Optimistically thinking come 3rd January we’ll be down to 2 wins from safety, and completed our first double in EFL Div 2. However, my head says take a point, with 1 - 1 draw

Vale have only beat Cheltenham twice in the last 13 meetings. Also vale have only won once away at forest green 2 years ago on New year's day in the last 35 years. Cheltenham come into the match with much better form so it's a nailed on away win. Poor form, terrible record in new years day games, Cheltenham a bogey team and lots of injuries easy away win

Curtis absolutely tortured them when he came on a month ago… so will probably be out the 18 for this one!

Bore draw up at Barrow. Be nice to win, obviously.

We can't keep this up, it just doesn't compute with my Walsall supporting experience. So expecting a draw away at Notts County wednesday. Funnily enough they're the last team to score against us! Expecting a much tighter game with Crowley back.

Notts have been the best team I've seen against us this season i said after the game they'd be up there and to have a little patience and now they sit second I'd take a draw now tbh.

THE BIG ONE

Looking forward to it, Walsall obviously very good so a good test to see where we’re at. Slightly worrying that Tsaroulla was ill, Macari pulled out before kick off and Ness went off injured - we’re in a spot of bother if they’re all out. Pretty typical that we start to get our attacking players back fit and then defenders start dropping like flies.

Gave Walsall a good game a few weeks ago and that was without Crowley and Jones so every reason to think we can get something.

I suspect all teams will need a degree of rotation if availability allows.Asking players to be on top of their game every 3 days from Boxing Day is a big ask. We may see some ‘shock’ results

Should be a cracker. If Walsall being 2,000 I'd be hoping for a 12-13,000 gate, maybe a few more.
We're suddenly playing well after the absolute nadir at Salford only three games ago.
The big question is over Josh Martin who today looked an undroppable world beater after three months of complete anonymity.

I’d love to know what happened after the Salford game, our worst performance for years and lots of talk from the manager and McGoldrick afterwards of difficult conversations and home truths etc, and to be fair it’s sparked something. Probably our three best performances since promotion in a row.

This should be a cracker, we actually did okay at Walsall really with a very depleted team, so at home and with four or five players back who missed that one I’d hope we can get something.

I have doubts our game will even go ahead to be honest. Torrential rain forecast to fall from Tuesday evening right the way through until 3pm on Wednesday. Our pitch can take a lot, but this might be too much. If the game does go ahead, it'll be a shocker that will probably destroy the pitch and be a total sludge fest of a game.

I'll predict a win as Carlisle are 23rd after all, but it'll be a tough game and we're not firing on all cylinders at all of late.

Need to win this as patience has worn thin with Moore now. Anything less not really good enough given the game after this is away at Doncaster.

Cheltenham were one of the most threatening teams going forward we've faced today. If they play like that at yours and you're low on confidence it could be a tricky afternoon.
It's impossible to judge teams on one game snapshots but they looked pretty good going forward if short of pace at the back.

Fancy us to get a decent result at Vale. Tactically, we're set up to play better away and as I said after the Boxing Day game, I fancy us against anyone these days.

That being said, we're remarkable at ending bad runs for teams.

Both sides worked incredibly hard at Whaddon Road yesterday with your closing down and Cheltenham being without the ball for long periods there will be some extra tired legs and may play a part on NYD. The Gambian Prince and Sam Austin ran themselves into the ground.

Resting McGoldrick was the right then to do, Martin now poses a very surprise question, defensively we have real issues due to injury that need a Tsaroulla back to solve ideally.

Jones on the bench again is a festive bonus.

Guaranteed to be out 8th 10,000+ crowd of the season, and could be out 2nd highest with over 12,000 at the Lane. Simply remarkable for the grand old lady of English football.

Last I heard we had sold out the 1500 provided but we aren't sure if we will get any more or be allowed to pay on the day.

The big question is ' with all the rain forecast will we bother with the sprinklers before kick off '

Was really impressed with McGoldrick against us very good player could see he's done it at a higher level.

Accrington were poor against us a few weeks ago at BP and their current form is terrible so that makes me think that this isn't going to be easy. Players put in a decent shift yesterday against Vale so I'd expect a few changes based on who is feeling it. Green will be back in you'd imagine. We could do with Obikwu back but I wouldn't be surprised to see Gardner back in for Rose so that we have Rose fresh for Bradford.

Awaiting injury updates on Cass, Thompson and Obikwu.

Gardner has a hamstring injury and that is why he didn’t feature v Port Vale.

Didn't realise that mate. Thought he was on the bench yesterday tbh  Maybe we'll see Pyke start a game then. Do you know how long any of the injured lot are out for?
