Stop watching us please mate.

Did I hear right on our comms that Tivode is 20? Agree that he looks like a decent player.

That's a pretty fair assessment of where we're at. We're light up top for sure. Pyke and Wilson are taking up spots in the squad while not being used, Vernam who was looking really good and added a bit of pace/impetus has been out for a while now, Obikwu/Barrington/Svanthorsson are all young and/or inexperienced in men's/UK football and then Luker and Davies have been out most of the season up until now.

As Gladders mentions further up we missed Green today who Artell has done a superb job of transforming from a NL clogger into a marauding box to box/attacking CM.
When we start saying we are missing Pyke up front we know we are done for. TBF I think it would have been Green's kind and of game today, surging runs into the driving rain through the slime and sliding mud tackles; if he'd been on pitch I think I might have written a poem...

This is inexcusable, Newport are so bad. I don’t care how much we’ve dominated, we have to be beating a team this terrible
Maynard is heading for the sack. One home win in four, two wins in ten.
There's enough talent in that starting eleven to beat Newport and we didn't.
Tired of excuses, we're underperforming.

Great line on Twatter about how we play like we’re up against peak Milan with Baresi Maldini etc. Probing probing but creating fuck all really in the way of good openings.

Notts fans really trying to be grown up and not slag the head coach off, but Christ alive other than a few gimmes at the start of the season
He's going to get sacked soon. The Brothers Grimm won't accept our form over the last five games into the next five.

Another poor first half performance followed by a total inability to covert pressure and chances into goals in the second. Another 2 points dropped

Thought you defended pretty well today

I've calmed down a bit now from the rage in the immediate aftermath. We looked back to our usual selves defensively then we lost Stokes to injury in the last five minutes and I think we lost all organisation which allowed Grimes the freedom of Derbyshire to score.

We've got loads calling for Clemence's head but I don't think we are at that stage yet.

Almost all managers are heading for the sack, question is how long.

I just can't see it with our owners. Agree more than enough talent in the XI today and he's not getting the most out of them or close but talk of the sack is premature and daft.

It’s very hard to sum up tbf. Were some how the top goalscorers in the league with 30 yet it feels like we struggle to put sides away every week?

There’s definitely a marked difference in terms of the organisation of teams away from home at this level compared to the NL. I’d say in about 80% of our home games so far this season, every team has played the same way… sit deep, soak up pressure, and counter with pace. Teams in the league below tried it last year but ultimately didn’t have the quality much of the time to take their chances, but you see teams doing so more often.

Another issue with us at home I’m putting down to not getting a consistent side out. Feel like we’re seeing new partnerships all over the park every week. Much of it forced in fairness as we’ve had a number of injury issues this year, but would be nice for us to have a run of games with a consistent side and get a bit of flow back to our play

Anyway, back in the play offs for now heading into the FA cup weekend.
It’s definitely not helping that we don’t know our best team and haven’t had chance for partnerships to develop

Obviously the decent defending doesn’t include giving Grimes freedom of the pitch. You were very organised before that and this is what we’re struggling to deal with in this league

I can, they sacked Ardley out of the blue. Joe Palmer ( chief exec) said at the fans forum promotion was the aim and his demeanour was that it was pretty much expected.
The league table looks pretty healthy but we were decent against Harrogage, had a good half against Doncaster but apart from that we've looked laboured for weeks.

annoying game in which there was not much in it. Annoying but in reality we didn't deserve ore than a point
I wouldn't have argued with a point mate would have took that before the game thought you were a decent side as well unlike Crewe and there shithouse stuff the other week you tried to have a go and attack us.

Of course promotion is the aim, always indicated that our budget was playoff level but not top 3.

We have laboured for weeks and weeks now but lost once. It's not been a surprise tbh for the obvious reasons.

Today was a worse result than Crewe for me. Should win a dull game at home and sit 3rd right now.

We should be rightly underdogs for the next two games at Posh and Walsall. Lose both, which is likely then pressure is on but too early for me. Especially in the circumstances.

Good point against Doncaster. Only downer is we’re now bottom of the football league. The league table doesn’t lie.

People are saying “if we battle like that we’ll stay up” well I get that, and today was a good battling display, but it stinks of exactly this time last season when we got a battling point at home to Charlton and people said ah we won’t go down. Well we did.

We’re nearly in December and we are the worst team in the football league, rock bottom. Good point today yeah, but our fixtures don’t get any easier. Our only hope is we’re not cut adrift by January and we can add some much needed quality. I still think we’re in big big trouble and our fanbase’s relaxed things will be ok attitude makes me nervy.

It’s progress and something to build on come January, plus the single biggest change in the last 5 games is the atmosphere, survival is all about fans dropping the anger and getting behind the team, and the team stopping the constant panic and lack of effort and finally getting stuck in.

A month ago that would have been lost 2 or 3-0 with Doncaster having done nothing to score as we’d panic mistakes our way behind and us hardly venturing into their half let alone having a shot all played in an ultra negative anti home side atmosphere.

