Well well well, couldn't you just tell the Villa Blues game was around the corner, our form has gone to shit getting spanked up at Derby then throwing away a two goal lead at home to a team at the bottom whilst them up the road have suddenly turned into Brazil with back to back wins and an impressive dismantling of a very strong Derby side, its the same every year, depressingly predictable.

If this game was a month ago I'd have really fancied us but Smith seems to have got Villa organised and showing signs of what he plans to do. At the moment both sides are keeping their cards close to their chests with regards injuries to key players, we have Jota & Maghoma as serious doubts whilst Villa have McGinn doubtful and Chester limped off for Wales midweek, personally, I wouldn't be surprised if all four played.

Rarely is the game one for the purists, we'll try and draw Villa into a slog and try to hit on the break whilst I think they'll try and overwhelm us early doors. I worry about our defence against their front line, and to say I'm concerned about Lee Camp in goal would be the understatement of the year.

I'd rip your arms off for a draw right now, optimistically I'll go for an unexpected high scoring draw, 3-3.

Know where you're coming from, "smaller club" in Cities often claim this, truth be told there's not a lot of difference in club size in Sheffield, we are bigger but not by much, it's quite a chasm in Birmingham.
Although I'm sure the City is really Blue, with very few Villa from Birmingham and you're all arrogant, if they say it often enough they actually start to believe it themselves.

That’s a fair comment mate. Don’t know why there was an agreement between both clubs when we weren’t officially a Birmingham club until the early 1900s. I’ve said before we’ve won a lot of our trophies as a non Brummie club. I’m assuming the powerhouse as we were back then, and founder member we were trying to dictate some kind of authority over the situation. Birmingham back then was not the city it is now. I think Coventry was the major city back then.

Never heard us claim to be the working class club of the city at all, not enough of a gap in size between us compared to the 2 in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham to start spouting bollox like that. Some of you do think you're bigger than what you are at times but most know you're slightly bigger and that's that.

On to this match I'll be rooting for Birmingham in this one, keep villa as far away as possible from the top.

Well, thank god for that. Thought blues were brilliant first half hour, and had us bossed. That effort off the post goes in, and it’s probably game over. It took that effort off the post to wake us up. 3.1 up and I thought it was game over. Honestly was shitting myself when it went 3.2 and blues started pushing us back again. We are woeful at the back, but have so much threat going forward. McGinn was a huge blow, but as a whole I think we were easily deserved winners. Weird game, in the sense that it was a comfortable win, but in the same breath it was very uncomfortable. Massive win for us. Didn’t think we played that well overall.

I kept hearing this stat that Grealish is the most fouled player in the league, on that showing it’s not surprising, a gust of wind blows past and he’s on the floor holding his ankle!!! My only real complaint from the day.

I thought you were great first half hour. Honestly thought we were in for a very difficult day. You were solid all over, and a threat upfront. We were shite at the back all game. Don’t know what happened to you tbf. Grealish seems to go down a lot, but he gets fouled a lot, so that explains that.
