He had a 45% win rate at villa. Good appointment and you’ll see next season when Wednesday are up there challenging the play offs. It would be easy for me to run him down, but it weren’t all bad at villa. Shit to watch and was way out of his depth at the end. Good appointment .

Well Bruce has took the job, but he's not exactly jumping into it. He's got other commitments until February
I wouldn't be happy about that if he was coming to United. If he wasn't willing to start the day after a contract being put in front of him it would be getting torn up

No one knows what these commitments are. I’m sure it’s a valid enough reason. Agnew will do a good enough stand in job.

I'm sure they're important to him, and the caretaker will do a good job I think. But he's not exactly chomping at the bit, which is what fans want to see

Sounds like your still in love with Bruce and his staff.

No mate, im just not an horrible bitter bastard. I liked him, and still do. I was one of the last to go against him, and I really wanted it to work for him at our place. It never, and he had to go, but I wish him well. As I said it weren’t all bad and he brought much needed stability to our club. He made us hard to beat, and we went on some good runs. He lost the plot big time at the end, but being manager of villa is far from easy.

I think he will be. I don’t think he would have taken the job otherwise if he weren’t up for it. I’m surprised he is back this quick, but that’s just me. It’s a big club that are desperate to get back to the prem, and he will relish that.

Coppell had an extended holiday before he joined us, so did Clough at Leeds.... both stints lasted a matter of months.

Isn’t it the same with anyone in the top end of football? Ok it’s 2 million quid a year, but he’s had a nice pay off from us. It’s a job that pays well granted, but I don’t think he would have just taken it for the money.

Course he's taken it for the money, he can't even be arsed to start for another month. Don't get me wrong I think he will have them near the top again next year but no doubt another 10m plus will be spent.

We all do it for money. As you say, they will be up there next season.

Apparently the starting in February is something to do with Bruce's contractual issues with Villa. I doubt we'll do anything this January but I'm sure Bruce will already be calling the shots, I also believe Chansiri was wanting to sack Jos for a while but was waiting on the right replacement or for Bruce to become available.

Bruce not starting until Feb 1st because he's going to west indies for the cricket, sounds really interested in his new job then.

Can’t fault that. Would you cancel a planned trip there for the cricket :)

As it happens I'm going for it as well, going after him though, think if I was Wednesday's chairman I'd have maybe explored other options, wouldn't you?

You get about a bit. Being serious, yes, I’d be annoyed that he’s not cancelling a cricket trip. That’s one of the things that may come back to bite him if his reign doesn’t start too well.

Ahh life's for living, not wasting imo mate, each to their own though. He's probably lost interest in football management now, he will be a very rich man and doesn't need the hassle, could be his last job this one. He almost certainly won't get one at a biggish club again if he fails.

Good on ya. Tbf, I was surprised he came back into management this quick. We brought him back into football, and no way was he going to turn us down. In the end he had a tough time of it with his mum and dad dying, then things going to shit at villa. He looked a shadow of his former self at the end. I honestly thought he’d take a year out, then come back for another go, because he will always have clubs after him. I can’t see him being not up for it. It’s a good pay day, and a chance to get a big ish club back to the prem. It’s a win win situation for him.

He’s just turned 58. Still a few years in him yet, providing his heart is still in it.

If I'd just had a massive payoff I wouldn't be rushing back to work either.

He'll do a good job I reckon, gets himself a couple of months this season to assess the squad and then make a proper go of it next season. If he gets them promoted, he'll be loved. If it all goes tits up, who cares, get yourself another massive payoff and go back to the Caribbean.

He's spending time with his wife as a promise he made when she'd looked after his dying parents, when he was at Villa. Don't see the problem, bigger things in life than football, and we aren't going up or down so hardly critical he starts right away.
