Unfortunately, I can see United's unique blend of skilful possession, amazing passing and multiple, unstoppable shots leaving Watford for dead. Actually, strike that, they'll bore them into submission with their usual insipidly shite (but strangely effective) football.

1-2.

There's nothing strange about controlling the tempo and looking to exploit mistakes. It's building a base to improve upon.

In 6 home matches, Watford have scored 3 and conceded 4 (3 in a single match to Arsenal). Manchester United has only conceded one goal in its 6 away matches, but average only 9 shot attempts per match in those matches - the 2nd worst rate in the league (West Brom). 5 of those 9 shots on average are from outside the box. This suggests United are even more negative/less adventurous on the road.

0-0 seems the most likely.

I expect United to comfortably beat Watford, considering United fans are already claiming they will win the league.

Van Gaal should make you his public relations consultant.

Utd should win this 3 - 1 but stranger things have happened in football, UTD are a big club and they will raise their game

I want to say 0-0 but Man Utd are bound to get a jammy goal aren't they? Surely? 0-1.

Unless Herrera starts, then they'll win 1-0 and he'll be the key.

Yet we put 6 goals past Everton and Southampton away from home...

I've been impressed with Watford, thought they'd struggle to integrate so many new players but Sanchez Flores has done a good job and they play like a team as much as anyone. And with a goalscorer like Ighalo they're always capable of getting something out of a game.

Still, I'd be naturally disappointed if we get anything less than 3 points here.

You did. That's 2 of 6 road games - how many goals have your scored in the other 4 away games? I was simply offering the fact that United average fewer shots away from home than every side in the league bar West Brom - they are more negative/less adventurous on the road.

Gulp.

I'm not even sure if Wilson is fit so fuck knows who is going to play up front.

Good chance for Depay to come back into the team and prove himself though.

That looks bad but it's only two players in that list that we'll actually miss, and one of them we've been calling for LVG to drop. The only reason he is missed is because Martial is out. This is just deserts for not investing properly in the striking department.

Not really, Valencia has looked more reliable than Darmian recently. Fellaini would've been a good option to have with Rooney and Martial also out (he might not be pretty but he can be effective and his end product is good). Carrick looked better against CSKA and West Brom and would've been very much in contention to start this.

The point is they shouldn't be missed as a they're essentially backup players.

Is Young fit?

In 33 Premier League matches for Manchester United, Fellaini has made 6 goals, 0 assists, and 36 shots. That isn't good - that is a sub-Bendtner level of production.

Most of those matches were as sub and sporadically so it's hard for him to gain any momentum or confidence. At the start of this season I remember it was 6 goals in 19 starts, that isn't a bad return at all considering all the factors. Since he's been in the PL he's proved he can score goals in this league.

Why ignore his substitute appearances when 2 of the 6 goals were scored as a substitute?

One of the sub goals was against West Brom when he came on at half time. Generally I'd wager he mostly came on around the 70 minute mark. Don't have to ignore that but it's worth taking into account. I'm not saying he's any great goalscorer but more often than not he poses a goal threat and with Martial and Rooney out I'd be more confident about this game if he was fit.

I'm going to take it that you mean "bores" as the penetrative definition.

We're efficient with our penetration and bring the satisfaction. Better than throwing in a few softies and leaving disappointment.

A lot of your fans have been leaving rather unfulfilled with it however, they maybe need someone with big balls to take it by the scruff of the neck, then you'll get your fill. :D
