At what point in time did wages get so ridiculous?

How can more than a million a week ever be justified as a wage for anyone? Don't you think players would also perform better if there wages were based on performance throughout a season rather than a weekly salary?

Also a bit off topic but shouldn't fines from fifa be relative to the players wage? A £10,000 fine to the average fella is a huge sum but to a high paid footballer they make that back in the same time it takes me to fart.

Totally agree. If a player gets fined it should be 'A week's wages' or 'Half a year salary'. Otherwise they just walk away laughing
