So tonight we are officially promoted.

However we have a winding up order on the 15th of May that could spell the end of the club.

So we either go bust, or start next season on -12 with no players. It’s great to be back!!

Shouldn’t this be the Bury hamster wheel thread?

Congratulations to Bury for another completely ridiculous season. Sometimes sequels are absolutely rubbish, but this one has been good even by your standards. Completely over the top and unbelievable in a 'Fast & Furious 6' kind of way.

*roll credits*

*cut to scene at end of credits showing incompetent Bury chairman hasn't been killed in fire and is back in his bunker drafting 15k pw contracts for Danny Mayor, Jay O'Shea and Nicky Adams.*

I have a feeling Bury’s yo-yo string might snap fairly soon

Actually they may be yet another takeover on the cards and yes they do know about the debts. We are certainly one batshit crazy club.

How did Dom Telford do Bury fans?

He was one I wanted to stay with us last summer but DC didn’t really play him so understandably he wanted first team football

Always thought he had a natural eye for goal. A poacher like Cureton

He's done okay tbh, I would have loved to have seen him start a few more games but we've rotated a lot this season and hes started mostly in the checkatrade. Hope he decides to stay if we sort things out.

Steve Evans lol

Not confirmed although probable.

I don’t really understand how you’ve managed to rack up so much debt? Surely that’s against FFP rules?

Quite easy the EFL have allowed us to rack up debt for the past 5 years and stood back and watched. Then allowed another man to take over and do fuck all. If the EFL actually had any backbone then these things wouldnt happen.

Blimey I had completely forgot he existed!

What happened to him, he seemed to just disappear off the map completely!

Looking forward to watching him bury a hattrick against us :ffs:

He’s scored 22 in 35 games I think.

Let down by injuries. I and all City fans were absolutely gutted his career went to tatters after the way he left so gracefully and his wonderful comments in the press....

Not. He said he left because he didn't want his son to grow up a Bristolian and then moved to Cardiff 6 months later, so I trust you'll all give him some stick and a few coins like most ex City players seem to be on the end off at The Mem this season.

I didn’t think it was possible to spend above a certain percentage of your turnover?

It was never his or the clubs money its not just Bury he's failed at. He's had about 3 or 4 if not more of his companies wound up. He's used different companies to get loans and put charges on the ground and social club etc. I'm not fully sure how hes been able to get away with it but its clear that the EFL dont do enough looking at the sorts of people who get involved in clubs.

I don’t think loans count as turnover?

It's staggering how you have stood by and watched Stuart Day and his cronies do this to your club. There has been a very long running thread on the Rochdale messageboard (ok...including much piss taking) which contains REAL evidence that should have led to action against your Board well before the bulk of the overspending occurred. Your Supporters Trust has been nothing short of a disgrace, and not fit for purpose.

Sadly, with a few very notable exceptions (and they were treated with disdain by many bury fans) nobody questioned where the money was coming from. You were all , in the main, very happy to have signed a raft of players who were financially out of reach for other clubs at L1 level....but you all lapped it up.

I feel genuinely sorry for whichever L2 team is denied a promotion based on the financial sculduggery that has been going on for YEARS,

Never wish bad on any club, but sooner or later, the EFL (or more likely HMRC) will force someone out of business.
