  • The green kit almost immediately outsold the black/white kit;
  • the food is prepared by qualified chef and is probably the best is league. Whether you want vegan food is another matter but I enjoy it as well as a MacDonalds;
  • with the fantastic amount of publicity for club, most pundits can see the future assured, possibly with a massive buy-out by a Chinese multi-billionaire whenever Dale stands down.
I can only assume you posted comment out of green envy for a genuine success story.
You mean like at any other normal football club?

I've bought some awful burgers at some other clubs
I think FGR is one of a few that prepares the food on site and not bulk buy it in.

We'll be hosting Lincoln once again on Tuesday.
I recommend that you buy something to eat at club.
You'll enjoy it.

I used to like our burgers and hot dogs. And cottage pies. And fish and chips. They weren't chef prepared though.

FGR Stroud is right, the Q-pies are all made fresh on site by a Michelin star chef, as is the rest of the stuff up in the posh areas. The stuff around the rest of the ground though, other then the pies, is just frozen stuff bulk bought in from off site. Being a South Stander I don't do the posh bits. Just get a few beers down me and eat later. Football ground food is generally shite, apart from at Kiddy, Solihull and one or two others. Ours is decent if you don't mind the lack of meat tbf.

Won't be making a midweek trek down there. I've done some stupid midweeker's in my time but not this coming week!

Thought you were on about in Stadium areas rather than the standard pies and burgers. If you get the chance, get the cheesy chips at Stevenage.

For the record, I have absolutely no jealousy of FGR or any of the myriad of similar clubs. I wish you the best of luck, but when Vince leaves, as he inevitably will at some point, the money will dry up and you will be left to deal with the consequences of that.

I have already addressed that issue in previous post.

Starting the two loanees and Bugiel on the bench despite being not long back from international duty in the DPRK(!) No Sam even as sub, wondered if he's injured? ETA Just heard Coops on radio say that is why.

Exeter playing us like a fiddle by the sounds of it. Happy for us to knock it around to no effect then any sniff of a chance and they've been clinical as often as not. Three nil down now.

All over, three-one. Consolation from Shams as Exeter sat back and we huffed and puffed but not to much effect. Maybe if we lasted ten minutes without conceding we might compete a bit better.

Good win. Sounded like we weren't that great second half but did enough to see the game out.

Forest Green had their chances but we sounded fairly comfortable. Once again Reid and Holmes did the business up top.

On to Barnet midweek.

Exeter sat back after 45 minutes. They are a much better side. This season will surely end badly for us thanks to the utter crap we have signed over the summer.

Noble chipping at the fans isn't going to help, regardless of whether he's correct in what he's saying.

In a struggling team, Noble is a liability, short tempered, ill disciplined and easy to wind up. If FGR keep losing , Noble will start kicking opposition players in a tantrum, and reds and yellow cards will surely come.

Exeter are a good side. We aren't. Thought we might surprise them, but there were no surprises yesterday. Not a lot different to Wycombe at all, same shit defending, same improvement once 3-0 down, same result.

We are still averaging conceding 3 goals a game, which is nowhere near good enough after 6 games. If you can't defend you won't win many games.

The game felt over as a contest after we got our second goal. I actually thought Forest Green looked good on the ball and they created some clear openings but the goals they conceded were all through bad defending.

Don't think we were at our best, especially in the second half but it's definitely pleasing that we got the job done. Playing 4-4-2 definitely gets the best out of Reid and allows us to fit Lee Holmes into the side who I think is a class player on his day and he was really good yesterday. Tilson, James and Jake Taylor all also played well for me.

Looked as if there was only around 150 FGR fans in the North stand. Would have definitely been a better day had we been given that stand and not had to stand in the rain for the best part of the match but it's up to them I suppose.

Onto Tuesday night now. Think Barnet will be our biggest test yet.

Agreed. He's already a ghost of the player he was last season.

Sadly I tend to agree with you, we have developed a bit of a habit of conceding two goals fairly close together timewise. It is almost that the players having made an error, to concede the first, go into some short of shock and worry about making another mistake...rather than trying to strike back straight away...this is counter productive and a second goal is conceded. What gave me heart was the last home performance against Yeovil where despite going two goals behind the team really dug in, as did the crowd, and the game was recovered. We might need to do that a little more often this season than in any previous.

Regarding the stand, that does seem fair and many of our fans felt put out when they had to give up their regular place on the "wet" terrace. It does seem a bit crazy to have a few dozen people in it whilst 800 are standing out in the rain, which is likely to be the case for most games...but it wasn't us who made the decision but those in charge of the ground. I believe there is an intention to put a roof over at least part of that stand and to install some seats, at least some of your fans were allowed to sit in the main stand.

Onto Tuesday night too...think Lincoln will be a chance to add to our points total, hopefully to gain some redress from their smash and grab at our place last season.
