When a white bloke shouts "Kill Muslims" and murders people, it's a lone nutter and only he knows what he wants to achieve.

Not at all, I certainly didn't say he was a lone nutter, and you're picking out Manchester and London Bridge specifically from my post to make me sound racist, while ignoring the fact that I also mentioned Anders Brevik, the Oregon militia, Thomas Mair and the EDL.

I understand why people are being very pointed at calling it terrorism, but that's only because terrorism has acquired additional meaning since the word was first used, as you attest to. It used to specifically mean actions that were designed to hold society to hostage, but now it just means 'the worst crime imaginable against innocent civilians'.

By the way, have you really moved to Wigtownshire? If so I expect to see you at Brunton Park this season.

I didn't mean to imply that you were racist at all, and sorry if that was how it came over. The point is that we can't have lone nutters described as terrorists if they are on "one side" (I hate that term) but not the other. I think the term is evolving - and probably rightly so - to indicate any crime that randomly terrorises people. It was just that - as I showed - you could claim that any one of those terrorist attacks were lone nutters. Or a small group of them. They were terrorists, as was he.

It's a similar situation to that in Northern Ireland whereby one side claimed their men in arms were 'defending the community' and 'taking revenge'. Once you get into the tit-for-tat "they did it first", all hope of resolution and practical solutions is lost.

I'm planning to move to Wigtownshire but will probably spend my Saturday afternoons at Stair Park if I can't get down to Molineux.
