7 years after work stopped, finally they’ve come to an agreement and our white elephant of an East Stand will be completed.

Finally we can move on and resume our charge up the divisions.

I assume people will also be wondering what happened to the original loan, here’s a relatively recent summary of affairs.

^ that bottom one is a pretty nice summary of where the money went (TLDR; our crooked ex chairman spread it around like Monopoly money).

Glad you are getting it completed. How much is the capacity of the stand? It looks very low capacity for a stand on the side of a pitch. With the space sixfields has I was surprised by the small scale of the project. Still, at least you will have 4 sides again.

Originally it was supposed to match the West Stand on the opposite side but obviously the old owners had their grubby hands on the loan so we ended up limited to essentially what the stand looked like before.
I think it’s around 1500 down the side.

From the pictures it looks like the seats will remain as they are and it will be the other facilities that's missing? Toilets, food and drinks stalls, corporate boxes etc?

Bet we easily beat anyone on that front
Our Lorne Street was started in 1997... however one massive visual improvement (Thanks to the Robbie Williams concert) fans will see this season is it is now complete on the outside so fully seated... took 23 years to get to that stage... just the concourse to go!

Similar to our main stand. Cannot fully complete due to the road directly behind the stand. Council refused planning permission.

Currently holds just over 9,000 but was supposed to hold 12,500.

Maybe one day.

But things could be changing very soon.
Indeed. With Glasto having been cancelled for the last two years they are hoping to replace the current army ridge tent with some surplus "hardly used" luxury gazebos and yurts, courtesy of Eavis Incorporated Enterprises.

Rumour has it that it will be re-named "Emily's End".

What you need to do is just steal a stand from a non-league team like we did. Great success!

Clicked on this thinking it would be a thread about Stockport. Disappointed. 2/10 would not recommend.
Same here, expected to read about some sort of 5 year masterplan

As for stands just get a temporary golf stand and leave it there, forever.

And again, fuck off!

(any plans for a temporary roof on the temporary golf stand?)

No plans at all. Leaving it there until it’s a listed structure as the oldest temporary stand in the world.

(In all seriousness attention is now on a new ground at a site not too far away, although I doubt it’ll ever happen).

It’s a shame Gillingham never got round to developing that stand similar to say the other end of the pitch as Priestfield would be a pretty tidy looking stadium then. Only been in that temporary stand once during our last promotion season and that was enough for me.

It wouldn’t have happened for you guy (if I remember rightly you bought a huge following that day considering the distance), but we have started moving smaller away followings in to the covered side stand especially if the weather is bad.

Don’t be silly, Stockport fans aren’t daft enough to expect the Prem, just Championship in 3 years instead:

I think there's a typo in that. Poster meant 'in three years he'll be ON Championship Manager'

Northampton is one of the worst away days in league two. Absolute dump of a place and a complete pain in the arse to get to. No pubs, no decent restaurants, it's just crap.

It's awful. The steep metal flooring is actually a massive hazard in the rain. It absolutely pissed down a few years back when I went. I felt like I was going to slip and I am only in my 30's. God knows what it is like for the older ladies and gents amongst us.
