A very good game to watch. I couldn't get over how good my seat was in the neutral end. Grimsby deserved it on the day. I don't know why Grimsby took off Palmer, their best player. Its a cruel game losing on penalties. Grimsbys fans were class - didn't stop singing all game. The same cant be said for Rovers though - they sang the same song every 20 minutes or so and then the rest of the time they were silent.

Anyway, congratulations Rovers. Seems fair as the top 2 went up. Good luck and see you next season.

Palmer was beginning to tire when he was taken off.
I think Rovers managed to win through sheer force of will.
Those neutral zone seats were good, weren't they?

Harrison looked very good, although I can't say any other Rovers player stood out. Thought Pearson was by far the best player on the pitch - Palmer, Mackreth and Nsiala were awful.

Let's all remember that Rovers are just the underlings to the Bees this season though ey :bdick:

Harrison is a very good player. Over the three games I've watched in the Play-Offs nobody else has really stood out, but it's still a decent side that should finish mid-table in L2 at least. Not sure about Puddy, and that Taylor thinks he's a big deal when he's absolute shite.

Fair play to Clarke, though. I was hoping his antics in the pub would be another memorable moment for us City fans, just wasn't to be! Congrats.

Clarke has done wonders with Harrison, considering his attitude towards the end of last season & the fact he started this season on the transfer list, he's ended up being one of our most important players. He's completely turned him around.

He could be a massive player for us next season & should be one of the 1st names on the team sheet each week

When we played the Gas at our place last year, I said to my mate who is a Gashead that Ellis Harrison has something about him.

As others have said - Clarke has done wonders with him, as he was 'out on his ear' quote Darrell Clarke at the end of last season, and he also seems to have found him a new position upfront, as I believe he was being played off the wing under Ward and for the majority of last season. He also had rape accusations if I remember correctly - but he's certainly sorted himself out, with the help of Darrell Clarke.

Hard to predict how Rovers will do next season, but they have every right to give it a go, with a young manager, a fairly young squad, some good quality in there, such as Mansell, Parkes, Taylor, Monkhouse who all wouldn't be out of place in the top half of L2.

As for Darrell Clarke personally - for Rovers fans he must be an absolute breath of fresh air compared to Ward, and his passion was there for all to be seen at the end of last season when times were hard, and today when he ran half the length of the pitch out of joy over to the many Gasheads. I like young managers being given a chance, and Clarke is pretty fearless and adventurous, and he's converted from coach to manager very well judging by that season.

Fair play Gasheads, be it Non-League or not, it's your time in the Sun for today.

Legend. His celebrations at the end were superb. Coming right up to us at the end and singing Goodnight Irene with his arms in the air, was something I have never seen any manager do at any club, never mind my own.

Thanks for the welcome, feel we will need 4/5 signings to 'do a Luton' next season. Personally, i'll be happy with a stress-free, boring midtable season for the first time in what, 5/6 years?!

Well done, as Mr Seston said , Clarke and Monkhouse made the difference , and he knows what he's talking about, unlike seaton poolie if he ever joins here!

Good to be back, bit sooner than I thought!

Despite only being 12 months, we've changed massively as a club and I do think most of that is down to DC and his strategies, particularly in recruitment. No more overweight, overpaid Scottish (they were mainly Scottish under Mark McGhee) lads who won't fight for the shirt - at least I hope not

Whilst it is nice of people to say we may well be up there next season, I think it's a bit premature. Luton absolutely blitzed that league last year, which is no mean feat and despite losing Andre Gray they had a lot of great players. Having finally taken the time to look at what has changed in League Two - not much - there are some very strong clubs in good positions to challenge next year too. Pompey being the obvious one, and with the appointment of Cook they are likely to spend in my opinion.

Recruitment is needed, although not mass recruitment in my opinion, but I like Gassy would be happy with mid-table and no flirting with relegation. If we can push the top ten/play-offs, fantastic.

Welcome back.

We all know what happened to the last club to win the play-offs after seeing Barnet stroll to the title...

Lump on.

Darrell Clarke. We love him at Pools and so glad, if a little surprised, he became a manager. Never struck me as the type

But he's done amazing and I love the clip. That's so him.

Overjoyed and mightily relieved we escaped the Conference in one year. I have been to all 52 Gas games this season and taken in some real hellholes but today made it all worth it.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that so many City fans are still so concerned about us that they are posting on this and the Conference forum. To be fair most have been gracious enough to admit we've done a good job, which is civil of them!

We are much better for our non-league experience and are a united club once again, which feels amazing to say. With Darrell at the helm we go into next season full of confidence - I won't make any bold predictions at this stage but I am feeling good about all things Rovers right now.

The Gas are back!

I'm only guessing, but being out of the league makes avoiding relegation at all costs number one priority, hence Mansfields interpretation of how to play football. I think both Rovers and Barnet will be ok and possibly chasing play offs...

Glassy mate that's what makes our staying up so important. We'd never have come back under IOR.

We're back and I still can't quite believe it . No one wants to see a grown man cry at the football but fuck it , it's been emotional .however Being consoled by a ten year old lad next to me has probably made my wife reconsider her life choices :ffs:

Really? Any need for the City bit? We have offered our congratulations yet you have the need for a dig?
Just enjoy your moment and don't compare your club to ours as, with all possible respect, you wouldn't like the result.
You are a long, long way from City my friend. We, in case you didn't notice, pissed L1, won the JPT in front of 43000 City fans and are half way through a beautiful ground rebuild.
Concentrate on your club and stop trying to compare with us. It will chew you up.

Well done again.

Totally agree, but I'd like to think we can do it without employing Mansfields tactics...Surely it's not rocket science to play a bit of football and not spend 5 months anchored to the bottom of the league

Absolutely delighted for Darrell Clarke, and that video is brilliant. Would love him to be manager here one day.

Well done to Bristol Rovers.

Welcome back Rovers - even though I have bad memories of last season's FA Cup. It wasn't just about being beaten, it was about getting frozen for most of 90 minutes watching a water polo match which was then abandoned.
I first knew they went out of the league during the last game of 2013/14. The away end erupted. Yes, you guessed it. Bristol City were visiting us.

Think you'll find that City fans fired the first shots. Christ, you hardly won the Premier League, Champions League double.
