Early starting this thread, but given the forecast for the weekend, I suspect a few games will fall foul of the freeze. Met Office has it -4 on Friday night in Carlisle and won't get above freezing all day.

3,000 tickets sold for Dale away but as you say, concerned about whether their pitch will avoid the frost.

You are way too keen BarraMatt

Start of a run of games we have to take points from, I don't expect us to take anywhere near enough, and only see a sound drubbing. Haven't bothered watching/listening since the the surrender at Barra and doubt I will this time either.

This thread probably won't go much further than Friday morning, in hindsight.

Yeah I can see this being off. If it was the usual 3pm kick off there’d be a slight chance with the covers on over night then the sun on it all morning, but over night freeze then the need of a decision by 10am latest you’d think. Be amazed if it goes ahead.

I hope Carlisle’s game isn’t off or else Carver will be raging at the tinpottedness of his own club.
Winter does not start until 21st December so having a game called off in the Autumn - absolutely no excuse whatsoever.

No disrespect to Gills but if we can't manage a win and clean sheet here then we may as well call it a day.

After Stockport pushed our shit back in Saturday I think the faint hopes any of us had have quickly vanished.

A garbage squad, yet to win away going in to this on the back of a drubbing, only going one way this.

Carlisle v Barrow won't be off, I can 100% guarantee you that as Carver assures me that Carlisle are way too massive and slick of a global enterprise to have matches called off due to tinpot things like the weather, especially in autumn like Fish says.

Couldn’t give less of a shit if our game is on or off. It’s so fucking tedious. If it’s on, we’ll lose.

So is Grimsby v Rovers on Saturday a near certainty to go ahead?

Can’t recall us playing many league games on a Sunday (barring our 2 years in the Prem, of course). One that does stand out is Man City away on ITV in 2001 - lost 3-1.

Shaun Goater, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Huckerby absolutely run us ragged that day. They brought Wanchope on just after they scored their third for good measure. Some team!

Anyway, Gillingham it is.

I just hope we get back to winning ways. Some fans on our forum are licking their lips about the possibility of going on abit of a run. We’ve a very poor record against Gillingham - particularly at home.

Rochdale at Valley Parade the week after. On paper, I’d like to see us win this one, but again, Dale seem to do alright at our place - that and the fact that we’re absolute tosh at home - Hartlepool would beat us on current form.

Carlisle away on Boxing Day. We haven’t beaten them up their since 1985. Losing 5 and drawing 3 since. They usually stick 3 past us, too.

Then we have Harrogate at home, who have already turned us over in the Cup at VP this season. It’s a massive game for them and they’re always up for it. Played em 5 times and we’ve beaten them once - that was this season at their gaff.

The run of fixtures between now and the new year really don’t fill me with any confidence, but given Gills form, we really should be returning to West Yorkshire with all 3 points - big game!

We’re still without Critchlow, which has coincided with our poor run of results/performances.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Matty Platt
CB: Timi Odusina
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Gilliead

RW: Scott Banks
CAM: Harry Chapman
LW: Tyreik Wright

ST: Andy Cook

I’ll take a scrapping win now. 1-0 off Cooks arse, I don’t care.

300 City (thanks EFL).

I think we will line up like this:
GK: Kick straight into touch
RB: Can’t defend
CH: I’m Marcus Rashfords mate that’s as close to being a footballer I’ll ever be
CH: Tom Anderson
CH: Tommy Rowe but I should be further up the pitch
LB: In Scotland I’m brill
CM: ‘Bout time I retired
CM: Harrison Biggins
RW: I was great at Hartlepool
CF: George Miller, it would be nice if one of my mates got near, it’s really lonely up here
LW: Kyle Hurst

We will probably be unchanged for the visit of Donny! but if the rumours are true that Wilfried Bony has signed until the end of the season we may see him replace Bogle, apparantly Bony played 20 mins for the development team yesterday against Swindon and scored and hit the post so he must have signed as i dont think he can play for any of the clubs teams if he is not registered.

Couldn't he be playing as a trialist? Does seem odd though that he'd play at all though if he was just there keeping fit in training. Didn't he train with you lot a few seasons ago? Guessing the club will announce it if he's signed until the end of the season, especially as it's got quite a bit of attention now.

I believe if you are a trialist you go on the team sheet as such! but Bony was actually named on yesterday's team sheet.

Could do with the game being off. Seemingly our friendly against Newport didn't go too well and we picked up a couple of 'bad' injuries. (On top of Frenchy) we're in bad form and Wimbledon are on the up a bit so I'm not hugely confident if it goes ahead anyway.

Something has to change, Bob. It’d be bad enough watching this drab, turgid stuff if it was successful, but watching it when we look totally lost is beyond grim. I still don’t know what the club’s priority is. Getting promoted or progressing young players for future sale. At the moment both those aren’t happening.

With the purchase of the CG finalising next month, then the long awaited revamp of the stadium imminent we really need to be out of this god forsaken league now.
