Half of their team either played for Crawley, who finished seventh, or Notts, who finished fourteenth, last season. They’re clearly underperforming but I think that it’s just because they’ve spent lots of money on them rather than who is actually there that has people expecting big things of them (I was probably taken in by it in the summer tbf).

They also lost Dean, Bate and Payne at the end of last season, all really good players and better than anyone they’ve brought in to replace them.
Fair post. As RavenBish mentioned, it does stink of lazy recruiting of ex mates and players who appear good in statistical terms / had one good season recently vs really well thought through acquisitions. Similarly, not sure what we do when they get here as we seem to have an endless amount of players who are/were shit for us but great everywhere else. The whole thing is a bit bizarre. Aspirations of the Premier League with these new billionaire owners and heading as far backwards as we’ve ever been.

Great strike, lad. MK Dons back in it.
Our new lad Tommi O’Reilly on loan from Aston Villa 2 minutes into his debut…not bad. Our other new lad Jay Williams with the assist…

I take it back, outstanding recruitment by Liam Sweeting.

What if the richest club in the world only had DVDs of Notts County’s 23/24 season to go off

Tough game at Chesterfield. I think they've got a pretty decent squad, albeit hampered by injuries. I still think they'll be strong at home. 7 points from 9 for us, so hopefully we've got past our absolute stinkers.

Garrity is such a huge player and influence for us. In the top 5 best players in the division for me...he's incessant and often outruns the opposition. One of our greatest buys of recent years. Harper also showed he's a good player in the second half yesterday. Byers likely on the bench I think.

Tolaj has found his ideal position and will cause problems with his movement. The two wingbacks were excellent and give us balance and threat.

It's likely to be a classic Moore away performance. If we go 1 up, expect us to sit in, let Chesterfield have all the ball and we just shut them down. Our issue comes when we go a goal down.

I'd take a draw and target a win at Colchester.

Feels like we need a win in this.

We’ve been on a really poor run of results due to injuries. Having said that.

Fleetwood away - we were the better team but lost.
Bradford away - we played well and tbh deserved a point from the game.
MK dons at home - we lost but deserved something.

Surely our luck has to change at some point and with some additions to the squad and returning players (I’m looking at you Paddy Madden) - I think we will do okay. Draw probably the most likely result.

0:0 about all either team deserved. It was a match that showcased all the worst L2 can offer. No ability to control the ball, pass accurately or display any tactical formation. We'll have to play much better if we are to get anything from Doncaster, Milkton Keynes, Crewe or Bradford.

I can see us beating you actually. 1 win in 8, but we’ll turn up for that game and then return to being shite afterwards. Written in the stars as Tinie Tempah would say.

A really good win by Fleetwood tonight. Full of energy, hassling their defenders at every turn, and along the way playing some lovely football. Deserved lead at half time and when Rooney scored to make it 2-0 it looked to be over. Fair play to the Dons, a goal out of nowhere and for the last 10 minutes they had Fleetwood on the back foot. Relief when the whistle blew !! No doubt Wild is improving the whole squad, and we do have some good momentum at the moment

There's two big problems with MK as far as I can tell:

1) They play that pointless possession shit, which will give them wins over some of the crap. But when they come up against a team who presses them, they'll eventually lose it and concede goals. When will managers learn that the players aren't good enough to play this way?

2) They've seemingly just bought in random players with no idea how to use them or how to assemble a team. It's a tale as old as time with clubs that have big budgets.

To add to that, they’ve gone for a guy who basically had a pretty fortunate season with Crawley, who just stumbled upon 2 or 3 very good players that scraped them into the playoffs. He's hardly got a sparkling CV and was dreadful at Swindon.

Really poor management and ownership from top to bottom. They'd better hope their owners are as rich as they say because they're going to be spending a lot of money rectifying mistakes.

Did Franchise lose again? Oh dear, what a shame, how sad. Not. This will probably bite us on the bum on Saturday.

Our squad is in a pretty good place at the moment. Getting player's back from injury . Hopefully Bugiel will be back Saturday maybe on the bench at least. We have nothing to fear going there. The first goal will be important.

You always play better against us, I don’t think we’ve scored against you in the League yet

Fleetwood away They are starting to hit a bit of form after back to back wins.

We on the other hand are on our worst run of form under Williamson, and that is saying something.
And there are some people that think we're heading in the right direction :ffs:

Sadly I can only see this game going one way and that's a comfortable Fleetwood win.
Fleetwood Town 3-0 Carlisle United

We are 100% down anyway in my book but it would be nice to actually improve a bit before relegation is mathematically confirmed. I just don't see any signs of that at the moment and with us chucking a new team together over night it would be a lot to expect any time soon.

Barrow away. Didn't realise there was a round of Tuesday night games this week.
Feel like this is a big week for us we will either be in the play-off race or further behind the pack and firmly in mid table come 2nd of Feb . 4 points minimum needed probably .all relatively tough games looks like the home end for Bromley as our allocation now gone

It's alright actually. We went in the home end before Christmas and the club bar was actually really good. It's one of those weird grounds where you can pretty much go where you like. We walked round to the terrace behind the managers. Decent bunch of fans.

Think i went once in the nl days but the game was actually called off on a Tuesday night so never went , or maybe that was Boreham wood ? Maybe a fellow Town fan can remember as my memory is awful.

Quite looking forward to it sounds alright going for a few in london b4 and after and no doubt the ground bar then , is it all covered?

We did exactly the same. Bromley as a town didn't look up to much but it's a shortish train ride to Central London.

The newish end for home fans is but the terrace that we were on was open.

Can I shock you? I like Fleetwood
You've got good taste mate ! I love the place warts and all, like all of us with our home town/club. In a few months Fleetwood Cricket Club will begin to defend their crown as Champion of the Northern Premier League. It's only taken me 78 years to see them win it on the final day last season !!

Things starting to look up a little bit here on the availability / fitness of our squad in recent weeks. Paddy Madden, Ash Palmer & John Fleck all back in training last week, with Bim Pepple (Luton) & Jai Donacien (Ipswich) being brought in too. This week has seen Michael Jacobs, Jenson Metcalfe & Daley-Campbell return to training, with both Jack Sparkes (Peterborough) & Kyle McFadzean (Blackburn) being signed too. So that’s 10 bodies available for selection Saturday that weren’t around just a fortnight ago.

Will see what happens over the next two days before predicted an XI as to whether we bring anyone else in or if anyone goes the other way (James Berry). But I’m definitely starting to feel much more positive.

This will be our hardest game of the last 5/6. Anything less than what we've shown over the last few matches will not bode well
For what it's worth, I like Carlisle and Morecambe, both Northern clubs and sorry to see them struggling. I hope you both get out of jail, and if you get a result on Saturday...well done