Is the team great……no, can I go down………yes. But at least this recent month of games has given fans a reason to really get behind the team and given the team a reason to battle and give 100% we are now scrapping and means we now have given ourselves a chance when it was gone a month ago

Progress at half time as we were actually playing football first half. Then we seemed to shit ourselves and stopped playing. Good that we battled to keep the score nil, but it just reeks of last season to me. We scraped draws against likes of Charlton, Wigan, Peterborough in first third of last season. I’ll maybe believe a bit if we can string two wins together at some point before January, but I honestly can’t see this team doing that.

Our only hope is that we can get to January not cut too far adrift, then bring in some actual footballers with a bit of quality.

There's no pressure from me, I just think he's been a mid table manager since he's been here and today was poor and that the Bros will move on from him quite soon if we don't get a sequence of wins going.
It just felt like he'd ran out of ideas today.

Yeah, look, we're 4th. Could be 7th if everyone wins their games in hand. I get why people are frustrated but this is a different situation to Ardley, who wasn't hired by these owners. Maynard even switched the wing backs at half time today, which has been the cause of all of our problems supposedly.

I watched Grimsby vs Colchester at lunch time.

It wasn't the worst game in the world, there were some chances in there but deary me, the technical quality from both sets of players was incredibly low and most of it wasn't even down to the conditions. Some of the hospital passes at the back from both sides were ridiculous in the first half along with an inability to control the ball. I reckon Grimsby managed to pass simple balls straight out of play a handful of occasions in injury time.

Not sure what game Artell was watching, he reckoned Grimsby created more and better chances but I don't think that was the case and they weren't hit by a sucker punch either, Colchester had their own chances.

To be honest, I couldn't really see what Grimsby were. They didn't defend deep and look to counter attack, they didn't control possession, they're not a strong and tall side and didn't have any pace in the side either - they were neither here nor there.

I just don’t think he’s got it in him to be successful at this level. His defenders on socials are clinging to players coming back, but let’s face it if he can only win games with a full squad it’s not a great sign.

Would be surprised if he’s sacked in the near future though unless form takes a really disastrous turn.

As I said the table looks healthy and I'm sure our possession and XG says we were unlucky today but it looked a lot like Burchnall ball today. I'm not demanding his head or even want him gone, I hope he succeeds, I just have a feeling he's not going to last much longer.

Haha definitely not saying we're missing Pyke mate  I meant we're light up top because he's taking up a spot in the squad (and on decent wages if the rumours are to be believed).

Feels massively like the season before we got promoted from the NL to me. We’re clearly a decent team, we ‘dominate’ 95% of games we play in terms of possession, territory, shots etc, but we just haven’t got that killer instinct that a successful side does. A couple of players coming back from injury isn’t going to change that.

We got lucky last time with a club from a higher level coming in for a manager we should’ve been having a serious conversation about anyway. Not sure we can get away with the same thing again - are there any London League One clubs after a manager who can guarantee loads of possession?

One of Artell’s worst traits is that he comes out with the same shit after every game whether we’ve won or lost, always conveniently forgets most of the opposition chances and after a win it’s not as annoying because it doesn’t really matter but when he tries talking us up after a shit performance it’s frustrating to listen to.
I didn’t go yesterday so I can only go off what I’ve been told but that was that we were absolutely shite and Colchester deserved the win.

Imo the comparisons to Burchnall are fair and there are similar hallmarks. I think the situation is a bit different for a couple of reasons though, in that it's not as critical to get promoted out of this division as it is the National League and my overriding memory of that full Burchnall season is that we were collapsing in games, I might be remembering one or two games more than the overall season there.

I think unless there's a big shift in league position, if you're going to do it, do it at the end of the season.

It's crazy to think if David Artell hadn't spammed a couple of lucky away wins, I'd be £12.54 richer right now.

Unfortunately you don't need to be much more than crap to beat us at the moment. We are a bottom six side, completely toothless up front and prone to errors where we will always concede. Will be very shocked if we make it to January without a decent buffer over the bottom two.

Our board's decision to change manager in the summer becomes more ludicrous by the week.

Why did they sack Wild really? Was it just because you didn’t make the play offs?

Clemence seems completely out of his depth and it was a strange appointment.

Weren’t far from relaxed - just encouraged by the recent shift in performances. We’ve tightened up at the back, and are putting together some decent moves (witness the build up to Adu-Adjei blazing over the bar yesterday for an example of just how good we can be) - just need to start putting chances away.

Had the Donny defender got back a millisecond earlier, Georgie Kelly would have been onside at the death - and we’d have won that game, lifting us out of the relegation zone and within 3 points of 3 other clubs.

Granted, we’re still in trouble, and have some tough games ahead. But we’ve not lost a game over 90 minutes in our last 5, and the only goal we’ve conceded in our last 3 league games was a penalty. It could be a flash in the pan, or it could be the first few steps on the long road to recovery.
