo needs to work on his German.

The interesting thing for me is all the United players coming out saying 'we're all working hard for him'. I see that on the pitch. Very different to chelsea. Which surely indicates an increased need to fire him. It's not that the players are coasting, it's that Van Gaals tactics and ball retention are both outdated and unsuited to the current English game.

He won't be able to change the approach

Drew 0-0 against a Chelsea side with no recognised striker, and could drop to 9th if they fail to beat Swansea on Saturday

If Van Gaal stays until the end of the season they won't finish top 4. And for that reason alone I want him kept.

Played much better though. Players don't seem to want the manager out.

They played much better and yet they still didn't score. I hope Van Gaal stays for a good while yet, as he's doing a great job as far as i'm concerned;)

The concerning thing is they are saying this showed they worked hard okay but where was that hard work and effort in the past few weeks? It indicates they were not working hard in the previous games because had that workrate and desire been there in the past few weeks and that pace and tempo we would be sitting with a lot more points. It seems the players have been almost shamed by the fans and perhaps even by SAF to put in a performance as it was painfully evident last few weeks they were not playing for Van Gaal.

Dislike the saying from players that they do or do not work hard for their manager. They are paid millions of pounds a year by the club, not the manager, to work hard every week.

Soooooooooooooooooo Man Utd have recalled Will Keane from Preston North End presumably because they're worried about their forward options while Hernandez is picking up a consecutive player of the month award in the Bundesliga.
If Chicharito only had a 1% chance of playing under LvG I wonder what chance Will Keane has after scoring a whopping 2 goals in 22 appearances in Englands second tier.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
What are the odds he'll score a tap-in against Exeter in the FA Cup fourth round and be in the next England squad?

Not as high as you getting upset about him being mentioned in a match report if that is indeed the case.

I doubt we brought back Will Keane to score goals for us. Probably selling him on this window as he's clearly not good enough. James Wilson would naturally be the best player to recall in such a scenario.

Nope. Read that twice and it's still gibberish.

Go away and work on it, and get back to me, yeah?

You see, the joke was you'd got upset when Jesse Lingard scored a goal that won a game and it was reported in the papers. This was a direct reference to that moment.

Hope that helps.

Silky is so angry when it comes to Manchester United that he can no longer read basic English text if that particular team is mentioned. It's ok, I have the same problem when reading about Donald Trump.

Ah, I kid, you don't get as angry as I do.

Don't think I've ever been angry at a player being mentioned in a match report. Hence the confusion. I mocked the seeming inevitability of a United player being touted for England based on one goal. Then it all went a bit odd.

A mere glimpse of the name "Rooney" in the morning paper makes you vomit your gizzards straight up into your bran flakes, don't even try to deny it.

Van Gaal says a win over Swansea could be a 'fantastic start' in 2016. Still deluded I see.

Try beating a decent side eh?
