I think Chester are 'probably' just about going to be ok. They have enough in their team to get he few points needed to secure safety. By any measure Burr has failed to improve sufficiently over his tenure. They should be doing better than they are. I can't see him being there much longer . A noisy section of our fans gave a lot of stick to Morrell, Wilkin and now Mills but equally a lot of the same people clamoured for Burr to be appointed near the end of Morrells reign. He's done nothing at Chester to show he would have been worth it.

Adam Mekki was the best player on the pitch by a mile.
19 year-old Sam Hughes for us.
I'm afraid Steve Burr's one supporter has gone quiet after that abysmal display.
You on about 'Chaz' on Deva Chat?

The obsessive behaviour towards him from some posters on Deva Chat is genuinely one of the weirdest things I've ever come across, not quite Mancot Blue level though.

He literally just doesn’t believe we’ll go down, and he’ll more than likely be proved correct, yet everyone seems to have gone completely bonkers about him, it’s actually hilarious.

I don't think we'll go down, but this season the football, commitment, entertainment, tactics, team shape, passion, etc have been appalling. I bought into the organic growth model, but there has been some kind of fungus in it this season.

So what? There are plenty of "neutrals" on here as well. Still, congratulations on frantically Googling and eventually finding something that makes you feel better.

And just because you're (faux) outraged about it, doesn't mean it was wrong. This one's not cut and dry and very much a matter of opinion.

How do you know whether I'm genuinely outraged or merely faux outraged? That one's very much a matter of opinion.

Done nothing???? What about this?

That's a proper manager right there. That could have been our gaffer belting out Wrexham is the Name. Mills's post match fist pumps and arms aloft celebrations look weak as piss in comparison. .

Absolute disgrace what happened at Guiseley this weekend. They should be ashamed of themselves.

That's a very good point. He also invented the 'jammed plastic cup in the cable tidy hole' as a pen holder. That's a million pound idea.

One last post about the Chester vs Tranmere game, and the ridiculously OTT policing. There were 200 police officers in attendance, with cameras, helicopters and dogs, meaning that there was a police officer for every 17 fans.

Somone pointed out that for a Merseyside derby in Feb 2015, a match with undeniably more aggro and 40,000 or so in attendance, Merseyside Police used 254 officers, or 156 fans per officer. The reason that the 254 figure made the news was because Merseyside Police had wanted to use less, but an evening Saturday kick off meant they had to expand operations.

Pro-rata, thats TEN TIMES the policing at a Chester vs Tranmere game on a Sunday morning, than at a Merseyside derby on a Saturday evening.

Unsurprisingly, it was incident-free.

Yeah, I was utterly terrified of the 14 year olds in H block, Leeds and Millwall were nothing on them... Serious waste of time and money, hope they come to their senses next time.

I must admit it does seem very excessive if the figures you mentioned are accurate. To be honest when you came to our place I don't remember any of your supporters causing trouble (although I appreciate only 1/4 of what you took to Chester came to the Rec).

They've come out in our local press hailing the success of their operation, due to the fact that no arrests were made. Giving themselves a nice pat on the back then.

It should have Saturday 3pm with better ticketing arrangements for both sides resulting in a crowd of around 5,000, instead we get the same nonsense every Derby game where people can't be mithered with all of the hassle. They were out making statements in the press last week warning people about causing trouble, it's hardly encouraging parents to let their kids come along.
