Not sure I agree about them being at their level.

They’re not a ‘huge’ club but they have only spent about 30 years outside of the top two divisions in their history. I think it was 31 years consecutively they were in the first division/PL.

At the very least, they are a Championship sized club.
I'm aware of their long stay in the top flight. Maybe I'm letting the last how many years influence my mind.

Ask the league 2 clubs if they'll miss em or not. When Cov visited town they always had a good shout. So that makes em big in my book.

I'm looking foward to visiting them next season. PUP

They rarely travel well. Might have impressed a few in the bottom tier mind.

I agree compared to some clubs in the championship they wouldn't be considered huge. But in the lower leagues they'll be quite an attraction. There some shit clubs in L1 with tiny gates so its good to see a biggish club come up. Plus they aint to far oop North! :):):)

Yes I agree its about time they had something to celebrate.

They are more attractive opposition than any of the clubs that got promoted and that includes Blackburn. Maybe Sunderland might be considered more attractive but for me I'd rather visit Cov cos it's nearer.

Inclined to agree with Bobbin here, for me Coventry are a Championship sized club

Not that this matters anymore in football today it seems

I've a fresh idea - let's start a new thread to discuss how big some clubs are in comparison to others. We can take into account factors like history, ground size, home crowd, away following, catchment area, shoutiest fans...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Congrats, Coventry! The fans deserve it after all those years in the bottom half of whatever division you were in at the time.

Extra congrats to Doyle and McNulty. Both very well liked when they were with us.

Totally agree, well done to Cov.

Doyle and McNulty both played at Sheff Utd.

Doyle was crap but was generally popular at SU due to having a great attitude, Captain material and would run through brick walls for the club. McNulty was the opposite, sometimes looked talented with a bit of class but was inconsistent and his attitude was terrible, looked lazy and seemed to spend a lot of time with his Scottish mates in the local night clubs. He’s now had a kid and seems to have buckled down. Pleased for them both.

Rarely travel well?

In all competitions last season we averaged 1800 away from home.

Our home support, for many reasons, is pretty average. Our away support, however, is not.

Don't mind Cov. We normally do well against them, so with the relegation of Bury they can take over again as the team we rarely lose against. However, their young players have done well, and presumably will get better, so that might change. If they get a bit of momentum going next season a second promotion isn't inconceivable.

Be good to see Peter Vincenti back at Rochdale as well - we missed his goals from wide positions last season, never let us down and ought to get a good reception from Dale fans.

He had a poor season with us.

He was a strange player for us. Played on the wing even though he never looked like a winger. Just looked very awkward when he played for us, although he had a few good games.
