Probably going to be our biggest test of the season so far, a team that performed well last year and have had a decent start. If we can come through with a win it'll be a real indication that we can properly challenge this season at the top of the table.

As it is, we'll probably make a couple of changes to rest some legs, and that'll hit our rhythm a bit, a draw is the most likely result.

Reckon we'll line up something like this:

Bentley
Dalsgaard - Konsa - Mepham - Barbet

McEachran
Mokotjo - Sawyers

Benrahma - Maupay - Watkins

Final Score, 1-1, Kodija and Watkins with the goals. If there's nothing to the Woods rumours I wouldn't be surprised to see him start instead of Mokotjo or McEachran.

Brentford have played us off the park since our arrival in the championship. I expect the same tonight, if I'm being honest. We've been dogshit so far this season, but have 3 wins from 4. With us being at home, I'd be disappointed if we don't get the 3 points. 2.1 Villa, 29.895(751)

Don’t think we’ve beaten you yet though? Hoping for a repeat performance tonight, just with the points at the end of it!

Win by two goals and we go top I think, which is ridiculous.

Both draws at our gaff, but you you've won both the games at your place. First season in the championship, you battered us 3.0.

Wasn’t expecting to be second best pretty much everywhere. Second to every ball, Villa looking pretty strong.

Cracking goal from Maupay, should have been sent off though. Terrible defending for the equaliser, but Villa deserved it.

Agree with that. Don’t think I’ve seen a Brentford side not have it mostly their way like that half before. Think Aston Villa looked pretty good though to be fair, both goals were very good I thought although defence should have been better with them both.

Villa the better in that half, expect Brentford will improve though

Should have put the game out of sight after we scored the second, a bit typical of us to concede in the last minute of injury time.

Draw probably a fair result, but at the moment got to view this and the Stoke game both as 2 points dropped.

Villa are clearly going to be champions, another 95th minute goal to scrape a result, they're just getting that bit of luck a team needs to go all the way, sounds as though they're going to spend big now too to seal it.

Thought we were brilliant last night. Best footy I've seen us play in a very long time. Brentford were always a danger going forward, and at times we looked shite at the back, but what do you expect when we have players playing out of position. The last half hour Brentford were the better side. I thought they couldn't live with us before that though. Another last gasp goal which gave us a deserved point. Continue to play like that on a regular basis, and we will be around the play offs no problem. Couldn't believe how good we were at times.

You can't fault Brentford at all. Great set up for such a small club. Hopefully one day, maybe this season, they get in the prem. They have a very good manager in dean smith .

I really hope we do - with a bit more consistency and luck we might well have gone up in one of the last couple of seasons, just fell short of the play offs. Could well have done it in our first year here but for injuries taking their toll on a tiny squad.

There's a good feeling about us this year - and Smith's come out saying we're aiming for the Top 2, not just the play offs. I imagine we'll probably fall short but feel pretty confident we'll hit a play off spot, as long as we don't pick up too many injuries again.

Top two is a big statement, but why not. You'll definitely be around the play offs, I would have thought. There just seems a natural progression within your club, and the play offs is only a matter of time I think.

Great to see Kodjia look back to his old self. A confident Kodjia will always get you goals.

We were in the play offs in our first year here, and have been in the Top 10 every season since, so the play offs has to be the minimum aim.

Given the way we've started, and the way we finished last season (from game 12 to 46, our form would have seen us finish 3rd), we definitely should be aiming for Top 2 this year, even if it's much more likely than not that we won't get there.

Good! Shocking and pointless from him.
Yeah he's got it in him - annoying but hopefully he'll grow out of it.

Luckily one of the games he'll miss is against Cheltenham, where he wouldn't have played anyway, but we'll miss him a lot against Blackburn and Forest.
