We take on the big sexy swaggering vegan beasts of Nailsworth in a game where I am somehow not expecting football to be the winner.

We are incredibly inconsistent at the mo, our two biggest weaknesses are that all our recognised DMs are broken, and that we appear to have forgotten how to defend from corners. Note to team: it’s preferable not to allow free headers in the box. You’re welcome.

Expecting some delicious namby-pamby, ineffectual tippy-tappery from Dale Vince’s ecowarriors.

I will be watching on iFollow as long as my patience prohibits me putting my fist through the screen at our crap crossing.

Another tough one for us with Peterborough at home. Quite fancy our chances as they’ve not been too amazing away from home this season. Caldwell’s first home game in charge and should be a decent 7k crowd.

2-1 City.

Oxford away, a ground we have a dreadful record at, half way line goals, missed penalties and last minute defeats within our last four visits!

Looks like Wilson could be out for a long period so a lot resting on Ellis Harrison but with Butterworths performances of late Wilson is probably more replaceable that in the past.

We are in good form and they seem to be improving a bit after a poor start so should be another good game. Win here would be huge and really consolidate our strong away form and position in the top half but a draw would be acceptable to keep us ticking over nicely.

Another game where I have zero idea of what will happen!

We have no idea who will be fit, who will play or how we will play. Opposition scouts are virtually pointless to watch us.

Oxford had a poor start, have improved moderately but their fans seem to be on at their manager a bit. One of those games against a side they'll expect to beat at home that if it starts going wrong, the atmosphere could turn very quickly.

As you say, a draw would be decent, but 4-6 points out of the next 2 would put us in a very good position going into December.

Put it this way I have given up doing the FanHub app line up predictions. I assume Harrison will be ok for this and was rested at the weekend so Mipo and Ellis up top with Butterworth behind would be most likely, but equally could be Massey and Politic with him!

Their home form is one of the poorest in the league so as you say a good start is key in this one and get them under pressure.

Huge 6 games now until the half way point, need 2 points to be at my pre season target at half way but the more over that we can pick up the less pressure second half of the season.

Wonder now we are both out the cup if the Plymouth game which had been moved to a Friday night will be played on the Saturday before (2nd round day).

It was be a good idea to move it, but I suspect a lot of people will have made arrangements for a Friday night game now, so probably too late.

One place below Morecambe in the form table. Would love a win but wouldn't be surprised at a draw. 1-1

Horrendous defensive mistake again to go one down. Lay siege to the Morecambe goal until Bishop scores off his shoulder in the 82nd minute. Lots of huffing and puffing afterwards in a fruitless search for a winner.

Happily take a point on Saturday away at a Lincoln side with some decent scalps on their record looking at the last 6 games.

Can't be having another home draw. Think from the 7 home league games we are on 1 win and 6 draws. Theres no denying we play better against the teams who want the ball, we sit back, defend well and hit on the break. Sometimes it doesnt work out, but highly effective against some tough teams. The worry is against the teams who do the same, we struggle to have that creative spark to unlock.

Who knows which Lincoln we'll get on Saturday! We've been pretty uninspiring at home so far this season despite being unbeaten. It's felt very boring and rigid at times.

Diamond will be back after being cup-tied last night and Walsh is available after being rested for the last couple of cup games. Robson was due to play yesterday but was ill, Bishop has a knock from the weekend. Benn and Montsma will be out because they're long-termers on their way back and no-one is quite sure where we're at with Hopper (approaching two months out now) and Mandroiu (due back any time I imagine).

Last night we switched from more of a 3-4-3/5-2-3 to 3-5-2/5-3-2 and went with two through the middle, which seemed to give us better balance when building attacks up.

Tough match against Gasheads this weekend. Joey Barton is doing a steady job there. He did pretty well with us and was backed strongly by our Chairman. Indeed with the quality of the players he brought we were good enough for the play offs. As so often happens when you have 2 alpha males working together, one has to go, and it certainly wasn't going to be Mr Pilley ! A draw will be a good result for the Cods but I won't be surprised if the hosts nick it

I cant call it either really, nobody here can ever predict a team line-up or even the formation.
Injury news is rightly kept quiet and we have had a lot recently so rock up at the ground and see 3 players out and 1 on crutches.
Sam Finley should be well up for it which will mean an obvious booking or maybe a red!...quality play though. Shame Harvey Saunders hasnt done as well, plenty of pace but acts like a greyhound who has lost its owner.

1-0 down to Oxford at HT.

We were unlucky not to be ahead until they took the lead and since then we’ve been awful (as have both teams tbh). Dreadful game not being helped by one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve witnessed. Seems like the ref has won a competition to be there tonight and wants to make it all about him. No physical contact, feels like a game of netball!

We have to improve to turn this around second half!

A feisty first half at the Meadow. We should have scored inside 5 mins then Oxford scored with their first attack. So many free kicks since that neither side can get any momentum.

I know we have been popping up on opposition fans radars re. Tactics/gamesmanship/shithousery but Oxford are going some tonight...Browne rolling around after, what was a foul, getting Moore booked, then tripping over his own feet and again rolling around. Taylor then chipping in the refs face trying to get Moore sent off in the same incident.

Booked Flanagan after winning the ball with a robust, centre half challenge.

Ref needs to get a grip of the game, I think his red card will have some ink on by 90 mins.

I'd forgotten you had Sam Finley, liked him a lot and was sorry to see him go. Harvey Saunders, well he looked really promising, hope he doesn't come back and bite us !!

Saunders doesn't really get a look-in even with 2 strikers currently out injured. Was on fire in pre-season but doesnt seem to replicate it in the real games. You may see him come on as sub.
Finners is great, one of our best players last season and has carried it on into league one. I dont know much about Fleetwoods players who are the ones to watch out for?

Well tomorrow was already going to be difficult, today it's been confirmed that Alfie May, Caleb Taylor, Ryan Jackson and Taylor Perry are unavailable due to injury. The first 3 have been our best players this season (aside from Liam Sercombe).

We are going to be so horribly defensive tomorrow - time wasting from the first whistle. If we even have a shot on goal I'll be blown away.

Looking forward to tomorrow, first home game in a while, first home game for Caldwell, and against tough opponents. No new injuries by the sound of it, so apart from centre defence a full strength side to pick from. Presumably back to a front three which will mean both sides looking to attack. I suspect Clarke-Harris will be a handful.
It will probably end badly so off for a curry afterwards

We always lose at Oxford so not expecting much. Oxford fans are moaning about being without 3 players. Well we are missing our 3 topscorers from last season James Wilson 15 goals, Jamie proctor 13 goals, Ben garrity 12 goals. Also we can't play Stevens in goal so stone has got play and the last 2 games he has played he let 3 in against Exeter and 3 against Ipswich, he was also in goal when we let 4 in away at Exeter in the season so he is a keeper that is letting goals in. Also will Forrester who has been our best defender is out injured and 2 holding midfielders funso ojo and Brad walker are out so if anybody should be moaning about players been out injured then it should be us

To be fair Garrity hasnt hit the heights this season, Forrester should be back I would think? Walker is also back training, as long as Ellis is back I will be content.

In the remembrance picture is it James Wilson on the left? If so that's positive as he didn't look crocked seriously.

They've lost over half their goals for tomorrow so that's a positive from our point of view.

That said we are in form away from home, I think they haven't won at home since early September and have no one available who has scored more than a goal this season... we all know how this tends to go for us!

Point would still be acceptable and would be disappointed if we lost this one but play as we have recently we have a chance here.
