Wow how bad are MK Dons. Worst side ive seen this season. Shame we couldnt put some more past them but its another 3 points
They were awful when we played them but scored both chances they had! We still had a half fit side mixed with kids mind at the time.

Couple of surprise strugglers currently.

I don't think I will see a worse team this season, they didnt look like creating anything and didnt get so much as a corner.
MK fans boo'd them off too and sang 'Your're not fit to wear the shirt".
We werent great but didnt have to be

nice to see bradley johnson getting a bit of comeuppance too, flicked the game on tonight just as he took a ridiculous dive with gibbo nowhere near him, and then he gave a needless pen away 10 mins later.

Between Manning and Robinson you’d think for the next to go. Personally though I still think Oxford will turn their fortunes around, not sure I can see MK doing the same any time soon. Good couple of results for Rovers though.

My god MK are an awful side. We weren’t very good either but did what we needed to do. But honestly they are in deep trouble if they don’t get rid of their manager right now.

Not that I blame their fans, but I’ve never experienced such a quiet stadium. It doesn’t help that it has 30k+ with 6k fans, but it’s just weird when it goes quite - kinda like being in a large empty hall.

We played pretty well in the first half, fell away a bit after we went 3 and then 4-1 down though. In the end Posh were too good although a couple of their goals were pretty soft.

Couldn’t really afford to concede 4 (again) and get much out it. At least we’re sharing the mistakes around the team, so we can’t just blame one or two individuals which would be bad for team spirit.

Something very very wrong at ours. Our squad might not be as good as last season but it isn't relegation quality. Not sure what else to say, we were dire.

How have Charlton scored 4? Crazy!
3 fairly lucky goals, bunch of deflections. :( The crazy thing is despite conceding 4 I felt we deserved at least a point from the game. We had a shot come off the underside of the crossbar etc.

Just one of those games where nothing goes our way.

To be fair, if anyone else would be open to signing a petition for all League One fixtures to adopt play 8-a-side until the January transfer window opens (given we don’t have any full-backs or enough wingers) we’ll be out of a relegation scrap in weeks!

Aye, we’ve got 6 players out injured currently and either have to fill the bench up with youth players or not even field a full bench. On top of this we’re having to play players like Rekeil Pyke and Harry Burgoyne and we’re still doing alright in 9th place. No excuses :lac:;)

Yes you definitely have the players but I think we gave Mk Dons too much respect and should have gone for the jugular more. Great save by your keeper from Gibsons header!
It was definitely the most relaxed i've been holding onto a 1-0 lead, there was no real urgency from MK Dons even after we scored and that must be a worry.

So with our record equalling winning run just about ended last night, we roll on to Vale looking to get straight back to winning ways.

Annoyingly it seems as soon as 1 or 2 players get back fit, another 3 or 4 are struck down injured. We’ve just got Cargill & Boyes back, but lost Wickham & JMT for last night with ‘knocks’ and then saw both Brown & McAllister limp off during the game. Literally every player in our squad, bar our two keepers and a couple of the younger lads have missed games through injury already this season. It’s been utterly ridiculous.

I guess that makes up for the majority of last season when you were injury free whilst running away with it :bg:

Always the way ain’t it, when you’re doing well injuries never pile up. When you’re struggling players keep dropping like flies.

The fact that only two players (inc our keeper) have been able to be involved in all 13 games so far this season seems a bit extreme though. We constantly seem to have between 7-10 players out recently, and it’s often different ones. A few long terms like Stevens, Dokes & Matt certainly don’t help either, but at least we know to plan without them. It’s all the other knocks and strains that are the biggest annoyance.

Poor squad recruitment then, isn't it?

To be honest I think that since Covid, injuries across the board have been pretty high.

Us for example, were carrying three injury prone players in 2021/22 but we still had people picking up lots of niggles and last season it wasn't uncommon to have 8 or 9 out at a time, I think there were more occasions we didn't fill a bench than did.

This season hasn't been to different until the last week or two when some have returned (Jackson, Mandroui, Sanders) but we're still without Hopper, Walsh, Davenport, Montsma (albeit an ACL), Bishop and Benn - 5 of those 6 would be starters if fit.

Out of interest, how do you expect to line up against us on Saturday?

To be fair over the past couple of years we can't really talk about that... although we did somehow get promoted with an injury riddled squad!

In fairness if you sign Connor Wickham you know he's probably not going through injury free but its difficult, similar with Wilson for us.

Probably in a 5-2-3/3-4-3, and look to counter. We're not good enough on the ball to control a game against most bottom half sides, never mind try to do away at you lot. So we'll sit in, probably hit the channels when we can, an attack will break down and you'll get possession again.

Thanks! I don't actually know much about Lincoln's team this year. Usually keep an eye out as were always my football manager team in previous years. Also, had lunch with the owners a few years back and they were some of the nicest people I've met.

I didn't realise Stevens AND Matt were out. That's got to be a blow. Matt is always difficult to play against.

Brown and McAllister are decent too. Any team would struggle with that amount out. People were losing their heads when we had a similar injury crisis last season and we had a few poor results because we didn't have a single fit striker.

It'll get better I'm sure but selfishly we have to take advantage of your depleted squad on Saturday!

It's a shame because although I think Vale are a better team on paper than us with both squads fit, this is one of the fixtures we'd have to try and target in a "find fifty points somewhere" exercise and it's looking even more unlikely we'll get anything now. Just got to hope for a Bolton-esque showing from Vale.

We’ve done ok with injuries over the past couple of seasons with the exception of at centre back where we’ve been really thin for a couple of months, and centre midfield two years ago when we were really short.

So I think Chris does have a point that when things are going well you don’t seem to get so many injuries, probably because people want to play through any niggles they have.

We are more than capable of throwing in a stinker.

I'm hopeful that our performances are now starting to bear some fruit. I said before Derby that we're not a million miles off getting a few good results. We should have got a point against Wednesday the week before.

Clarke is always a slow starter and we started this season undercooked and with key players either unfit or injured. Some of our key players have now had quite a lot of game time, so we're starting to see this. We need to be targeting 4 points out of the next 2 really.

I'd feel comfortable if we were sat around 10th come Christmas time.

Most of the time yes, although this year it’s been hard to establish any sort of proper style as the team changes every week and we keep passing it straight to the opposition.

We seem to be improving certainly now players are getting up to speed, think only Proctor is out now?

You never know with Vale though as you say a stinker is always there waiting to come out the locker.

I target 25 points by 5pm Boxing Day, get that we are on target but from this position I would hope for a few more points than that which would leave us less to know in the latter half.

I hope we beat FGR but do hope they stay up as well after the slog to get up in the first place and its always seemed a decent club. Our fan zone on Saturday is even Vegan themed!

Shrews at home at the weekend, and last season they thumped us 2-0 at our place ( maybe even 3-0 )

Our home form is average at best, one win at the beginning of August and nothing since. Shrews are doing well and all credit to them, can we sneak a home win ? Sooner or later we are due to win so why not on Saturdat, by the narrowest of margins 2-1
