Looking at that list I would say Swindon, Tranmere and Hartlepool have had better gates (relative to their level)than they have had in recent years, ours have been a bit disappointing and quite a few are at a level that can`t realistically support league football

Home support for FGR will remain small even after club relocates to Eco Park, 'cos the new wooden 'vanity' stadium has same capacity as at TNL: - around 5,000.

I agree with others that the poor home support for a club that's been top of table for the entire season is utterly embarrassing.
You are utterly embarrassing to be honest! Go suck off every other club, like you constantly do.

Not sure about Hartlepool, but the others plus yourselves have all ‘benefitted’ from a fairly recent change of owner. When all aspects of a club are pulling in the same direction, progression is much easier.

Nothing embarrassing about stating the truth.
FGR's attendance is probably the worst ever for a leading promotion team in history.
That is embarrassing.
Go support someone else then. I bet you don’t even go to games.

You don’t seem to like FGR anyway.

Seems you are happy with one of the most embarrassing lowest attendances in football league and want to reduce it even further.

Be happy to have you not be a fan of FGR true.

I am a Seaon ticket holder so do my bit, I am willing to guarantee you are not.

Now go suck off Swindon, you could go and support them and be part of a massively supported club.

You Sir are coming across as an unpleasant person that is incapable of accepting genuine criticism of club.

You can't win on this. If FGR were suddenly selling out every week they would be accused of having glory hunters.
I think their crowds are fine given their population, and they seem to be doing it sustainably (pardon the pun). I would prefer the new stadium to the trek up the hill at the moment, so good to hear that's on the way.

Sounds like some of our fanbase when you criticise some of our recent decision making. Got to agree with everything or you're not a fan.

It’s how things are put across though.

If he/she had said, “lm very disappointed with FGR’s home numbers considering the season I would totally respect that, wouldn’t necessarily agree, but totally get it.
To say FGRks crowds are the most embarrassing in the history of football is not constructive in anyway, and I fact makes you look like you are not a fan of the club whatsoever.

We're getting the sort of gates now we used to get in L1. I'd say our crowds are maybe 1k higher than what I'd expect us to get in L2. Promotion and post-covid bounce (applies to most teams) have helped, we haven't got new owners, Raj Singh has been around for a few years now. Challenge is keeping them in, I'd see them dropping off if Raj insists on doing everything on the cheap again next season.

We also have had a lot of Tuesday night games since Christmas.

Again this really affects us with where the club is situated. Would not be surprised if it’s down at 1700-ish home fans for about 5 atuesday games.
You are not far off in that home fans at FGR night matches since Christmas only average 1889, whilst afternoon games average 2461.

Or even related? :bg:
No chance of us being related but possibility that we know each other at TNL.
Sad that the guy does not realise I had posted a backhanded compliment.
If FGR secure promotion with the lowest attendances in league history then that would offer incentive for other smaller clubs to 'go for it'.
I'm still a bit bewildered with his bizarre reaction to what can only be considered a non-contentious post.

What makes me laugh is the insults about us being a small club...or a club without any history, despite us being older than a fair few large-ish League Teams...but our retort of "Village team, we're beating you!" or "From Premier League to Forest Green" are probably the best way to respond, with a bit of humour...we may be small but we are on the up, whereas your best days are behind you!

I think it's fair to say for the size of club we are our crowds aren’t terrible, although you'd always hope for more being top of the league. The problem will come if we overstretch ourselves gambling on there being a lot more potential growth in our crowds then there actually turns out to be. No point building a massively expensive out of town stadium if you can't make it profitable, and lets be honest we're never going to be able to sustain Championship football even if we did somehow ever get there despite what Vince might say.

FGR crowds have always been small, even in Conference days.
I can remember travelling to an away match with entire away support of about nine or ten others in Ken's mini-bus even though it was at a time when FGR were doing okay.
One of the best grounds we ever visited was Lincoln [pre-Danny Cowley] which had thousands of passionate home supporters. The atmosphere was electric and all the better because those were the times when FGR always won at their place.

Very true, thought the attendance and atmosphere on Tuesday night was pretty decent, can remember games in the Conference when a midweek game might have attracted 600-700, unless we were playing someone either big or fairly local.

Mind you, there have been a few away games when you did wonder where our support had materialised from...in the Swindon FA Cup game where we had something like 1500 there, despite our average home attendance being just over half that at that time. Nearly 700 to Brentford for the League Cup game this season was also pretty impressive...and noisy!

It's all about catchment areas and the type of individuals within that catchment area.
Your area could be relatively large but with football at Bristol and Swindon and the Rugby 'giants' of Gloucester and Bristol all within historical commuting distance, you'll have to build that up over time.
That's why the Donkeys have struggled and why we don't have such a big following within our relatively large catchment area with all of the London and Midlands 'bigger' clubs within an easyily commutable hour of Northampton.
Keep winning and moving up the leagues and you'll eventually get the 'lifelong' supporters who are currently the youngsters making it a regular and habitual ritual.
Good luck in League One next season, hopefully you are able to get up and stay there for at least a couple of seasons.
