Vale fans - was the ref this week just rubbish or part of the organised conspiracy against you?

Any talk of conspiracy is silly from vale fans but there's no denying that we've been on a particularly shite run of refs recently.

I thought he was crap but that makes him the best we've had for 5-6 games.

He bottled harry smith completely. 30 minutes in he had given away 3-4 fouls, squared up to 3 different players, was showing his petulance over any decision against him. The ref stopped giving him warning after warning and ended up just pointing at him whenever he did anything wrong. He pretty much rugby tackled Connor hall at one point.

Could just tell with what they got away with first half that the yellows were about to flow for us and sure enough they did. It was genuinely gob smacking that he gave the free kick for absolutely nothing in the run up to the penalty. There was far more of a foul on harper in the box but no chance we are getting a soft pen at the min.

Best Harry Smith moment was playing for Orient against us, they went 2-1 up in the 87th minute and he was taunting the home fans after taunting our defender when he deflected the equaliser in for 1-1... queue 2 injury times goals for Vale and Mad Lucas running from goal to celebrate nut megging him as he tried to get the ball back from the mental celebrations.

I thought he was ok Saturday, best we've had for a while, Connor Hall had he held his face and gone down when Smith put his head to him maybe asks the question of the referee but we are too honest for that I can't moan about other clubs doing the antics and want us to do it. (Connor did have a little toe poke too to cause the reaction!)

The Smith v Smith battle was both of them at it, as you'd expect being the type of players they are and in the end I think it was just a guess as to who was fouling who! good old fashioned battle, assuming Smudge was doing his usual the to be fair to their Smith he did well not to react as I am sure that's what he was hoping for!
