Worryingly Tranmere have a habit of not turning up at Field Mill with only one win there in the 50 years I’ve been watching them and I missed that one.
Don’t understand Mansfield’s abject failure to compete at the right end of the table in recent seasons considering they are well backed. Perhaps too many chefs are spoiling the broth!

Recent years it’s due to poor managerial appointments and recruitment, it’s more complicated this time round.

Cursed for being scabs.

That be a good suggestion if the club had anything to do with the miners strike in the mid 80s.

I have plans on Saturday evening that mean I won't be making the trip to Orient with the Poolie hordes (550 tickets sold so far). I've been around half a dozen times and have some good memories. Highlights include a 4-2 winunder Danny Wilson in 2007 and a 3-1 win three years later with Gary Liddle grabbing a rare double. He also picked up a booking in the game and the aftermath from that particular fuck up almost relegated us.

11 years on I would expect Liddle to slot back into defence after his return from injury on Saturday. Neill Byrne will be suspended so there's a vacancy, though I think he'd have played anyway.

I'd take a draw, which seems to be LO's currency of choice right now. We've got a run of four (well, three plus a pizza thing) home games to follow, so I'll be happy with a point.

All tickets £5 for our game Saturday. Whenever we do ticket deals we always lose.

Northampton away.

This could be anything. 4, 5, 6-0… take your pick.

Words cannot accurately convey how boring we are.
Ticket deal at home? Nailed on away win.

We’ll take it, up until our last away we’ve been pretty hopeless on our travels, hoping it wasn’t just a single positive blip and we can get some away momentum going, I’d be very happy with a point here.

Stevenage for us! hard to say how this will go as they have little if any representation on these boards, but looking at their results i think we have a better than even chance of winning this one.

Barrow away for us. Our last few fixtures have made me feel like we’ve been relegated to the Blue Square in circa 2008. Or the Unibond league with Salford.
Had a good trip to Barrow in the cup a few years ago and never would’ve thought we’d be playing them in the league so soon. Though I commend them for going up and staying up on a shoestring budget.
Looking forward to this one, though I can’t see the mad scramble for tickets as with the cup game. Apparently trains from Rochdale are broken at the weekend so can see our following being a bit reduced.
I’m feeling a decent result coming if we play like we did first half v Sutton. We were back to our best then. Though if we play like we did from minutes 80-93 then we’ll lose.

Good move for fans. Hope you fill the ground.

Home stands have sold out, I believe. Though, unlike a certain MASSIVE club in this division, we don’t count absent ticket holders to inflate our attendance figures. Because that would be tinpot.

Does that still happen? I thought most clubs would have been embarrassed out of that practice by now.

Pools have currently sold over 600 tickets for the match too. Should be decent.

Beat Forest Green at home last season 4-1. Happily take a repeat this Saturday but can't see it.

Got off to a bright start tonight with an early goal, but Sutton have turned it on its head to lead 2-1 after 17-year-old Samson Tovide was sent off on his first league start for handball on the line.

We continue to look pretty toothless, a goal behind and a man short so it's pretty much game over already. Sutton controlling it with patient passing.

Do Colchester still put on a bus from near Asda to the ground?

No, it was binned off a couple of seasons ago.
Yes, i was caught out by that. Long walk back to the station.
Shame, they seem determined to make it impossible for people to get there by anything other than driving

I did feel for the guy, I don’t think the handball was deliberate. He looked distraught has he went off.

Port Vale on a decent run. Crawley on a poor one. Should only be one winner...but...

We are capable of losing five on the trot and winning five on the trot and we are actually better against the footballing sides. Also, apart from Scunthorpe, our losses have had elements of bad luck to them.

Nah, can't see anything but a Valiant win. Good form and a great record against us will see them win this quite easily.

I don't think it's going to be easy. Heard your manager and one of your defenders interviewed after the game against Scunthorpe and they basically said it wasn't good enough and sounded like they were determined to make amends.

Can see you coming out like a train and if we can navigate that then our quality should shine through. We have to be all at 7/8 out of 10 which it seems our manager can get out of them. We also work forensically on the opposition and work in training all week on it. In previous years we just turned up and hoped for the best.

Under one manager we didn’t even scout the opposition or work on them. Dazzler has each one as a project. Chalk and cheese.

Be tough, Even though we have a good record they are usually close games.

With our away form it’s difficult not to feel fairly confident given Bradford don’t seem to be that consistent at home (3 wins in 7, 1 in their last 4) but still expect a tough game. It will depend on what sort of game Bradford want, if it’s fairly open and free flowing I’d back us, if they keep it tight and stop us playing through our wing backs (like Swindon did) then it could easily go the other way.

The slight worry is that despite having previously had a brilliant run of clean sheets, in our last few games we’ve gone back to looking a bit more vulnerable at the back with gaps reappearing in our back 3. We’ve been reliant on some top class saves in most games from Luke McGee. Think we’ve missed Dan Sweeney a bit but the good news is that Udoka Godwin-Malife is back and looked sharp when he came on Saturday. Reckon he might well start.

We set up at Swindon to nullify a good side and attack on the break, the classic away from home tactic which you generally wouldn’t expect us to do at home, but given the success of last weekend and the fact we’re up against the top of the league side, I would be very surprised to see us change a winning side injuries permitting.

That makes sense and something other clubs would also do the same.

I'm looking forward to trip to Valley Parade. I've already paid a fiver for parking in club car park.
On my only previous visit I didn't get chance to have a decent look at Memorial for those who died in fire. I'll make sure I do this time.
Playing Bradford away be biggest league gate that FGR will appear in front of this season and that makes this game special.
FGR supporters will probably be outnumbered by about 150 to 1. But I expect us to make a decent noise that will be heard around the stadium.
Roll on Saturday. :2thumb:
