I can see Wigan throwing money at it this season in a desperate attempt to get back up. They've still got parachute payments coming in.

Yes Wigan will have a very big budget at this level next season, them and Millwall I'd expect to be top 6.

Well I think i'll join the Wigan bashing, its always nice to put the boot in when that club has finally dropped.

Just a shame Fulham didn't follow then both of the sides which began the massive inflation of lower league wages and full on self-interest at the expense of everyone else approach............its taken a while, but nice to see the empires finally falling.

Be interesting to see what Wigan's support will be like right now, you'll have about 3,000 who will quite look forward to some old trips and teams to play again, you'll have 3,000 wondering 'what the f*ck is this tinpot crap' and the other 10,000 will have already been looking to find out which is the nearest NW prem side to follow next season or gone back to supporting RL.

Can't see Millwall having a great deal of money to play with, looking at previous teams to drop into this league and struggle. I'd be surprised to see them in the top six.

I think they will still get around 8-9k on for their first season down here.

Look at Pompey and what the Prem did for their crowds, getting 15k+ in L2, prior to the whole Mandaric/ Redknapp revolution they were averaging about 10k in the second tier.

Millwall will go well next season. If, and its a big if, Wigan keep the majority of that squad together, they will be far too strong for this league.

When we played Wigan in the L1 playoff final at Wembley 15 years ago, they mustered only 3k fans. It must be strange for Crawley being only the 3rd most tin pot team in the division.

MK Dons fans had that stupid alliance with Crawley if I can remember, so they never ever surprise me.

This Sharpe in charge at Wigan couldn't run a chippy properly so let's hope he applies his own business nous to ensure Wigan are yet again relegated.

We should have relatively superior financial resources for this league, but I think the focus will be on bringing through the current crop of youngsters whih look to be our best since Tim Cahill, Steven Reid, Lucas Neill, Paul Ifill, et al.

Seriously think we can get too six next season. Obvs a lot depends on what happens between now and September but we're looking good at the moment.

I think Millwall will be far more of a threat than Wigan. Can't remember Millwall ever not competing at the right end of this division whenever they've been in it. Wigan may have the parachute payments, but as Orient will tell you, throwing money at the problem doesn't necessarily equal results. Of the three coming down, I would have Millwall top 6, Wigan around 10-14th, and Blackpool doing bloody well to survive.

Successive relegations for Blackpool would be so, so sweet.

Hope Oyston allows Bombsite Road to be come even more derelict so that they have to play their games at AFC Fylde in a few years too. Their pitch is guaranteed to be equally as embarrassing this season with a Neil Diamond concert on it a couple of weeks before the season kicks off.

Long live King Karl.

I think next year will be one too early for our new kids. I'd expect a dull midtable season but lots of promise for the following one. I'm really excited to see Fred, Gregory, Powell, O'Brien and Philpot get plenty of game time next year. The main issue is in defence for me, with nobody really coming through and the current bunch being pretty poor (possibly Nelson aside, although i think he's too raw).

I remember us playing Millwall on the opening day of the season a few years back at BP. Think we were 1-3 down with 20 minutes left and ended up winning 4-3, thanks to a sexual free kick routine finished emphatically by Super Chrissy Taylor.

In fact, I remember beating them quite a few times in the late minutes over the years, both at BP and the Den.

As for Wigan, a.k.a the fake Latics, I can't wait for us to take over the DW....

Well thank you lovely Third Division people.

By the way, what's a Burton? And Fleetwood? Does Stevie Nicks still play for them?

I remember a chant we used to sing in the 80's saying "we're the Millwall of non league". Not certain why but perhaps we was getting relegated at the time

Haha the thought of having to go to Gillingham more than once in the season nearly made me give up following football.
Hold on there, mitigating circumstances. I have to go to Bradford 4 times a year and it's a horrible place where I have to lock my car doors when driving through certain areas. My son was waiting at traffic lights there and had a nutter jump in his car and threaten him while nicking his phone. The police got the bloke eventually, but said he was part of a well known gang who operate these attacks in the area.
Now compare that to where I live near Gillingham park (away from the football ground of course) peaceful, tranquil, expensive houses.....Forgive me, I'm sounding like a Tory, apologies for that.

Lived in Wigan for a bit and the town centre is decent for drinking.

Millwall will be a good day out, love a London away day once or twice a season so that will do.

Oh what? All the Wigan fans that made the TFF rivalry with West Ham (it was well hard back in the day) when they got promoted to the Prem are gone? Where are Batch and LetsHangOn? Hell, even Smudge hasn't posted yet and she used to go to Wigan games a hell of a lot back when they were in this type of division (aka the best in the world ever and forever after). Now we're stuck with Jockers and Denzil. Great. Well, actually you are. I'm following Orient down to League 2 with my homies Llama and Terminator.
Have fun.

Yes Bradford is run down, full of cheap houses inhabited by nasty, evil people and it's really not safe to walk around on your own..
On the other hand Gillingham is the total opposite, I dream of living there one day..

Be fair, it was more like 8k, compared to our 45k+. I wonder where the majority of ours watch their football these days, it certainly isn't at Priestfield.

Been to the old Den twice, proper football ground...here's hoping get the chance for the New Den next season.

Last time went to Wigan was at Springfield park with the grass and mud mound behind the goal, attendance not much over a thousand.

To be fair this is a bit like having an argument over you would rather shag, Anne Widdicombe or Jo Brand!
